Why did Jesus compare Himself to a snake?

Greetings Jeff W, While not endorsing all that is said in the video, another perspective is that the word Seraphim in Isaiah 6 seems to be related to the word used for fiery serpents. This could also be a link to John 3:14-15, and also to John 12:32 and John 12 has other links to Isaiah 6, for example John 12:40-41. I understand the brasen serpent to represent the flesh, but uniquely connected with Jesus he is the same human flesh as descended from Adam, but with Jesus he never sinned. Nevertheless, even though he never sinned, and his flesh was purified by fire, as with the altar of burnt offering, Jesus was teaching by his voluntary death, the need to crucify the flesh with its affections and lusts. Kind regards Trevor

The 7 Last Plagues - When? What?

Revelation 15:1-3 "And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels who had seven plagues, which are the last, because in them the wrath of God is finished. 2 And I saw, as it were, a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who had come off victorious from the beast and from his image and from the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of God. 3 And they sang the song of Moses the bond-servant of God and the song of the Lamb, saying, 'Great and marvelous are Thy works, O Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Thy ways, Thou King of the nations.'" (NAS) The victorious (over the Beast) are seen standing on "the sea of glass" BEFORE the last seven plagues are poured out. Makes me think the saints are resurrected/translated BEFORE the seven last plagues are poured out. Perhaps they are removed from this earth on the same day the plagues begin, or maybe 7 days before the plagues begin - similar to Noah and the closed door on the ark. Same cannot be said of the "trumpets", beginning back in Revelation Cpt 8. Trumpets were warnings of worse to come. Last plagues are "the last".

Why did Jesus compare Himself to a snake?

Jesus also became sin for us; hence the serpent representation. "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Cor. 5:21)

    Under Law

Me too. I think we've pretty much beat this topic to death. I might start a new topic called "Under Grace". If I truly am in Jesus Christ, I am under grace, not Law. Truth is not a set of doctrinal statements and Law; Truth is a Person - Jesus Christ - who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

    Under Law

It is a serious thing to be "under the law." I have often wondered why so many people make light of Adventists or other Christians who just want to do whats right, do what God says, and try to help others avoid the rather final looking penalties of rejecting His law. Of course some would rather confuse the issue by bickering over "what is the law" kinds of codswallop*, but I don't see anywhere that God just says: "Oh, you are a nice person 'Blessed Man' so dont worry about that stupid ol' law!" ______ * "codswallop" is a very interesting word. I think it originated somehow in Britain; but the basic meaning of it, according to the Word Web Dictionary is "(informal) statements or beliefs that are untrue or make no sense"

    Under Law

You are so right and it truly make sense! They will not perish or they have been judge and found to be obedient to the Law. By beholding we will change and stop sinning or breaking the Law. If you stop breaking it, you do not come under the penalty of it, which is death. We have washed our lives in THE BLOOD of THE LAMB and now we like the Adams are perfect as it was in the beginning! HALLELUYAH PRAISE BE TO THE FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT who have redeem those back to THEM! Blessings to you Blessed Man! You Got It!

    Under Law

quite true, and a good example of this "fixed in position of time" idea would be Rev 22:11 "under the law" has eternal results: "Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will have the right to come to the tree of life. They will be allowed to go through the gates into the city. (Rev 22:14)

    Under Law

I am sorry, but honestly this does not make sense to me. Why do we tried to make something from both the Hebrew and the Greek language to mean what we want it to mean? Doesn't it seem more reasonable to find out the meaning of the words? We also have to remember that the English scribes and the Bible scholars today tried to base things on their preconceived beliefs; instead of showing the actual understanding that the Hebrew and Greek were saying and what they actual meant. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; Rom 2:12 Now, believe it or not, I understand exactly what Paul was saying. But this notion that: "There seem to be three divisions or types of people - in relation to "the law". " How is that possible, either you obey the law or you don't! There are only two classes of people those who stop sinning who realize that they must keep YAHWEH'S Commandments and have the Testimony of YAHSHUA! Now, the other class who do not recognize there is a Law or they are lawless will perish! Why? Because they are guilty and will be judge under the Law they will come under because they refuse to accept and obey! The Greek word, "anomōs," is the English word, "without." It is a Greek adverb and it means lawless! Many today are lawless they do not want to obey YAHWEH'S Law at all. Then the Greek word, "ἐν," is the English word, ''in." The Greek word is a primary preposition denoting fixed position in place, time or state. That fixed position of time had run out and by not keeping the Law, they will be judged and their sentence is death! "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears MY WORD, and believes HIM who sent ME, has Eternal LIFE, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into LIFE."John 5:24 (NAS) This is true because they kept the Commandments and understood the Testimony of YAHSHUA which is THE SPIRIT of PROPHECY that THE SON has past down throughout the ages. Their names were called and their sins were blotted out! They remained in THE LAMB'S BOOK of LIFE! Finally, those who YAHWEH wink over their ignorance is what they lived up to according to HIS Law. Read that verse carefully: And the times of this ignorance ELOHIYM winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: Act 17:30 Now, it is Commanded to all flesh everywhere to repent. You can't unless you know HIS Commandments and will because the Gospel will be preached to all and then the end will come! Blessings and Happy Sabbath!
