Annual Council Agenda--Death of One Issue.
JoeMo and 2 others reacted to Gregory Matthews for a topic
The agenda for the 2019 Annual Council is being developed. The system of Compliance Committees favored by President Ted appears to be dead and gone to that resting place of the dead. Policy on abortion is being worked upon and it remains to be seen what will actually happen as agreement has not yet been reached. 2 Peter 2:5 and if he did not spare the ancient world, but did protect Noah, a herald of righteousness, along with seven others, when God brought a flood on an ungodly world, (NET) The word translated as "herald" is also translated as "preacher". It is 2783, meaning one who proclaims the Kings messages, or the LORD's messages. Sounds as if Noah was at least warning folks about the coming flood.2 points -

Just thinking here: 1. There had never been rain on the earth. No one had ever thought of building a boat to survive a gigantic water disaster. The scenario you suggest would mean that other men - in other areas "found grace in the sight of the LORD". The LORD would have had to instruct the other men to build great boats. 2. All humanity was concentrated in one large land area, with one language. There were no widely separated continents before the flood. The land masses drifted apart during and because of, the Flood. So there was no separate America, no Australia, no Europe, etc., with different languages. Not that people groups could not have lived in different parts of the one super-continent land mass. 3. Up through the Tower of Babel and confusion of language, the Bible is the history of the human race - all of it - or so it claims to be.2 points -

Essentially those who know that 99.9% of people don’t understand the data their lie is based on, repeat the lie because they know we can’t refute it - at least not without a course in nuclear physics. So they get away with it. Folks who trust the “scientists”, believe them when they tell us that the universe is 15 billion years old, that mankind evolved from primordial slime, therefore the Bible cannot be actual history.1 point -

Watched another creation science video. RADIOACTIVE DATING AND A YOUNG EARTH Lecture by Jim Mason Ph.D. This one is for physics majors. Or if you just want to be convinced that a self-respecting scientist with a Ph.D. in experimental Nuclear Physics can also be a young earth creationist. It’s technical. He has lots and lots of good color illustrations. Concludes in four different ways, that radiometric dating is VERY unreliable.1 point -

Genesis 7:23 "And God blotted out every offspring which was upon the face of the earth, both man and beast, and reptiles, and birds of the sky, and they were blotted out from the earth, and Noe was left alone, and those with him in the ark. (LXA)1 point -

Lou: Graham, you and I know that the Seventh-day Adventist denomination is strongly connected with this third angel’s message. How was it that our church came to identify with the third angel’s message? Graham: It’s actually something of a historical accident. The Adventist pioneers saw the three angels happening in a historical order. The first […] The post Questions and Answers (16:8) appeared first on Jon Paulien's Blog. View the full article1 point -

For some years I've been collecting videos and books on creation science, and on the creation account in the Scriptures. The best ones I post on prophecyviewpoint.com under the Reading and Resources page. I watched a good one yesterday. Lecture by Jonathan Sarfati. Title: "SIX DAYS ... REALLY? Refuting compromise from the Scriptures." This one presents some Scripture passages that support a literal six day creation. He breaks down the Hebrew words, comparing passages. He sited passages that I had not connected with this argument. This one is not presenting the scientific arguments. It is presenting Scriptural proofs - to show that the Genesis account is supported all the way through to Revelation. Sarfati made some very good arguments explaining why long age evolution is not compatible with the Scriptures. And long age creationism is a compromise imposed upon the Scriptures. His lecture made it very clear that one cannot have it both ways. One either believes the Bible account, or something else. I should say that I do not agree with all of Sarfati's other beliefs. He believes in the forever Hell, and the immortality of the soul, etc. etc. In grammar school, at SDA academy, and even at SDA college and university, there really was not much creation science. One was just supposed to accept the creation account from Scripture. I'm very glad that many Phd level scientists in recent years have come together to share the science that supports the six day creation account in the Bible. I am NOT a scientist. So I cannot argue the science - though I find it fascinating. I refer serious students of science to the scientists, like those from Creation Ministries International.1 point -

I'm sure the other antediluvians heard that Noah was building a great big boat, and I'm sure many came by to ask Noah - "WHAT are you doing?" I doubt Noah just stared at them, without saying anything.1 point -

September 6, 2019, 3:15 AM, in California. As I write this it is 8:15 PM in Australia. I am going to assume that With the weekend, here, I am not going to receive anything more, at least until Monday. So, I am going to review what I have done in regard to the charges against Susan M., a SDA clergy person in Australia. When I first read the charge against Susan M, posted in this thread by Photodude, and I followed up by reading the source that he cited I was troubled, both by the actual charges and by some unanswered questions that I had about the factual basis of the charges. So, I decided that I would attempt to determine certain facts and in addition to contact the Conference that employed Susan. I quickly determined that Susan was listed as a Pastor in the Avondale congregation. One of the Conference officials did respond to my request for information. I found his response to be of value. However, he was speaking as an individual. He informed me that any publication of a response would need to be approved by an administrative process within the Conference, which has not been done. He has also suggested that I contact Susan directly, as he believed that she would welcome my questions. As I reviewed what he had said to me, and considered putting it into my words, I decided that such would not be helpful and I would not do that. I decided that some statements on this issue should only be made by an identified source. I have attempted to contact, by e-mail, Susan. However, my only e-mail address for her is one that goes through the Avondale Church. I have not been able to obtain a direct e-mail address for her. So, while I have sent her a message, by way of the Avondale congregation, I can not be certain that she has actually received it. In my research, I have considered what the Conference official said to me about the book. I have read advertisements for it and I have read reviews, by people about the section that Susan wrote. In reading those various reports, I have discovered an important disconnect. There is an issue that I believe to be important to this discussion on which statements have been made that are directly, as I understand them, opposite to each other. In my thinking, this issue is important as to what I think about Susan's authorship of a chapter in that book. I would have liked to have seen Susan and/or the Conference respond to this issue. I am not going to speculate on the actual fact as to this issue. The reality is that I do not have enough verified information to have an opinion on some aspects of this issue. I am not going to speculate beyond what I can say is actual fact. Personally, I have spent enough time and emotional energy in attempting to contact both Susana and the Conference. So, at this point, absent any further information from either Susan or the Conference, I am through. I am not going to make any further attempt to determine the facts. Speaking as Moderator, in this forum: I am not, at this time, closing this thread. The post by Photodude and the discussion has been within the boundaries of what we allow on this forum. But, this does not mean that it would be appropriate to engage in unlimited speculation, and conversation that does not have a verified factual basis. So, I am requesting that we maintain some limits as to what we post here. To all who have been reading and posting in this thread, thank you for your boundaries up to now. Gregory Matthews1 point -

Gregory Matthew: I will take the blame because, I think I started the whole thing with my comments. So I will say I am sorry and will not bring it up again. I will adhere to the rules of the forum. I hope I will be able to stand up when someone accuse me falsely. I always to best of my ability provide facts. That's all! Blessings!1 point -

Photodue: It is so sad that you see what you want to see! Yes, I call him a liar and I never ever said that leaders in the Democratic does not lie. If so find anywhere I have written and prove it to me. I have said many times I do not take up for both parties in many things. I also will stand here boldly and state that some Black people have done things that I am ashamed of! But, what on earth do my education have to relate to me calling Trump a liar? Not religiously just simply truthly that does not make sense! The Democratic party has had racism, but they have slowly changed. Matter of fact President Clinton proved that, when his wife was running and I have stated that here on this forum! So you knows how I get my facts right? Wrong because nothing I have sent had to do with Clinton's lawyer-prove it! I have even said here that Clinton took people for granted and she should have spoken up about the email earlier! That does not make her a person that committed the things he has done. They were friends for years until HE turned and joined the Republican party and he a right to change but you don't turned on your friends!!!!! Proved all the lawyers were Clinton lawyers! Mullier was also a Republican with great military honors! But, I will not let you believe that I want to trash anyone! If you lie, you lie, that is not trashing. Here are some of the many lies he has told: Russia did interfere with election - he said they didn't, he did sleep with Stormy, he lied and said he didn't! Checks were shown and Cohen is in jail that proved he did. Plus, Julian1 said one thing then changed it said that it was alright to sleep her. He said he had a larger crowd then Obama, he didn't and pictures proved that! I do not care who had the larger crowd but he is the one that brought it up, who cares! He said Mexico was going to build the wall-HE LIED! The reason weather he said the hurricane was going to hit Alabama, the national weather put out that Alabama was not going to be hit. He refuse and stated it again and brought a map with an noticeable marker was added, he did we all know he did the he lie and said he did not know. He said he was the chosen one-that's A LIE! He said that he and China were on the phone when he at the G7 summit, CHINA said they did not talk to him. He tweets, and stand and says things on TV and everybody hears it! So how on earth can I trash a person who openly lies? Clinton lied, Bush lied, Reagan lied and on and on. Then you want to get upset with me telling you the truth about him being racist, he is and he himself proves it! I do not know when some of you will realize that this person has proven before over and over with lawsuits over the years, the things he has done. I am not here to lie to anyone because you know when I have done something wrong I will stand up and apologize. Do you never! But that's on you! I have no animosity in my heart against you and I never will. But you always want to put a bridge between the two of us. Trump is not on this forum, you are and I would love if we can find a middle ground. That does not mean I will change for what I have said about Trump because it is true! I am also not asking you to accept what I said, you have a right to your views as I do mine. But do not tell me that I have up hold anyone who is doing wrong because I don't! I am striving to make it agreeable for you and I to talk to each other with love that's all! It does no good for us not to get alone and agreed to disagree! Blessings!1 point -
