    Apologetics

See: https://spectrummagazine.org/views/2019/limits-apologetics The above article goes back to Plato, the Sophists and others. I attrated my attention due to the fact that a frequent contributor to the discussions in this forum is a Roman Catholic Apologist. I thought it might be of interest to hear what he has to say in response to this article. However, the article soon turns its focus to we SDAs and clearly points the finger at us and what we sometimes do in debating a point that we believe should be made. So, my Catholic friend, the the focus of this article is not on you. It is on us. NOTE: I will also state that I appreciate the integrity that our Apologist has demonstrated here.

    Under Law

A friend once told me that it took 7 years for her to embrace the Sabbath. She was Church of Christ. Because someone does not immediately change their thinking or behavior, does not mean they never will. Most humans have to struggle with things for awhile. Learning more does not make more things "sin". It just makes the learner accountable for those sins. As we draw nearer to Christ, we see more of our own filthiness. It does make us pray more earnestly, for His promised cleansing. And that's good. It does make us sympathize with the monumental work that Christ has to accomplish - curing billions of sin/selfishness. When we refuse to "look in the mirror", we are hindering the work of Christ - to present His Father's law, lived out in human lives. If we don't "see" our sin, we won't ask for forgiveness and healing. And if we don't ask, we won't receive.

    My Son Christopher

Today (8/23/2019) as I picked up my mail, I noticed the September (2019) copy of Adventist Journey. There, on the cover, in 4-color, was the face of my son, Christopher. I showed it to my wife, she agreed with me. Then, I showed it to Christopher, who is visiting us, and he agreed. No, it actually was not Christopher. It was Justin Khoe, But Christopher and Justin seemingly look close enough to be twins. So, if anyone wants to know what my 3rd son looks like, take a look at Justin on the cover of the September Adventist Journey.

    Dress Code

WHBAE and THX4MERCY My understanding of how to dress in church is to dress modestly and have clean clothes==== I have been members of several S.D.A. churches and seen different type of dress and in the church I am presently attending some ladies wear dresses===some wear panties suits=== some wear shirt and skirts but they are modest -==== some men wear dress pants and dress shirts no tie====some men wear dress pants and dress shirts with tie ===some men have dress shirt and dress pants no tie but wear a dress coat====some men wear dress pants dress shirt ==tie and dress coat the main point here is to dress with nice clothes===clean clothes and dress modestly dgrimm60

    SDA White Supreamacy?

Article is leftist BS. SDA's are "afraid" of the papacy and RCC? I don't really see that where I live. And even if we were, most of the Catholics and popes that I am aware of are white! So how does "being afraid of Catholics" turn out to be "white supremacy"? Seems like the subject SS teacher was more likely to go shoot up a Catholic Church than a black Baptist one. That being said, there are likely quite a few SDA's (and members of other denominations) who have been or are being radicalized against people of color; just like there are people of color being radicalized against whites. There was a protest song written by the Kingston Trio several years ago. One of the verses was: The whole world is festering with unhappy souls; The French hate the Germans, the Germans hate the Poles Italians hate Yugoslavs; South Africans hate the Dutch; And I don't like anybody very much! How much more true is the spirit of this song now than it was 60 years ago! But it's not limited to SDA's.

    Under Law

So true! If it were programmed into us, we wouldn't need the law. We were given the Law so we would know what sin is. " I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” (Rom. 7:7)

I come again ? 2 Corinthians 13:2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:

And come together 1 Cointhians 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
