    Who condemned Jesus?

Yes indeed. We even have record of a Pharisee who told Jesus that Herod wanted to see him, that Pharisee risked his life to warn Jesus. The Sadducees were corrupt puppets of Rome, who bribed Rome to remain in power. When Jesus cleaned the temple, the money changers were raising money to pay Pilate's bribery money.

    The One Project

Over the years, many false accusations have been made by people who have simply repeated false stories and not discovered the facts themselves. That is exactly what you did. Anyone falsely accused deserves better than that. All can face true criticism. None should have to face the false. You have made a false accusation. Investigate. Discover the truth. Engage in a discussion of the truth. I do not have a problem with that. I do have a problem with that which is false. So, should you.

    Who condemned Jesus?

The Bible contains many stories of Jesus socializing with Pharisees. His greatest apostle was a Pharisee. I don't recall a single Bible story of Jesus socializing with Sadducees. Maybe it made Him sad, you see? If believe that Jesus may have identified with true Pharisees; while He reviled the hypocritical ones.

    The One Project

One of our pastors was in one of the church's that had it and so its not 'false accusations', and there are many other sources that show the same thing. I would agree that everyone must study this to find out for themselves, and we can leave it at that.

  7. There's an old adage that bad facts make bad law, and in this case, given political exigencies, there was little to no chance that the Court would have found that the cross must be removed from public property. While we had previously anticipated that denying the case based on standing would have been the "easy answer," the Court issued a ruling today that addressed the cross on the merits. Now our attention turns to whether there is collateral damage to the substance of the Establishment Clause. Who's fooling who?

hch, While your stories make interesting reading, What you are posting is just that - a story. If you were to publish it, it would have to be classified as fiction. The historical facts may be true, but - your spiritual interpretation of history is mostly pure fiction. Plus, you are making SDA's seem like a bunch of cultish kooks. I myself have some "different" ideas about some things that I believe, or the mental constructs I put on certain things so that they make sense to me. They probably wouldn't make sense to anyone else; so I don't post them here (although some of the stuff I post admittedly runs counterculture). I feel the same way about your posts. They may make sense to you, but most of them make no sense to me. Did you ever see a movie called "A Beautiful Mind"? In a way, you remind me of the guy in that movie; except that your obsession is prophetic interpretation rather than conspiracy theories. I say the above respectfully; not to harass you. I'm sure that administrators are watching what you post.

  9. The Bible says we will be priests and kings in the Kingdom; not mindless automatons. "And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." (Rev. 1:6) "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." (Rev. 5:10) Also note that it says we will rule on earth; not in some gigantic spaceship.

    The Sabbath

Greetings Greg, Jesus is the True Rest, the True Sabbath. We find true rest in him: Matthew 11:28–30 (KJV): 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. The temporary or typical rest of the Sabbath has been superseded. Kind regards Trevor

  11. Don't forget that 2/3 of the angels and the beings on the other planets except for earth have been using their free will to Love Jesus for even longer than us who have used our freewill to sin. And it has only been the past 2,000 years that they could do this with the event of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus to have them close their probation. And after all we have been through, how many people are going to say "Hey, I really miss cancer and attending funerals, sickness and being stolen from and abused was just so much fun, let's start those days all over again!!!"

    Trivia

5 Crazy Facts About The U.S. Constitution_2 On June 21, 1788, New Hampshire became the ninth and last necessary state to ratify the Constitution of the United States, thereby making the document the law of the land. Here are five crazy facts you didn't know about this important document... Under the U.S. Constitution, You Could Become a Pirate While the Federal Government has the power to punish felonies committed by piracy, it can grant someone a letter of marque for someone to become a privateer under Article 1, Section 8. Being granted this license means you could spy on foreign ships, steal from them or even capture them, but the eye patch and Jolly Roger are not supplied. A rumor floating around during World War II was that the Goodyear Blimp was granted the right to hunt for Japanese submarines, but it was just a rumor and never substantiated. The President Might Have Been Called Something Else The title “President of the United States” wasn’t the only suggestion when it came to the debate by the Constitutional Convention on what to call the head of the executive branch. Some of the other suggestions were “Exalted Highness,” “Chief Magistrate” and “Elected Highness.” Because Article 1, Section 9 of the Constitution says titles of nobility are a no-no, "President" seemed a good and safe name to call the head of the executive branch. Patrick Henry Refused to Be a Delegate Patrick Henry, who is remembered for his statement, “Give me liberty or give me death,” was an elected delegate to attend the Constitutional Convention, but refused to participate, saying that he “smelt a rat.” Thomas Jefferson and John Adams weren’t present, and of those that were, John Hancock, who scrawled his name in huge letters of the Declaration of Independence. Samuel Adams did not attend the convention either. So the final version of the Constitution lacked the input of some great men. The Constitution Isn’t Free of Grammatical Errors Even though Americans love the U.S. Constitution, anyone would have to admit that the spelling, phrasing and punctuation aren’t what is used today. This is because it was written when English had not been standardized, so Pennsylvania is spelled several different ways, British spellings are used, and mistakes were made. William Hickey, a clerk in the U.S. Senate, noticed all the errors in words and punctuations and corrected them in the 1840s, and the corrected version was published in 1847. Not All of the Delegates Signed the Constitution Thirty-nine of the delegates ended up signing the Constitution, while 42 delegates attended the meetings. Three of the delegates refused to sign because there was no bill of rights that added protections for ordinary citizens in the new country. These were George Mason of Virginia, Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts and Edmund Randolph of Virginia.

    Who condemned Jesus?

While Jesus had a rocky relationship with the Pharisees, it was the Sadducees who had Jesus arrested and had the Sadduceen (or kangaroo) court. The Sadducee courts would have 23 elders of the Sanhedrin usually all Sadducee with the high Priest to make 24 elders, they would purposely have a mock trial with witnesses who contradicted each other as being part the mockery. Then they would usually drag their victim out and stone them to death. (Only the Roman's were allowed to use Crucifixion but they were not the only ones allowed to put to death). Now, if the Sadducee's victim was too popular they would bring them to the Roman governor (who they were paying the money from the money changing system in the Temple to bribe) who would crucify them. They understood the Old Testament verse "Cursed is anyone who dies on a tree" as meaning that only God's enemies would hang on a tree. Hanging a religious leader on a tree would be seen as a sandal on the same level as if you were to catch a pastor stealing the church funds or having an affair or anything else that could spoil a reputation. Despite the problems between Jesus and the Pharisees, they tended to be honest people who would have wanted to look for a real reason for a court decision, and among the different schools of the Pharisees they often could not agree.

    Who's fooling who?

In the quote below, HCH has demonstrated my previous comment as to approaching the Bible from the standpoint of imposing events in the common life today on the Bible. Any idea that the Bible has something to say about a vacation taken by a President of the United States is simply beyond belief. This approach holds the Bible up to ridicule and should be rejected by any person who believes in the Bible.

  17. This question is the heart of the Great Controversy. Before I turn to that may I make a comment that the logic in the question is a lot like the logics behind the American and French revolutions in the 1700s. The American Revolution was based on freedom through good laws. This is quoted by Thomas Jefferson in the rotunda of the Jefferson Memorial. And this was seen as making freedom available to all. The French Revolution was based on the idea that freedom was the absence of law. This lead to the reign of terror and the conclusion that freedom could only be trusted to the elite and that they cannot trust the common man with freedom and thus needs the elate to control the common man. As we look at the Great Controversy. God created the angels and likely life on other planets. They lived possibly billions of years, starting out with a love for God and each others, but a child's "my daddy can beat up your daddy" type of mentality. This needed to grow to a mature love. The Holy Spirit was guiding each heart. As Lucifer stood up leading worship services and seeing beings bow to pray to God it is only natural to wonder what it must be like to be God and have beings praying to you. We do similar things; what would it be like to be President. What would it be like to be a famous athlete, the home-run king, a rock star, a movie star etc. The Holy Spirit lead this natural wondering to leading Lucifer to ask excellent questions about God: What is the role between God as God and us as creatures, and Lucifer came to realize that love was a law, love for God and love for each other. This would lead to asking if God really was God and did he have a right to tell us the love him supremely and our neighbors as ourselves. What if God is only a higher life form who evolved to perfection and this idea of loving God supremely and our neighbors as ourselves was only a way to keep us in our place instead of looking out for numero uno and working ourselves to the perfection that God reached. Related to this is what happens if people decide not to love. God claims to be both just and merciful. Is it really possible to be both? For God to be just don't sinners need to die (probably God imposing a death penalty) but for God to be merciful he will have to have a way of sinners living, does that mean that the law of love is not that import after all? These were excellent questions. Lucifer and other beings could have come to understand these and it would have deepened their relationship with God. But the mystery of iniquity is why Lucifer did not look for answers. Instead he let pride take over and he just congratulated himself for being clever enough to think up these questions. God worked long with the angels and the universe. The original purpose of earth was for the angels and others to look for evidence. Now God could have just done something powerful to lay all questions a side. But freedom of choice was too important to God. He wanted them to look for hints and evidence and to make decisions based by faith step by step. There are a couple of Bible verses that point towards this such as the words translated "Without form and void" in Genesis 1 and in Genesis 2 the indication that there was a time before when man was around to cultivate the ground. But we are not given the details about this time. The waters described in Genesis 1 is also the idea of chaos. What ever happened here became chaos, but also the angels and other life forms made decisions on what they were seeing for who knows how long, but they decided which side of the Great Controversy to be on. Once that choice was made proof finally came as the Spirit of God hovered over the chaos and said "Let there be light" and there was a very special week. While the two sides were formed they were still growing. Had Lucifer and the others who sided with him just continued to experiment among themselves their hearts would have remained soft enough for God to continue to work with them. But instead they decided that they wanted to attack the newly formed beings, who were basically children. This child molestation would have needed them to harden their hearts and thus make it even harder for God to reach them. As time went by the two sides continued to make choices, as they saw the events of human history they continued to look at the hints and evidence and characters developed. History continued to the Christ event and the cross. Had Jesus not decided to go through with it that would have shown that God was indeed selfish and did not live up to the law of self sacrificing love, and therefore God could not be trusted and would have broken the life giving connection between creator and creatures. But as Jesus kept loving and allowed the sin issue to come between him and the Father and the Spirit and killing him all the life in the universe had closed their probation as they formed an unshakable decision that either nothing can make them want to leave Jesus or nothing can convince them to come to Jesus. It was only humanity that was continuing to make up our minds. But even as they closed their probation there is still growth for all eternity for the saved and until the lost finally die. This continued growth is where the investigative judgment fits in and other events. But this is what happens. We grow to either where we will rebel continuously or where nothing can shake our relationship. If your friend is married does a day come when his spouse will give up freedom of choice to be faithful to him because if she keeps her freedom of choice she will cheat on him? On his children's 21's birthday to they give up their freedom of choice otherwise they would not love their parents? Or does he on their 21st birthday give up his freedom of choice so that he can continue to love his children? (Hey, maybe we should force parents to give up their freedom of choice when the child turns 13 to get through the teen years). Just as spouses can use their freedom of choice to love and be faithful to each other, just as children can use their freedom of choice to choose to love their parents and parents to choose to love their children.

Lutherans & SDAS agree & Unite

The LCMS employs a somewhat slippery hermeneutic to justify sprinkling. Apart from a heavy reliance on the testimony of the so called 'fathers," they fail to consider the Scriptural examples of people actually being baptized. Jesus, for example, was baptized in a river. Since he came up out of the river, he was obviously baptized in the river (Matt. 3:16). When Phillip baptized, he went down into the water with his candidate and came up out of the water (Acts 8:38,39).

The Death of the Wicked (13:8)

Even in the final, awesome death of the wicked, God is still respecting the freedom and the individuality of His intelligent creatures. He has made it very plain, all through the sixty-six books of the Bible, that He doesn’t want to lose any of His children. That is certainly emphasized in the New Testament. “[The […] The post The Death of the Wicked (13:8) appeared first on Jon Paulien's Blog. View the full article
