    Family Money

Shirley Feldman’s preparations for a visit from her children included a trip to the bank. Waiting in line at the teller's window, Shirley lamented to a middle-aged man behind her, "My children are in their 20s, and I'm still giving them money. When does it end?" "I'm not sure I'm the one to ask," the man said while glancing uncomfortably at a paper in his hand, "I'm here to deposit a check from my mother."

    Aches and Pains

At the Beth Israel nursing home in Boca Raton Florida, a group of senior citizens were sitting around talking about their aches and pains. "My arms are so weak I can hardly lift this cup of coffee," said Applebaum. "I know what you mean. My cataracts are so bad I can't even see my coffee," replied Shiffman. "I can't turn my head because of the arthritis in my neck," said Markewitz, to which several nodded weakly in agreement. "My blood pressure pills make me dizzy," Himmlefarb contributed. "I guess that's the price we pay for getting old," winced Goldberg as he slowly shook his head. Then there was a short moment of silence. "Well, it's not that bad," said Rosenbloom cheerfully. "Thank God we can all still drive."

    Funny Numbers

Chaim Yankel started a new job in an office full of cubicles. On his first day he heard someone yell out the number "36," and everyone just burst out laughing. He thought that was kind of strange. Then someone yelled out, "84," and again everyone started to laugh. This went on for quite some time. Finally, Chaim Yankel asked a co-worker what the number calling was all about. The co-worker replied, "We are so busy that we have a book of jokes that everyone has memorized, and to save time we just yell out the number." That night Chaim Yankel went home and memorized the whole book. The next day while at work he yelled out, "29," and everyone just looked at him strangely. So, he just went back to work. Someone else yelled out the number, "67," and everyone just laughed hysterically. So, Chaim Yankel yelled out, "95," and again everyone just looked at him strangely, so he put his head down and went back to work. Later that day at lunch, he asked the co-worker, "Why didn't anybody laugh when I yelled out a number?" The co-worker replied, "Well, you know how it is. Some people can tell a joke, and some people just can't."
