God Gave Laws That Weren't Good?

Those were the sacrificial laws and only these laws were done away with: And HE shall confirm the Covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations, HE shall make it desolate, even until the consummation and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Dan 9:27 These are what are called the mosaic laws! However, the Protestants including the SDA include the Holy Convocations Days which is not accurate at all. These Holy Days of Set Time belong to YAHWEH! And YAHWEH spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the children of Israel, and you shall say to them, The Appointed Times of YAHWEH which you shall proclaim as Holy Gatherings (Holy Convocations), shall be these: These are My Appointed Times: Lev 23:1, 2 TS2009 These days are found in Gen 1:14 which also include the weekly Sabbath. They are not Sabbaths nor were any of them called the Sabbath. However, the Day of Atonement was called our sabbath and the instructions given were totally different from YAHWEH'S Sabbath. You will find many will claim that the Blowing of the Trumpet was a Sabbath. It was not it was called "shabbâthôn," this word in ancient Hebrew language means a special occasion. The word in Hebrew "Shabbath," is a noun and YAHWEH would have used that word. Where I become sad is that so many tried hid the truth to keep others from knowing it. I feel everyone should know the truth! Why hide it? If you don't want to obey that's your choice. But the old saying, "misery loves company." They don't want to do it and they choose for others, keeping them from making their own choice! How sad this world has become! Blessings!

La Sierra University Church Now Has a Sabbath School For Homosexuals

FYI, there are many SDA congregations in the U.S. that allow any group that wants to have a Sabbath School Class, to have such. In that process, that class is typically allowed to study whatever they want to study, which often is not the official lesson. I do not believe that we should think that the LSU class is dedicated to promoting the idea that the practice of homosexuality is acceptable in Christian life. Rather, it is probably simply a class where people who deal with the issue of homosexuality may associate in a Bible study environment. NOTE: I wonder how many people commenting in this thread have actually attended that class? Yes, I have not.

    The Plague of Radical Feminism

If that's the case, perhaps I'm misunderstanding why they were raised in the first place. What point is being made by saying that there are fewer women than men in war graves? How is that point relevant to the concerns raised in the OP and the topic of this thread? Genuine questions in a quest to understand.

    The Plague of Radical Feminism

It's really not. The argument that the number of men in war graves should be counted as a positive for the contribution of men might be true if we were talking about fighting against natural disasters, but if someone causes a problem in the first place, there is little credit in then trying to solve it, particularly when thousands or millions of people of all sexes and ages die in the process.

    The Plague of Radical Feminism

The OP is one case in point. For example, men who enlist in the 'honorable cause of providing rights for women' are described as beta males and white knights. Every online discussion I've ever had with MRAs is another. They start out with the reasonable position provided above as a definition, but within a very few rounds of the conversation the hate comes out. We're all human together, with equal human rights. Our society - as have almost all human societies in history - has a systematic bias against women (and against ethnic and religious minorities, people with non-majority sexual orientation and gender, and so on). Feminism is simply applied humanism: work to disassemble systematic inequality. The backlash from those who have historically benefited from systematic inequality and experience losing that unfair benefit as oppression is disappointing but not surprising.

    Trivia

5 Things You Didn't Know About The Lincoln Assassination On the night of April 14, 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was shot and mortally wounded by John Wilkes Booth at Ford’s Theater in Washington, D.C. Here are five things you didn't know about the Lincoln assassination... Lincoln Was Not the Only Target That Night The plan that night was more extensive than just having Booth shoot Lincoln. He wanted his co-conspirators to assassinate additional officials. The plan was that Booth would shoot Lincoln at the theater, Lewis T. Powell and David Herold would assassinate Secretary of State William H. Seward in Seward's home, and George A. Atzerodt would kill Vice President Andrew Johnson. All of the murders would happen around the same time that night. As it happened, only Booth succeeded (in, oddly, the most public venue of the three places); Atzerodt lost his nerve and didn't carry out his job while Powell wounded Seward and three others but did not kill Seward. There Were Already Fears of Assassination Attempts Floating Around the Government Lincoln had been planning to see the production of "Our American Cousin" but was advised against going out. Earlier that day, Secretary of War Edwin Stanton and other government officials had warned the president that there were fears someone might try to harm him, not necessarily at the theater specifically, but just in general, and they were wary of him being in such unprotected and open circumstances. However, despite being tired and despite Mary Todd Lincoln complaining of a headache, Lincoln wanted to go, claiming the play would provide a welcome break. John Wilkes Booth Hoped the Assassination Would Destroy the U.S. Government Booth's ambitions were grandiose. He didn't just want to harm the president; he wanted to destroy the current U.S. government. His idea was to kill off the three most important officials in the government and bring everything to a halt, creating a sort of morbid government shutdown. Booth Kept a Diary While on the Run Some people are determined to record themselves and what they perceive as their accomplishment, no matter how bad the actual act. Booth apparently was of the same mind as he actually kept a diary while hiding. He recorded his disbelief at the fact that people didn't like what he'd done and that he was not receiving the accolades that he thought he deserved. Booth May Have Killed Himself What officials know about Booth's death was that he and Herold were hiding in a barn in Virginia, and when the two were found, Herold surrendered, apparently due to a threat that the barn would be set on fire. Booth died of a gunshot wound. What is not completely known is whether the shot was fired by one of the people who found Booth, or by Booth himself while the barn burned. There are also rumors that Booth actually escaped, but no evidence was ever presented to show that the dead man in the barn was not Booth.

God Gave Laws That Weren't Good?

What JoeMo said is accurate. God did give some laws (not because they were good) but to stump bust a specific stubborn group of people. Isaiah 28, 20 explains the reason this was done this way was so that the Jews would be "broken" - because they needed to be "broken". This is why the "moral" or "natural laws" engrained on all people were carried over to the "New Covenant" while the ceremonial type of laws (those laws intended to break down a stubborn people) were nailed to the cross and put to death. "But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken".

  9. It's just a way for the homosexuals to "get acquainted" with one another for the "fun" that happens later. This is no different than a "gay bar", or a "gay cruise", a "gay dating website", etc. By offering it THIS WAY the leadership can "nudge" peoples view of homosexuality being more natural and wholesome ( like what's wrong with a "Spanish Sabbath School Class" ).
