I turned Hope TV on today and watched a few minutes of a program that told a story that I suggest may be of interest to us as to how God works and in ways that we might not expect. [NOTE: Hope TV is a SDA, International, religious channel broadcasting in the US on Directv, and by other means.] TJ, as I shall call him was a Hindu living in a region of India that did not have a SDA presence. One night, he was awakened by a dream in which he had been shown a cross and informed that he should follow that cross. In that village, was a Roman Catholic Christian. So, TV contacted that person who introduced him to a priest and following some studies, TJ Became a Roman Catholic Christian. After a passage of time, an independent, Protestant group came into the village. That group offered to give TJ additional training in Christian ministry, and TJ spent two (2) years undergoing that training. When TJ finished that training they hired him to do ministry and for the next seven (7) years, TJ worked for them doing such. Then his funding from that group went away. About that time, TJ had began reaching out to a Seventh-day Adventist pastor who had come to the area. This outreach resulted in TJ and several others joining the SDA Church. That SDA pastor was connected with an independent SDA group that is not funded by the SDA Church, but is recognized by the SDA Church and works closely with the SDA denomination. As that group considered TJs background, training and experience, it invited him to join with them in gospel outreach. TJ accepted their offer, and now works with them, in a relationship where he is not funded by the SDA denomination and in one sense has some responsibility for raising his own salary needs. My point: God used an interesting route, and varied people, to prepare TJ to work as he now is doing.

    Needed A New Adventism?

I missed it when this article came around on Aug 2, and looked it over this time and was saddened to see such an article but that has become the way things are in this day and age. In fact, it was also one of the prophesies of that "historical" church mentioned. As long as I can remember, it was told that there would come a day when members of the Seventh-day Adventist would depart from the truth that we held for so long. "In some ways, we are a bit gnostic. It is part of our culture to believe we have unique insight, glimpses of hidden information. Knowledge is paramount. Have you noted the names of some ministries? Secrets Unsealed. Amazing Facts. Amazing Discoveries. Brochures for evangelistic meetings reek of mysterious beasts, coming doom, hidden knowledge revealed, and the promise of disclosure of insider information to help listeners get on the inside with us." Edward Reifsnyder A unique view of Bible prophecy has been one of the pillars of the Seventh-day Adventist church since it's very beginning. No other church holds many of the doctrinal beliefs that we do. Is that reason to throw them out? And why was it is important for this author to make everything look so cultish by ragging on the names of the different ministries? Jesus once said to his disciples, "For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them." Matthew 13:17 I have for sometime been convicted that in this day and age we have been blessed by many of our beliefs when we now understand that many of the righteous men and prophets of old did not. They were sealed prophecies that we have had opened up to us. The sobering truth is that one can be the world’s foremost expert in the doctrines, prophecies, SDA “distinctives,” healthful living, and theologies of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and still be disconnected from Jesus and salvation, still be an unloving and unlovable human being. On the other hand, a person can be solidly connected with Jesus, relying on Jesus, trusting in Jesus, saved by Jesus while also being an ignoramus on our “distinctives.” What does that tell you about priorities? We should never, never, ever let our knowledge-laden cart get ahead of the Jesus horse. Edward Reifsnyder The fact that one could be well versed in doctrines, prophecies, and other SDA theologies and still not be saved is no reason to discard them. That one could know all these things and still be lost is a no brainer. Satan understands them better than any of us and is still destined to be brought to ashes. Jesus did say "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:19-20 Given that most of our prophecies came from the Bible especially from that book called by some "The Revealing of Jesus Christ", I believe that we were commissioned to teach these prophecies. I could probably go on and on with this, but nuff said. I personally think it is time to discontinue using AdventistToday as any source of information and/or inspiration regarding current events as this age comes to a close.

    Who's fooling who?

Moderator note: It may be true that HCH is giving away for free, the recent MP3 book that he cited. But, this should not be construed to indicate that none of the books that HCH has written are ever sold. As an example, His 402 page book, The Highest Loyalty currently is being sold for $7.77, on the Internet. I suspect that a review of other books that HCH has written would also be found on the Internet for sale for a specified price. On the basis of this, I do not believe that HCH is accurate when he tells us that Stinsonsmarri is bearing false witness.

Spirit of prophecy ✨ Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

    Trivia

5 Things You Didn't Know About Princess Diana On Aug. 31, 1997, Britain's Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris at age 36. Her boyfriend, the Egyptian-born socialite Dodi Fayed, and the driver of the car, Henri Paul, died as well. Here are 5 things you didn't know about "The People’s Princess"... Diana Was the First Royal to Have a Non-Custom Wedding Ring. Before Diana and Charles got married, engagement rings in the royal household were custom-made, created specifically for the person receiving the ring. Diana's ring came from a catalog; in other words, it was not custom-made, and it was common. This raised more of a stink than you'd think it was worth. The ring was beautiful, but because it wasn't a rare work of art, there were those in the household who thought it an inappropriate choice. That attitude didn't last long; the ring is now Kate Middleton's wedding ring, presented to her by Prince William, who has said it was a way to ensure Diana didn't miss out on his wedding. Her Grandmother Was Part of the Royal Household and Central to a Family Feud. Diana's grandmother, Lady Ruth Fermoy, used to be a lady-in-waiting to the Queen Mother. She was also the person to give key testimony against Diana's mother (Fermoy's own daughter -- not her daughter-in-law) in a custody battle when Diana was a child, and she often sided with the royal household against Diana herself when Diana and Charles divorced. Diana was quoted as saying her grandmother "has done a real hatchet job" on her mother in terms of royal reputation. Diana Was the First Royal to Omit the "Obey" Portion of Her Wedding Vows. Wedding vows used to contain a phrase about women obeying their husbands, and even before the 1980s this phrase, understandably, had already started falling out of favor with women. Diana was the first British royal to dump the phrase, however, because one simply did not interfere with royal tradition, at least until she showed up. Diana and Charles purposefully omitted the word and brought the royals in line with most of society; Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, and Princess Eugenie all omitted "obey" from their vows as well. She Was Related to Humphrey Bogart. It's not that unusual to find actors related to royalty, but Diana had some rather close celeb relatives. Perhaps the most well-known is Humphrey Bogart, a seventh cousin, but she was also related to Rudolph Valentino and Lillian Gish. One of her closer relatives is actor Oliver Platt, whose great-grandmother was Diana's maternal grandfather's sister. One of Her Favorite Movies Was Apparently the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Rocky Horror Picture Show is not a movie that you typically associate with the royal family, but now you can. Tim Curry, who played Dr. Frank N. Furter, once said that when he met Diana backstage after a theater performance, she mentioned that the film had "completed" her education and had a rather sly expression on her face.

    Death of a Volunteer

See: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-08-15/sda-church-guilty-over-death-of-teenager-at-fundraiser/11415884 NOTE: To our friends reading this post, this death is associated with an independent congregation that is not associated with the Seventh-day Adventist denomination. The death remains tragic.
