Withholding Tithe vs Other Sins
rudywoofs (Pam) and one other reacted to B/W Photodude for a topic
As a church treasurer, that is one task I would not cooperate with. Because someone's tithe does not pass thru my hands on the way to the church bank account, it does not mean they do not pay tithe. So, it is not my job to determine whether someone gives or not and I am not going to waste any of my time worrying or wondering about it. One of my rationales for this is that the previous church treasure talked several people she knew (family and friends) in to sending their tithe money to our church. And they have continued to do so after she was no longer treasurer. I imagine there may be a committee somewhere looking down on these people and not letting them be active in church life because "they don't pay tithe." Providing a list is also a bit unethical as the donations of the members is supposed to be confidential.2 points -

Lou: That was a beautiful statement at the end, and it touches me deeply. But it seems to me that the very title of this chapter implies that there are many sincere individuals who have seen God’s law as a threat to our freedom. Many Christians feel that God’s law is something from which they […] The post Questions and Answers (12:9) appeared first on Jon Paulien's Blog. View the full article1 point -

because merrily and/or obliviously spreading disease isn't an attribute to which most people want to expose themselves.... vaccines are highly effective, but not 100%. Furthermore, those who haven't completed the course of a vaccine inoculation are not well protected, not to mention infants who are extremely susceptible to contagious diseases. It's beyond me how anti-vaxxers who've been exposed can carry a disease, expose others, and not care about how their actions can have catastrophic effects on other people. Unbelievable.... and selfish, imo.1 point -
Death of a SDA Scientist
dgrimm60 reacted to Gregory Matthews for a topic
On May 9, 2019, Dr. Ervin Taylor died. In my opinion, he was probably one of the best known of SDA Scientists. As such he was considered by some to have departed from Adventism. When an attempt was made to remove him from SDA membership, he fought long and hard to remain a member and he won that fight. With his death, the time to debate his relationship with the SDA Church has passed. I request that such not be posted. For more information on his life as a scientist this see: https://atoday.org/ervin-taylor-at-co-founder-and-univ-of-calif-scientist-passes-to-his-rest/1 point -

I am a church treasurer. I have not encountered this scenario, but it is still what I would do if faced with this situation. If a pastor insists on it, he can go thru the "pink sheets", and find out for himself who gives and who doesn't.1 point -
The Dark Day... brought about by forest fire?

Many believe the opposite is like a broad path to destruction! Straight and narrow, the Bible says is the way. I do not follow crowds, I follow YAHSHUA and HE never mistreated people. HE never claimed that people base on their color and their country are "__ holes!" This man has been in both parties so we can wipe that out! He is supposed to be the leader of the whole country not just for a few! My issues are not even the above problems he's done it's about this country Constitutions or laws! This country bragged about their laws and now they are being challenged. I also am concern about the violence, hatred as well. These concerns are Bible base as in the days of Noah. This is a sign that YAHSHUA told us to be prepared for and it is happening. Another shooting in a SCHOOL, children are being killed, I pray for my grandchildren today! This is not about parties, this about sin, and being prepared for what's soon to come! Things are so out of control and we have not come to the Time of Trouble yet! That's my concern and the Gospel being completed! Read Rev 13:11-16; 19:20! Now, only a buffalo has two horns like a lamb! I believe prophetically along with the pioneers that this is America! I have not changed from this belief base on the above two Scriptures and there are more. This is where I and the SDA differ, according to Rev 11 & 18 the papacy will eventually take again Jerusalem. When the embassy was move was a sign. The Catholic Church and Protestants actually have taken over Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Have you been there? The fire that destroys the great city is a nuke bomb in Rev Chapter 18 and Babylon is a city which is Jerusalem. Again, she has left the truth starting with the false religion call Judaic! The Jews and the USA are really tight now but not for long according to the above Scriptures. Her judgment again in one hour or after the Time of Trouble is close. The one hour of time this world is without an INTERCESSOR and the beast will be in control and the 2 horned lamb-like beast (the false prophet), will destroy Jerusalem, the papacy and the Protestants (the uncage birds the harlots of Rev Chapter 17). This is the battle of Armageddon, only one must be worship over the entire world! One hour in Daniel is 60 days or two months. Subtract 1,260 from 1,290! Then subtract 1,260 from 1,335 is 60 + 15 days. Read Daniel 12:9-12 YAHSHUA told Daniel how time will end, and wicked will not understand but the wise will! The word sacrifice was put in it is italic. The daily means continual and that is the Covenant which everlasting! When the Covenant has been removed and the beast stands to be worship. He will cause the final world war of flesh beings. The papacy will be destroyed by him and then he prepares to take on YAHSHUA! He does not stand a chance at all! Those15 days is what is stated in Rev 11:15-19; 16:16-21; blessed be to the righteous ones because THE FATHER states: IT IS FINISH! Hail is falling and YAHSHUA is told to them by THE FATHER is on the Way! It all about understanding and believing the signs! Blessings to all!1 point -

5 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Deep Blue On May 11, 1997, IBM’s supercomputer Deep Blue made chess history by defeating Garry Kasparov, the chess champion widely regarded as the greatest who has ever lived. Here are 5 shocking things you didn't know about this challenge between man and machine... The Name Deep Blue Came from IBM’s Nickname The Deep Blue chess program was originally called Chiptest and was created by Thomas Anantharaman and Feng-Hsiung Hsu, who were students at Carnegie Mellon University. They joined the IBM corporation later, and the name was changed to Deep Thought and then to Deep Blue, which was a variation of the nickname for the IBM corporation Big Blue. Although Garry Kasparov beat the computer in 1966 in a six-game match, the computer won in 1997 with 3.5 games to Kasparov’s 2.5 The Fredkin Prize Was Finally Awarded After 17 Years The Fredkin Prize was created in 1980 by Edward Fredkin, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, who was a pioneer in artificial intelligence. The prize was to be awarded to whoever could create a computer capable of beating the top chess player in the world. Deep Blue accomplished this in 1997, and the big prize was awarded to the IBM team that upgraded the machine so it could beat Kasparov. Kasparov Had Beaten a Previous Version of the Computer at Chess Deep Thought, the precursor to Deep Blue, was created in 1988 and named after the fictional computer in “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.” Kasparov beat the machine in two games they played together in 1989. This was when developers of the software realized that the program needed more work. Back to the Drawing Board At a match held in Philadelphia on February 10, 1996, Kasparov easily beat Deep Blue, even though the machine won one game, which won its program developers the Fredkin Prize, and two other games were draws. Kasparov won three games, but IBM once again upgraded the computer for the next rematch. Kasparov Finally Lost to Deep Blue The final match was in New York City on May 11, 1997, and drew a large audience. Kasparov won the initial game, but it was a tie when Deep Blue won the second and tension mounted in the audience when the next three chess games were draws. The computer quickly won the last game, and the team for Deep Blue refused a rematch, probably since they had met their goal.1 point -

There are all kinds of autonomies you may want, but you don't get to exercise them around other people. You may have to go somewhere where vaccinations are not required. Plenty of countries around the world do not require vaccinations. You may also consider just moving way away from everyone, order everything online, and have it dropped off at the end of your very own long, long driveway! That medical autonomy thing is problematic. Many smokers do not want to quit smoking. It is their right! But when they come down with life threatening illnesses, who pays. Most people do not pay out of their pocket for serious illnesses. Either insurance or the public picks up the tab. Many would like to see healthcare withheld from people who engage in self-injuring activities, but where will that end? All kinds of things have been outlawed because of the strain on social resources to cover the lack of people to cooperating with their own safety. One of the reasons you now must wear seatbelts. YOur autonomy with that will get you traffic tickets. (But it's my right!) The list gets longer of all the things that have become required of people who have to live in close proximetry to everyone around them. Riddle: What do you call a temper tantrum in a three year old child?1 point -

Let me illustrate my statement above: If you cut a loaf of bread into pieces, each piece is still bread. But that is not the way it works in chemistry and in genetics. If you break common table salt into its constituent pieces you get sodium and chlorine, you do not get salt. Same way in genetics. A strand of DNA broken into its constituent parts does not give you DNA.1 point -

Narcah, the following is a quote from your cited website. Essentially it is saying that the original DNA is so broken up that it is no longer DNA. Properly understood, you are not putting human DNA from a fetus into your body when you are vaccinated.1 point -

5 Things You Didn't Know About The Transcontinental Railroad On May 10, 1869, a golden spike was driven into the last railroad tie at Promontory, Utah, marking the completion of the first transcontinental railroad in the United States. Here are 5 surprising things you didn't know about this massive project that provided more accessible travel for Americans and revolutionized shipping.... The Ambitious Rail Line Project Was Begun During the Civil War The Civil War was in full swing in 1862 with Stonewall Jackson driving soldiers with the Union Army away from Winchester, Virginia, and Union ships seizing control around the Mississippi River. In addition to dealing with the war, President Abraham Lincoln was concerned about the country’s future and its progress. On July 1, 1862, he committed the federal government to the construction of a rail line that would lead from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific by signing the Pacific Railway Act into law. Two Different Railroad Companies Worked on the Project Under the provisions of the Pacific Railway Act, two companies, the Union Pacific Railroad and the Central Pacific Railroad would be building the route to the west, and the rail lines would come together at an unspecified point. It was a lucrative job for the railroad companies, and they were paid in government bonds of $16,000 for one mile of track and up to $48,000 in areas of difficult terrain, plus a sizeable amount of land. Workers Who Were Mostly Immigrants Built the Rail Line Because of the ongoing war and gold fever in the west, it was difficult at first for the railroads to find employees. The Central Pacific Railroad hired more than 10,000 immigrants from China to prepare the rail beds, dig tunnels, lay the track and build the bridges. The Union Pacific laid little track until the close of 1865 because of the war but then hired mainly Irish immigrants to do the work. Nineteen Train Tunnels Were Dug Out by Hand Excavating a tunnel was much more difficult back in the 1860s and was done by hand using hammers and chisels, making progress of about one foot each day. The Union Pacific managed to create four out of the total of 19 tunnels, but it fell to the Central Pacific to make it through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. One tunnel near Donner Pass, the infamous site where Alfred Packer turned cannibal with the Donner party, caused untold deaths of Chinese railroad workers as they froze to death digging through granite at 7,000 feet of altitude and snowfalls of up to 40 feet. A Bet Was Waged on Which Company Could Lay the Most Track in One Day Promontory Point in Utah was designated by President U.S. Grant as the place where the two different railroad lines would meet, completing the line that would lead from the Pacific to the Atlantic oceans, so naturally, the railroad crews decided to bet on which company would get there first. Charles Croker, the Central Pacific construction supervisor, bet they could lay the longest amount of track in a day against Thomas Durant’s crew, who worked for the Union Pacific. Crocker’s team won after laying 10 miles, while Durant’s team laid only seven.1 point -

Vaccines do not work on people who have not be vaccinated. If you have not been vaccinated, you may get a disease that you can transmit to another person who has not been vaccinated, and one or both of you may die of that disease. E.G. You may cause the death of a young child who then dies.1 point -

People seem to be unaware of how dangerous certain diseases are. While this article is a bit old, some sources now put the death toll to over 1200 children.
