  1. This goes along with what I heard once, "We will have the capacity to sin (in heaven), but we won't want to." Just like the angels in heaven now, they still have the power of choice. But when they see what our world is like now, there is no way they would be tempted to follow Satan.

    Questions and Answers (13:11)

Lou: This question has come up again and again: “If God is as kind as Jesus is, how can He turn and destroy sinners in the end?” Graham: If all God really wants is love and trust freely given, He can’t say, “You give Me that, or I’ll destroy you.” So that leads me to […] The post Questions and Answers (13:11) appeared first on Jon Paulien's Blog. The One Project

I gave my testimony above as well on the positive benefits of the One Project. Who do you believe (I'm guessing it's this pastor who spoke negatively; since that better fits your "judgement" of the One Project)? I guess the only way to find out for sure would have been to attend a gathering yourself. Too bad you missed it.

    A New SDA Hymnal Needed?

B/W, Was the picture you posted from a video, or was it a still picture. I've seen some kid's videos that use weird creatures to teach important spiritual lessons to kids. "Veggie Tales" comes to mind. Sometimes I think we project God to be a real "stick-in-the-mud"; that He has little to no sense of humor; and only likes music that was written before 1940. If God truly loves every human, He loves those who do things differently than us old white guys. Hymnal or screen, traditional or contemporary, I will sing my heart out at worship, because that's one of the only times I truly feel caught up in the Spirit.

Lutherans & SDAS agree & Unite

Gustave, Please note Chaplain Matthews response: " I would not state that SDAs view the other forms of baptism as an offense to God. I would simply say that SDAs consider immersion to be the Biblical way." I agree wholeheartedly. Sprinkling is no more a baptism than Sunday is a Sabbath.

A great example for all of us to follow. I do remember another mistake you made a while back. You said you were wrong about something that you were actually right about!

    A New SDA Hymnal Needed?

I have no problems with hymnals; but I think that's because I'm old. I grew up with hymnals. IMHO many of the 75% of the population that is younger than I am relate more to screens than hymnals. What are we gonna put in a new hymnal - the same songs that are in the old hymnal or a bunch of 7/11 songs (7 words repeated 11 times)? Who will decide?

Photodude: Your are correct. I was wrong. Thank you for your correction. I apologize to you for what I said that was wrong. Folks, I expect that discussion here can be frank. I am not always correct. I can be wrong. When I am wrong, I am willing to acknowledge it and apologize.

Photodude: Your statement (Changing out David for a female. . .) seems to indicate that the pin depicts two girls on the pin, which is exactly what your cited source (In your post above.) says. That is false witness. Both your cited source which claims that there are two girls on the pin is false. Your implication that there are two girls on the pin is false. There are two (2) Pathfinders on the pin. One is a male, who may be compared to David. So, it is false to suggest that David was changed out for a girl. the second Pathfinder on the pin is a girl. But, it is not fair to say that David was changed out for her. A more truthful statement, if you had wanted to be accurate, might have been to say that on the pin, David is depicted as accompanied by a girl. Or, you might say that David was not depicted at all. I suggest that you look at and read the following to document what I have said. http://www.nadministerial.com/stories/2019/6/20/nextgen-pastor-pin-collection-for-chosen-international-pathfinder-camporee?fbclid=IwAR1LrmATyY_bjXzONr_YrDnlIumFFF_C9optMWx8leIR6F6E-Z4Mfhg4Vbs I hope that in the future, you will make some kind of an effort to determine the truthfulness of an accusation that you are making. It would have taken very little effort on your part for you to have seen that the pin actually has both a boy and a girl on it. It would have taken little more effort for you to have read the official statement that both a boy and a girl were on the pin.

    Who's fooling who?

Thank you for your comments. I hope no one thinks I am one of those who values the SOP books over the Bible or any other writers over the Bible. But it seems to me that we as a church were especially blessed by the messages given to the church thru Sister Ellen. And after almost 2000 years with no prophets receiving visions, it is encouraging that the silence was broken. This is not to say that many others faithful to God did not receive inspiration from heaven in their work for God. I have had people who did not want to refer to SOP books saying they only wanted to read from the Bible. I find this interesting as if I took this to a logical conclusion, I would not listen to them either! Books from writers no longer with us are a way for them to remain a part of a discussion even after death. I find it interesting to be reading a chapter in the Testimonies, and every paragraph I find myself thinking that would be a good sermon. Next paragraph a different sermon. And this can go one for quite some time. There are those who refuse to quote Sister Ellen in sermons at church. This I find disturbing and I soon find they lack a bit of credibility attempting to preach in an SDA church and have no use for Sister Ellen. However, I have also known those more interested in what Sister Ellen says than what the Bible says. This is also wrong in its own way. So, there is a lot to be said for moderation and not going off deep ends on either side of the EGW writings discussion.

  15. The Bible says we will be priests and kings in the Kingdom; not mindless automatons. "And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." (Rev. 1:6) "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." (Rev. 5:10) Also note that it says we will rule on earth; not in some gigantic spaceship.
