Buckle up, buttercups!

I think its time to relax on your DT attacks. Calling him "an adulterer" and then basing that as a reason for God not using/wanting to use him would mean that NO ONE on earth could ever be a Church leader or any other thing in any other church, because none of us meet the "Bible qualifications" anymore. It is simpler to go with God's well-established plan that He can and He DOES use all kinds of people in His work, and, in fact, we all quote from an adulterer almost every-time we read the Bible in The Book of Psalms! (to use your principle - stretched out to its farther reaches). Its none of our business what "moral law" we think our national leaders have broken. For one thing, unless you were a fly on the wall and saw first-hand, why would you hijack this thread just to "prove" something you can only go by newspaper innuendos and cliches to "prove"? None of us can deny the text from Dan 2: 21 Like it or not; DT is there for a reason - and not just any reason - its GODS REASON. I could be "wrong" but from what I know, DT has done more to help "the Church" than most other US politicians in recent memory. Is he perfect? No. Did God put him there? Yes. (lol, I cant believe, Im a Canadian and just said all that)3 points -

Its actually NOT known, you only "know" what you have heard. Please, tell us more abut the Psalmist, and his adultery. Was it before, or during his "relationship" with God? Methinks its time to give Trump the same latitude we give the Psalmist. King David sinned while serving God! The whole reason scripture even mentions all that is because The Bible does not hide from the issues, and it acknowledges that "all have sinned," and it gives everyone the second chance that we keep saying we should get! Its become a social trend and a hedonistic virtue to pick on DT. My recommendation is that the church should never encourage that!2 points -

Nudnik the Dog Needs a Vet
phkrause reacted to phkrause for a topic
The Goldstein family dog “Nudnik” was in need of some serious attention. David Goldstein called his vet pleading for an immediate appointment. David explained that Nudnik had a large growth or swelling near the corner of his mouth that had appeared to grow overnight, so the vet told David to bring Nudnik over. When David came with Nudnik, the vet examined Nudnik as David stood by, anxiously waiting the vet's opinion. At last the vet turned to David and asked, "Do you have any kids?" "Oy, is it contagious?" David gasped. "No," the vet answered. "It's bubble gum."1 point -

Rivka was holding her little baby Yitzy, while talking to her mother. "I haven't slept in three days," Rivka complained. "Yitzy is teething and he's up all night crying." "Why don't you just rub a thimble-full of brandy on his gums. That will numb them up and put him right to sleep." answered the new Bubbie. "I can't give my baby alcohol! Who knows what that will do to him." “Yitzy will be fine, I guarantee it!” said the Bubbie. “How can you guarantee something like that?” asked Rivka. "Because I did it to you every night and you turned out OK!"1 point -

3ABN Round 2
BlessedMan reacted to JoeMo for a topic
I read the article and still don't know what's going on. I guess that's cuz I never watch 3ABN and have no idea who these folks are. It seems like political and financial drama going on in high places of the denomination while ignoring any spiritual ramifications. That's one reason why I'm not real high on denominations (no specific denomination implied). Just give me Jesus.1 point -

I don't believe I am "delusional" or "irrational". A billionaire businessman slept with more than one woman, was married three times, is blunt and direct, brags a lot, doesn't always "turn the other cheek", etc. etc. Agreed. I see that. Are those things enough to made me vote Democrat? No! Is he racist? I don't believe so. I have not seen that. Many of his policies greatly benefit black and brown people. Has he lied about his personal relationships? Maybe. Can't say clearly. Is that enough to make me vote Democrat? No. I'm not his judge. Have his responsibilities as president changed him? I believe so. His pastor says DT has sensed his need for God, and has asked God for help to do what is best for the USA and for the world. I do NOT "adore" Trump. I simply like his POLICIES, better than I like those of the opposing candidates. I also like the way he keeps his promises/pledges. It has become obvious that he was not making those promises in order to get elected. He wanted to be elected so that he could keep those promises.1 point -
History/Sociology Of Canadian Religion
B/W Photodude reacted to BlessedMan for a topic
Historical Markers Of Religious Terrorism In Early Canada In the formation of Canada, we have to keep in mind that Lower Canada, was predominantly Roman Catholic, while Upper Canada was largely Protestant. Upper Canada, in particular, was intended by its first and many of its subsequent Lieutenant-Governors to serve as a model of loyalty to the British Empire and a bulwark against American democratic “disorder.” (The Loyalists). "Both reserves were set aside to generate revenue through leasing; the Crown Reserves to finance government expenditure, and the Clergy Reserves to support ‘Protestant Clergy’ as required under the Constitutional Act of 1791." Ecclesial Division and competitions over land use/rights in Canada's early days were directly responsible for two "rebellions" in and around 1837: And this is one of the reasons I have been saying that Ecclesial competition IS very brutal, and is no respecter of persons. If one was not on the right side in the right place, they sometimes would cease to be! Its THAT brutal! Its interesting to note this following quote: The Ecclesiastical and Missionary Record for the Presbyterian Church of Canada, published at Streetsville, in March, 1848, contained this appealing passage from the English Presbyterian Messenger, which will show a small example of the ecclesial competition: Over and over, denominated competition and religious brinkmanship has ruined the lives of thousands; especially with many of our First Nations people; and what makes it worse is that there are no tangible signs that this competition has abated, or will ever be a thing of the past. Some people I have talked to about this subject seemed to feel that I am too harsh when I use the word "terrorism" in describing what was happening in Upper Canada and beyond with "evangelism" and "church" in the formative years of Canada. But I can assure you that it wasn't just the fault of one church or denomination; and that its not my intention to single out any particular one. I would say that certain Adventists I have heard do need to learn a thing or two about the actual history, for Canada. A book I have read recently worded it like this: There were a lot of things about the boarding school "ministry" of churches in early Canada that make church and evangelism dirty words in people's minds, even today, after all those years. The book I was reading when I started this topic details the whole process of the "schools" like this: This is where we can connect the dots with the Crown reserve and Clergy reserve lands a bit. Charging into someone's home, or homeland and forcing them to become "converted" to your "religion" has never worked, yet we still keep doing it to each other whenever and wherever we can get away with it: It would seem that as long as "its for Jesus" some think they can literally get away with anything, "In the name of Jesus," criminal acts have derailed many a seeker into slavery, death, and antichrist plans and practices. In the next post, we will look at some much more positive history, as in HIS - STORY. The above text emphasized in red is my reminder that I have personal experience on that one.1 point -

5 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Richard Nixon_2 On this day in 1973, in the midst of the Watergate scandal that eventually ended his presidency, President Richard Nixon told a group of newspaper editors that he is “not a crook.” Here are 5 things you didn't know about the president that some nicknamed “Tricky Dick.”... Nixon Met His Wife at a Community Theater Audition Nixon and Thelma “Pat” Ryan were both trying out for roles in “The Dark Tower,” a community theater production that was to be held in Whittier, California. According to Pat Nixon, her future husband proposed during their first date, and she thought he was “nuts.” They dated for two years before marrying on June 21, 1940, in the presidential suite of a hotel in Riverside, California. Nixon Lost His First Election Nixon was president of his class in eighth grade but lost the high school election in 1929 as student body president. He made up for these early losses by being president of the student body of Whittier College due to supporting dances on the campus. His next loss was in the presidential election to John F. Kennedy, but he was then elected as the 37th president following the administration of Lyndon Johnson. Nixon Was an Avid Bowler One of Nixon’s favorite pastimes in the White House was bowling. He’d even bowl a few frames dressed in his suit. In addition to using the alley in the adjacent Old Executive Office Building, Nixon had another one-lane alley built in the basement beneath the North Portico entrance to the White House. Nixon Was a Quaker Nixon’s mother, Hannah, was a devout Quaker who instilled the faith in her husband and children. As a boy, Nixon went to Quaker meetings four times on Sundays and played the piano at church services. He enrolled at Whittier College, a Quaker institution, and attended mandatory chapel hours every day.As he faced impeachment proceedings as a result of Watergate, the Quakers from Minneapolis and Milwaukee sent a petition months earlier asking that he be removed from office. Milhous Was His Mother’s Maiden Name Nixon’s unusual middle name came from the maternal side of his family. When the ancestors of Nixon’s mother moved from Germany to England in the 1600s, they changed their last names from Milhausen to Milhous.1 point -

I was - at one time, more afraid of the "religious right" than of the "liberal left", but now I think they may compromise to come together - politically. If posts about "global warming" and the Pope's wanting a global "day of rest" come to some fruition - THAT is definitely a coming together of religion and politics. The whole push for global laws to decrease carbon emissions is nothing more than a scheme to bring the USA down, and to redistribute her wealth. The Pope uses two things - help the poor, and save the planet, but the goal of Satan is to collapse the economy of the USA because Christians in the US financially support global Gospel ministries worldwide. And because the strong US economy and military are the greatest force maintaining world stability. The people supporting the plan endorsed by the Pope, don't even know whose "plan" they are actually supporting. When the US economy collapses, so will the world economy. With that collapse, chaos will ensue - globally. Add to that a growing number of great natural disasters, and you have the final days. The Antichrist, counterfeit "Christ" - will show up (to save the planet). All those without the "seal of God" will serve him. Those with the "seal of God", who try to warn folks about what's happening, will be persecuted into silence (one way or another).1 point -
Two Second Comings?
JoeMo reacted to TrevorL for a topic
Greetings JoeMo, I suggest there is only one Second Coming, commencing with his gathering of the believers, their judgement and then the judgement of the nations, their subjection and conversion, and the establishment of the Kingdom of God upon the earth for the 1000 years. 1 Peter 4:17 (KJV): For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? Without discussing each verse that you listed, I believe that the believers may be gathered and judged upon the earth, and one verse that seems to endorse this is the following: Isaiah 26:20-21 (KJV): 20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. 21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. Kind regards Trevor1 point -

JoeMo reacted to B/W Photodude for a topic
One of the reasons I believe DT was anointed to be president is that the nation was veering sharply in the direction the radical left wants to take the nation. But I do not believe that to be what the Bible prophesies. Two nations from ancient times symbolize ungodly nations, Egypt and Babylon. Many times in different writings I have read where Egypt more often symbolized godless secular humanism. Babylon more often symbolized false religion. The left with their directions seem to be headed straight into Egypt. Revelation is pretty straight forward in calling Babylon the religion that would cause God's people most trouble in the end times, even if much of the world is behaving like Egypt. What seems to be happening is that in the rabid hatred of DT by the left, they are seriously turning off the electorate and may end up loosing even bigger next time around in elections. Many believe DT will win by a landslide. Unfortunately, the more intensively the Republicans secure power, the more it will be used to empower religious agendas, which is what is predicted in Bible prophecy. I do believe it will be the conservative side of government that will take us into the end times, but still support that side. I am amazed how much many in the black community is abandoning the plantation for the Republican party. Many of the controversial names in the Dems column now have black Republican opponents. The problem for Christians is how to vote when votes for candidates for the right could end up bringing on end time events. Seems the least morally deficited is the one to go with. While this is my opinion, I do not claim it to be entirely accurate so wannabe historians need not bother trying to show me where I am wrong.1 point -
