The Bereans were checking to see whether Jesus could be the Messiah spoken of in the Scriptures. If Paul had been teaching that Jesus had set aside portions of God's Law, and had made fundamental changes so that actions that were formerly sinful would no longer be sinful (as it sounds like you are teaching about Christ), the Bereans would never have been able to confirm any of that from the Old Testament scrolls that they searched daily. The New Covenant says, "For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more,” but it doesn't say that God would change the definition of iniquity or of sin so that actions that were formerly wrong would become right.2 points

Last Generation Theology
phkrause and one other reacted to Kevin H for a topic
Excellent post JoeMo. Jesus has promised us the victory. Mrs. White does talk about a last generation righteousness. The issue is that we have her view and the view that is popular. Now I will say that I do not understand Justification to be a one time event. I understand that Mrs. White sees Justification and conversion to mean the same thing. It is a moment by moment accepting what Jesus has done for us. It and Sanctification are two sides of a same coin where you never have the one without the other. Sanctification is the response to justification/conversion. When we look at the thief on the cross. People say that he did not have the time for a sanctification life, but isn't comforting a dying man a good work? Isn't preaching the gospel a good work? Who was the only one comforting Jesus when he was on the cross? Who was the only one preaching the gospel that day? He could not do much but he did all he could. Justification is an attitude of more more about Jesus, and Sanctification is what come out from learning more more about Jesus. Where I see Mrs. White disagreeing with the LGT people is that Mrs. White has seen a few people of every generation who have become so in love with Jesus that there is nothing that can shake their faith. And she saw their perfection as a relationship they have with Jesus. The LGT people look for a different quality than ever before. They see mediation and intercession as Jesus asking the father to forgive us. They can't see how there can be people of every generation who has reached this perfection. After all there were generations where the Sabbath was not kept, or where they were not vegans and a whole list of dos and don'ts. And as you said they are often judgmental and condemning. Too often this theology attracts two and a little bit a third types of people: first those who are very controlling, who like to tell people what to do. In the letters I've read from Mrs. White and Willie wrote to the pastors who are very popular with the LGT people, they complained that they were using Mrs. White's words to force their view on to others. The second group are those who like to have some power over them, some one to think for them where they don't have to think but just obey. They are very willing to submit to the controllers. It encourages a relationship of headship and submission. There is a third group, which has two sub groups. This third group are those who are looking for a deeper relationship with God, and they admire the relationship these people appear to have with God. This group often leaves. The first subgroup are those who are turned off by them being judgmental and condemning and go more towards a more moderate approach. The second subgroup is a very sad group that I've seen way too many people in. They have moments where there is a spiritual revival in their lives and they want to get their lives together and become fully devoted to Jesus and they join this group. Then they loose heart and sadly give up religion and get into smoking, drinking, drugs and very unreligious behavior. Then they might have another revival and just go back and forth between these two extremes. Often in this group they are constantly pointing out failures in the church and seem to believe that the gospel as the good news that the church is going to hell in a hand-basket. I remember reading this one news letter where there was an article on the importance of the color red is to the Roman Catholic church. The next article was an announcement that Loma Linda University was going to call attention to red ribbon week. This gives them the encouragement that they are the chosen few. They see heaven as being so narrow that this gives them some hope. The Pentecostals feel this hope in their speaking in tongues, we find it in keeping a list of do's and don'ts and seeing how others are way below us in their growth. Sadly this feeds our sinful nature, or a disposition in us to think we are for ourselves by making less of the outside world, to esteem ourselves more highly than others, to serve self to seek the highest place. They are trying to reach a point on their dos and don'ts that Jesus no longer needs to ask the father to forgive us because we are not doing anything that needs forgiveness. Mrs. White's view does not leave room for these. Mrs. White is looking for people who, and it was noticed that she seems to describe John Wesley. Jesus' intercession and mediation is not asking the father to forgive us, but asking us to accept the father's love. We can stand before God without a mediator or intercessor because Jesus has totally won us over and no longer needs to try to win us over, but only love him more and more. We are going to find very hard times in last day events. Before falling to total chaos there will be a short time where it appears that the toes have joined together. There will be a time of peace and prosperity as never before with very expensive goods from all over the world being available. However this system will either cause us to either have to sacrifice something that goes against our conscience, or else tempt us to want to force others to give up something that goes against their conscience. Mrs. White says that among Christians the issues of Sabbath and Sunday will bring the test to us, and this also indicates that she sees similar but other tests outside of the Christian world. We read "Sunday laws" into everything at this time. But to Mrs. White Sunday laws are only a part of the issue. The true issue is liberty of conscious. Will we follow our conscience and will we allow others to follow their conscience, or will we want to force them to go against their conscious for the greater good. During this time Satan will be impersonating Jesus saying some of the same words that Jesus said. He will be encouraging us to go along with this system. And when we say "I'm sorry but Jesus is really Satan" what will we do when we hear him say to us with tears in his voice "How can Satan cast out Satan?" All of our senses will convince us that this is Jesus and the demons impersonating our loved ones will be a perfect copy. We are going to feel like we are lost in rejecting this being to follow our understanding of the Bible and to follow our conscience. Meanwhile that book we choose to follow, the Bible, it has the same problems that Walter Rea pointed out with Mrs. White. A lot of copying, not as perfect as the fundamentalists would like it to be. What we saw in our church when the Walter Rea book came out we are going to see on a much larger scale as Christians can no longer close their eyes about these problems in the Bible. The Bible will be seen as untrustworthy, and why should we accept this book with errors and contradictions and a lot of copying. And why do we need to deal with this book when we have Jesus and the Bible writers here among us, we can turn to them instead of this book. And we will look crazy for holding on to this book. We will be going through the time of Jacobs trouble. Jesus thought that he was giving up life eternally by bearing our sins to the cross. We will think we are giving up eternal life by holding on to the Bible and following our conscious and allowing others to follow their conscious and rejecting this beautiful being who our senses say is Jesus. As things fall apart, probably as we are dealing with global warming and maybe some limited nuclear warfare, the blame will fall on those who did not go along with the system. But God's people will be delivered.2 points -

Last Generation Theology

WhileI don't put as much faith in the writings of EGW as others, she had a lot of great things to say. While I'm not committed to her idea that the RCC is the beast/antichrist, I do believe that a resurgence of a worldwide "mystery religion" will either result in or br the result of a one-world government prior to the antichrist declaring himself to be God. We are constantly at war with evil spiritual forces in dark places whether we want to be or not. We must choose to be soldiers in the fight or we will be casualties. If we are to be soldiers, we should train to be effective fighters. "The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work." (1 John 3:8b) If we are to reflect the character of Christ, isn't that our calling as well - to destroy the devil's work? Concerning justification to be a single event, I do have a little cognitive dissonance with that. If everyone who claimed belief in Jesus - even for a while - were "locked" into Kingdom existence, it seems to me that there would be some who had long ago lost their faith and have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the Kingdom. I don't think God would do that ( but He is God; so He can do as He pleases). However, what about the one who dies believing and depending on Jesus to save Him, even though He led a wretched life right up to His death (like the thief on the cross)? Scripture seems to say those will be in heaven. I am seriously considering that people's progress though the sanctification process here on earth will determine their position in the human hierarchy of heaven. As much as I'd love to be among those at the wedding feast of the Lamb, (the 144,000?) I think I'd be happy to just clean up the banquet hall afterwards for the privilege of being in the Kingdom.1 point -

There you go putting yourself above everyone because people do not agree with you. If you are truly a messenger, give the message and allow THE HOLY SPIRIT to convict and not YOU! When others explain your misgivings be gracious. We all have sin including you and come short of THE GLORY of YAHWEH! I am praying for you brother, Happy Sabbath!1 point -

I guess you haven't heard, Pence was in on it too! You need to please stop thinking you are a prophet! You are not my friend! His aide heard the conversation, he read the transcript and he flew over by the man in the Whitehouse order to speak the Ukraine President. He was the one that told the President that he would not get the money unless he does the favor you know who wanted done! So when you tell people that they are doom, I would advise you to be careful because the same words came back on YOU! You really are doing what the Bible says not to do not to judge or you will be judge! I hope that it doesn't happen to you. I want you to be saved and I am praying that you will. Happy Sabbath with Love and Justice!1 point -

Bombadier beetles are an amazing tribute to creation. The hot noxious chemicals in their emission is produced in a chamber by their anuses that resembles a modern rocket engine. Two highly reactive but non-toxic substances are mixed in this chamber; and the violent exothermic reaction results is a highly toxic substance that resembles rocket fuel at a temperature approaching 100 degrees Celsius. Even hard core evolutionists have a hard time explaining how this system could just "evolve".1 point -

5 Surprising Things You Didn't Know About Sputnik On October 4, 1957, the Space Age began as the Soviet Union launched Sputnik, the first man-made satellite, into orbit. Here are five surprising facts you probably didn't know about the world’s first artificial satellite... Sputnik 1 Was a Lot Smaller Than You Think When people think of satellites, they probably envision a huge mechanism, but Sputnik 1 was only 23 inches wide and weighed 184 pounds. Sputnik’s antennas were double-barreled, and the longest one measured 12.8 feet. As a comparison, the Cassini Saturn orbiter, launched in 1997, was closer to the size of the average school bus. The Rocket Carrying Sputnik Almost Failed to Launch Sputnik 1 was launched by a rocket with four boosters strapped to the second stage, but the main engine of the rocket was slow in reaching the power levels it needed. This caused the rocket to pitch a few seconds after liftoff, and it deviated from its trajectory slightly. However, the engine achieved the performance it needed from 18 to 20 seconds after it lifted off. Sputnik 1 settled into its orbit as planned, making a revolution of the Earth at a rate of every 96 minutes. The Satellite Was Launched Earlier Than its Scheduled Date Although the launch of Sputnik 1 was originally scheduled for October 6, Sergei Korolev, the Soviet rocketry and spacecraft designer, was sent a telegram saying that the Americans were ready to send a probe out into space. He had the schedule for the launch of Sputnik 1 pushed up by two days to beat that launch. However, the message he received had been poorly translated, and the Americans had no launch planned at that time. The Satellite Was Out in Space Only for a Short Time The silver/zinc batteries powering Sputnik 1 were only expected to work for about two weeks. However, the satellite sent out radio signals for 22 days, exceeding all expectations. After the batteries died, it continued its circuit around the planet, with its orbit slowly decaying. It was finally lost when it burned up on re-entry on January 4, 1958. The Launch of Sputnik Led to Two Famous American Agencies The successful launch of Sputnik 1 was an exciting technological achievement, which made the public fear the Soviets might be able to launch nuclear weapons via ballistic missile and strike the United States. Officials in America decided it was time to boost the country’s technological capabilities and formed the Advanced Research Projects Agency in 1958, which later became DARPA. Later that year, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was formed in October 1958.1 point -
Last Generation Theology

I have resisted the LGT movement because of my past unpleasant experiences with those whose theology preceded LGT. Their judgmental, condemning, "we're watching you" attitudes totally turned me off. I recently started reading a Book called "The Kingdom, Power, and Glory" by Chuck and Nancy Missler. I'm not that far into it, but it's got me thinking. Very briefly, it proposes that while justification is a one-time event in our lives, sanctification is the work of a lifetime (kinda what we as SDA's believe). It proposed that the sanctification process is our training program in this realm that will determine our standing in the eternal Kingdom. The further along we get in that training program in this realm, the greater our authority and responsibility we will have in the Kingdom as priests and Kings. Those who overcome (i.e., are successful in their training here on earth) will be given authority and responsibility for people groups and nations. Those who are overcome (i.e., fail in their training here on earth) will have lesser authority and responsibility in the Kingdom until they finish their training in reflecting Christ. But if they have put faith in their Redeemer - in spite of their failure to reflect His character - they are in the Kingdom. I'm not sure this means attaining sinlessness in this life; but it sure has me wanting to redouble my efforts (through God's grace) to more perfectly reflect Christ's character in thought, word, and deed. I've always been a good student; I want to be a good student in my Kingdom training as well. I'd rather "inherit" the Kingdom rather than just be a subject in it.1 point -
