The 1844 Sanctuary Prophecy & Public Revelation

stinsonmarri said: Gustave: Let me again make it very clear that YAHSHUA did not keep Hanukkah. This is false. Just because John mentions the Hebrew celebration, he was explaining that YAHSHUA was at Solomon porch in the Temple. Nothing was mention that YAHSHUA celebrated the eight-days dedication ... Gustave said: That's quite the authoritative statement you just issued there and just to make sure I understand you correctly you're saying that Jesus would not have celebrated Hanukkah. You are claiming that Jesus would have rejected Hanukkah like the Samaritan's rejected Hanukkah. Do I have that right? That "authoratative statement" really does not have enough info to stand up. We have a confusion of two terms - "keep" & "celebrate". If you consider that most all of the other Sabbaths and religious days were ordained by God Himself in the Torah, one, including Jesus Himself, would "keep" them. However, Chanukah is a different situation and one would not "keep" the holiday, they would "celebrate" the holiday. I would not want to say Jesus was so lacking in humor or a desire to participate in the cultural life of Israel that He would play "party pooper" and refuse to celebrate a holiday that commemorated a miracle for the children of Israel. To keep the light going for eight days on a scant bit of oil was equal to the miracle of the oil the woman who looked after Elijah experienced. And who would have provided that oil? Perhaps He even walked in the Temple porches at Chanukah because that was one more teaching opportunity to reach the people and show them how God watches over and cares for them. That was what He specialized in, showing the love of God. One thing to keep in mind is that, according to people I have talked with, Chanukah in Israel is a minor holiday and some believe it has reached it's popularity in western civilization as an alternative to Christmas for Jewish children. How many ever hear of the holiday Tisha B'Av? Most non-Jews have probably never heard of that day of remembering. Or how many non-Jews have ever heard of Succot, a day which is commanded in the Torah to be kept? https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/144575/jewish/What-Is-Tisha-BAv.htm When my kids were little, Chanukah was a very happy time for them. The music of Chanukah is also especially beautiful. Ah! for the dreidels, latkes, and the gelt along with the stories! While it may be distant in history today, in Jesus's time, it was a relatively recent experience in the national memory. One must be careful of making pronouncements of what the Bible says when it doesn't say it. I see nothing that says Jesus would not have been part of Chanukah celebrations, whatever they were, with His friends and family.1 point -
The Little Horn--More

One more thing Joe, I do not agree with this either. Nor is it in the Bible! Also in her book TM p. 112, she said we will have less to say about the Papacy. No ones seem to tell you that she changed her mind. She is human and she is not above the Bible! She concluded that both Daniel and Revelation needed to be investigated and study more! Blessings!1 point -
The Little Horn--More

Joe: Please don’t get upset, can I present something to you and the forum. Here is why we have this debate about the little horn because of the word antichrist! You know where I stand with that word it should say, false messiah. The word christ was not even used in the disciples or the apostle’s days! I will state this again words and interpretation causes confusion. A guest came on the forum and asks two questions and everyone gave him various Bible translations. He came back and said that he knew about various translations, but he wanted to know what certain words actually meant in Hebrew. I explain it and he was ok with it. I not bragging, what I am offering is an example if it is alright with you? We all drive and we all have to read signs. When we come to a stop sign it means stop, halt am I correct? In every country in the world when you drive and see a stop sign it means the same. So why do we have so many translations and interpretations? The Bible does not say this church or that church is completely correct or is a remnant. Is said that there is one faith and the seed from the woman is the remnant! This seed will keep all the Commandments and have the Testimony of YAHSHUA! Then the Bible says the same thing in the OT, “To the Law and the Testimony if they speak not according to this Word there is no light in them. Getting back to the little horn, can you show me historically two important things that are mention in Daniel Chapter Seven. 1. It shall attempt to change Time and Laws of YAHWEH 2. It plucks up three horns or kingdoms If you would be so kind as to show me in any history book of anyone else who have done these two things and then let’s discuss it with an open mind okay? Blessings!1 point -
On Revelation
JoeMo reacted to stinsonmarri for a topic
Pastor Matthew, I have been saying this all along. I got it from Testimony to the Minister, which I have stated what she wrote many times in this forum. Many things we believe as a denomination is not found in Daniel or Revelation and we should not hold on to these errors. I say this with respect for you and with trembling and reverence before THE MOST HIGH! Respectfully and blessings!1 point -
Hebrew language question for Daniel 8:23
Aaron 1517 reacted to stinsonmarri for a topic
Greetings Brother Aaron: I have studied Hebrew and I like various Lexicons. A Lexicon is similar to a dictionary, although it usually deals with an ancient language. Ancient languages vocabularies are special and unique because the authors have an in-depth study into a particular field of study called linguistics. The uniqueness of the lexicon is the total stock of ancient words and word elements that carry meaning. Today we have shades of meaning and during the middle ages, many ancient words were changed even today. Like Pastor Matthew, I like Biblehub.com too, but I use the lexicon and not the various Bible translations because you want to understand exactly what is meant! The first question you asked: “In Hebrew is it certain that the word “kingdom” is singular in verse 23 and not the plural form which would be the word “kingdoms?” Actually, the word is “mal·chu·tam,” it comes from the root word “meh'-lek.” It means “royalty, royal power,” and yes it is singular. If you notice in verse 9 is the clue. The story is about the horn which grows exceedingly great to the South, to the East, and to the glorious land. This is what you spoke of and you are correct! The second question you asked: Using a Concordance I can see the Hebrew word for “latter” and the Hebrew word for “kingdom” but I do not see the word “their” as in “latter time of their kingdom.” Could this verse be translated as “And in the latter kingdom, when the transgressors ...?” Let say this, certain words we use today has to do with our grammar structure. Their grammar structure was different. The word “their” is a possessive pronoun which is used for ownership. So again we are talking about one particular kingdom of the horn which was exceedingly great. In "their" kingdom is referring to the people of this horn kingdom, who will have a fierce and dark king and the people have become transgressors! Remember any kingdom is made up of people and the Old King English languages claim these people as ownership. The kingdom of Rome went from a Republic to an Empire in 31 BC under Augustus! I hope this has helped you to understand the verse better. Happy Sabbath and blessings!1 point
