Two Second Comings?
Aliensanctuary reacted to JoeMo for a topic
In looking at scripture, I have been confounded at times about what looked like discrepancies in the details of events surrounding the second coming . Please be patient with me while I list a large number of scripture references: Group1: Dan. 2:44-45; Dan.7:9-14;Dan 12:1-3; Zech.14:1-5,Matt. 13:41; Matt. 24:15-31;,Matt. 26:64; Mark13:14-27;Mark 14:62; Luke 21:25-28; Act1:9-11; Acts 3:19-21; 1Thess. 3:13; 2Thess.1:6-10; 2Thess.2:8; 2 Peter 3:1-14; Jude 14-15; Rev. 1:7; Rev. 19:11-20:6; Rev. 22:7, 12, and 20 Group2: John 14:1-3; 1 Cor.15:1-53; 1Thess. 4:13-18; Rom.8:19; 1Cor.1:7-8; 1Cor.16:66; Phil.3:20-21; Col.3:4; 1Thess. 1:10; 1Thess.2:19; 1Thess.5:9 and 23; 2Thess. 2:1 and 3;1Tim.3:16; 2Tim4:1; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 9:28;James 5:7-9; 1Pet.1:7 and 13; 1John 2:28-3:2; Jude 21; Rev. 2:25; Rev.3:10. (whew!) In GroupA, it appears that all people on the earth are affected. In Group B, it appears that only believers are affected. Group A is preceded by a definite and definitive series of precedent events. Group B appeared "imminent"; we are instructed to be ready at all times. Group A contains no references to the resurrection or translation of believers. Group B specifically addresses the resurrection of believers. In Group B, He seems to come with all His saints. In Group A He seems to be coming for His saints. In group A, the earth is judged. In Group B, it is not. Group A seems to conclude with the "Day of Wrath". Group B seems to occur prior to the "Day of Wrath". In Group B, He comes in the air. In Group A, He comes to the earth. In Group B, the Great Tribulation/ Seven Bowls of God's Wrath follows. In Group A, the Tribulation/ Wrath of God is ended followed immediately by the Millennium. There are 2 ways for me to rectify this: 1. There are two Messiahs - a ridiculous conclusion. 2. There are two Second Comings - one when Jesus takes the saints - living and dead off of the earth to protect them from God's wrath which will fall on the wicked; and one where Jesus returns to the earth with His glorified saints to establish His Millennial Kingdom. Is this a reasonable conclusion? What do you think?1 point -
3ABN Round 2

Just my opinion, but I believe God puts relationship above doctrine. The main doctrines of scripture in my opinion are: 1. "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life"; and 2. "Love the Lord Thy God with your whole heart, and love Thy neighbor as thyself." If we firmly hold on to these doctrines out of faith in and love for our Creator, I believe that Jesus will clear up any incorrect doctrines we have; and we will be happy to accept them. Example - When Jesus explains the Sabbath to the Sunday keepers that are in the Kingdom, those Sunday keepers will gladly become Sabbath Keepers.1 point -

I still believe in no sin in God's people after the close of probation. God, in His word, has promised it and to me to deny it is to be in unbelief. Jesus said to be perfect like your Father in heaven. I do not believe He would waste words in telling us to do something we are not able to do. Perfection is not a demand, it is a promise! Trust God to deliver. So, the question is, what is that perfection and how does it work? I see the people of God living a life such as Jesus lived when He walked on the earth. He had the temptations of the flesh, but did not have a natural disposition to sin. I believe that when God declares the righteous to be righteous still that there will be brought about a change in them so that there is no longer a disposition to sin. This is part of the work of the Holy Spirit in the latter rain and also the beginning of "glorification." Notice Paul said that when Jesus comes, we will see Him as he is because we will be like Him. We will have the mind of Christ. Paul talks about waiting for Christ to be formed within His people. When Christ is fully formed within His people, they will no longer sin. One pastor thought of it like this, God will finally have a people who look like Jesus. Not just that person here and there who perfectly reflects Jesus but a large number of people. Those people will be the 144,000 who will be able to sing the Song of Moses and the Lamb. So, think on how people will be righteous still if they are able to continue sinning. I do not believe they will.1 point -

Listen to this excuse Joe, so he never claim he was a righteous man. Then how on earth do anyone believe an unrighteous man is chosen by THE MOST HIGH! Are you serious! Please do not talk about certain kings in the Bible one was chosen because of his heart the other was chosen, because of his nation's laws that do not change. Saul was chosen but he changed and now he is lost. I will not get involved with his job that you feel is awesome. I will not comment and I told you I won't so stop going back on the agreement you and I made. You showed me that here was not the place for politics and I see and agree! I am not dealing with politics which include who is running. Unless they have sinned then we can speak about it, NO POLITICS! Peace1 point -

The long and short here is you have no support from scripture for pretending to know another person's heart. This is all starting to remind me of the story in scripture where the woman was "CAUGHT" in adultery, and the reason she was "caught" is because someone was watching!! Peeking right in the windows and watching for it. Your "window" is the news, so called. It is never just "the news" and doesnt hold a candle to scripture. We tend to find exactly what we are looking for: Sounds just like you have found what you were looking for here, and that does not reflects on Donald Trump at all.1 point -

He never claimed he was a righteous man. None of us have been obedient to what we know is right. Only if you are without sin are you qualified to throw stones at others. Try to separate his alleged immorality from the awesome job he is doing in fulfilling all of his campaign promises. If you think Trump is so bad, who else running for President would/do you support instead of Trump? Are any of them better than he is?1 point -

I read most of the articles you posted; and most of them are based on comments made by Sen. Mitch McConnell, not President Trump. Furthermore, the articles also said this issue could only be addressed in a bipartisan manner; nothing in them about a Trump or Republican "edict". No matter who does it, federal entitlements are going to have to be adjusted before 2035 by either reducing payments or increasing contributions. When SS was put in place, the average lifespan of people was about 68 years old and there were about many times more contributors than recipients cuz recipients had many children and grandchildren in the work force. I doubt that they ever envisioned a time when people would live on the average into their mid eighties and have many fewer kids and grandkids in the workforce. I feel sorry for our kids and grandkids. Not only will they probably receive less SS than us Boomers, but most of them will not have an employer provided pension, either (which many of us boomers had).1 point -

Me too; including Mormons. In my experience, there are sincere and obedient believers (even though they don't have the same "doctrines" as me) in all of them. There are also nominal or "fair weather" believers in all of them. I'm no judge. I don't think God is looking to disqualify any of them because of ignorance or misinterpretation of certain scriptures. I choose Adventism because its doctrines come closer to what I believe than any other denomination; and I am more in my element around Adventists (and hippies) than any other denomination. If I were disfellowshipped, I would still consider myself an Adventist.1 point -

I don't believe I am "delusional" or "irrational". A billionaire businessman slept with more than one woman, was married three times, is blunt and direct, brags a lot, doesn't always "turn the other cheek", etc. etc. Agreed. I see that. Are those things enough to made me vote Democrat? No! Is he racist? I don't believe so. I have not seen that. Many of his policies greatly benefit black and brown people. Has he lied about his personal relationships? Maybe. Can't say clearly. Is that enough to make me vote Democrat? No. I'm not his judge. Have his responsibilities as president changed him? I believe so. His pastor says DT has sensed his need for God, and has asked God for help to do what is best for the USA and for the world. I do NOT "adore" Trump. I simply like his POLICIES, better than I like those of the opposing candidates. I also like the way he keeps his promises/pledges. It has become obvious that he was not making those promises in order to get elected. He wanted to be elected so that he could keep those promises.1 point -

This is where it always goes. Dems calling those who voted for Trump, "deceived" and/or "immoral". And what would those who voted for/supported Hillary be? "Moral" with "eyes open"? Hardly.1 point -

If one actually does look into the history that can be verified, the first thing to point out is that those payments did not admit to guilt of anything. They were made for other reasons entirely. You are cooking up a bunch of "sin" where you have no way of knowing, nor do you know where DT or anyone else stands in God's eyes, so its time to stop all this "standing" you think you are doing and just SIT DOWN. No matter how many Bible verses you quote, you still cannot say how DT stands before God.1 point -

I wonder who is not being rational when a person cannot accept that God forgives confessed sin committed years (even decades) ago. God forgives sinners when they repent. He remembers their sin no more. Do you know for a fact that the sitting President has not repented of his past sins? Do you know his heart? If you are without sin, feel free to cast stones. If you are NOT without sin, please stop your judgement and condemnation. For the record, I don't think any of us condone sin. I accept that the sitting President was (and is) a sinner. So were/are every other human that ever lived except Yeshua. There is a difference between accepting that someone has sinned and condoning their sin. For example, I accept that people have abortions; but by no means do I condone it.1 point -

Social Security is not "politics"; it is a way to address the moral obligation for a nation to take care of it's sick and elderly. It's not perfect; and it is manipulated by politicians; but Social Security takes care of a lot of my needs in retirement. That being said, I would not be surprised if SS is politically weaponized in the future.1 point -

I wonder who is not being rational when a person cannot state a rational fact about a leader who commits immoral acts on a spiritual thread! You pointed out leaders and I agree and even stated others in a very rational way! But it appears when one is delusional, irrational, having tantrum because his leader that he adores is lying and have committed open sin, without remorse! He loves it and you accepts it, go figure. You need to just pray and think about it okay! I am just standing for truth nothing political in what I have stated, nothing! Again, I say: Peace!1 point -

Sounds like you have the tantrum. You cannot distinguish between political and spiritual. I can and I see from your writing what you really want to do! It shows very clear when people become delusional believing a lie rather the truth. They act the way do do! I just state what he does that is sinful. You even said he has done wrong things. So can you please make up your mind! Take it easy, it is going to be okay! Peace!1 point -

Climate Change: Is It Real?

and yes, I am very much aware of what the green deal apologists have to say about "people like me" who are "deniers" and try to say its "just natural weather cycles." In future posts, I will comment in detail about that, but again, suffice it to say, check around a bit, and then try to say its "just about climate." It's certainly a "green deal," to be sure, but green for who? It certainly looks connected to 'going green" as in all the way to the bank with all of the "green" they can steal from us under the guise of "emergency."1 point -

Actually, you were wrong when you were right. When you have stated that X will happen you have typically stated to the effect that the Bible teaches that X will happen. If X happens, that is not proof that the Bible taught such. I an reminded of a previous prediction tha X was going to die at some unstated time. Of course you will likely be correct. Sometime in the future X will die. The Bible teaches that death is a part of the lives of most of the people who have lived on Earthy. But the Bible has not identified X as a specific person who will die. Should X die next week that will not prove that you were correct as to what the Bible actually taught about him.1 point -
