It is sad, however, the parents were doing the best they could in a terrible situation which they did allow. However, they were deceived as many many parents are by a corrupt medical establishment that says this barbaric practice is best for the boy and will prevent a host of ills ranging from cancer, disease, being laughed at in the locker room, to "don't you want him to look like dad?" Everything they offer can be knocked down with ease and there is no rational acceptable excuse for this practice other than the doctors make lots of money. Pediatricians and Ob/Gyns fight over who will get to do the procedure (and pocket the cash). It is corrupt and people are starting to wake up to this.

Any reference as to why God commanded Abraham and Israel to undergo circumcision is so remote that we cannot know today the reasons for it. So, any rationalization of why they were commanded to do this thing or how is just idle speculation. However, kudos to the Roman church for those times when they forbad the cutting of their boys. Unfortunately, many Christians still mutilate their sons because they think God wants this. But do keep in mind that the type of circumcisions was changed during the Hellenic age to the period after the destruction of Jerusalem. During the Greeks years, the young men were able to appear intact and participate in the olympic games which alarmed the "wise" men to no end. You can read this in the books of the Maccabees (Apocrypha).

That's a no-brainer. That barbaric torture of newborn boys called circumcision. The foreskin is a healthy functioning needed part of a man's anatomy.

When I first found out that he was going to "transition" I thought it was "to another department" when my Boss put her hand on my shoulder and said, "no, that's not what we (the HR person was in the room with us) mean". I was shocked and offended because I would have thought I would have known this (as his friend and as the person who hired him) before anyone else at work. I was offended at the ease and readiness this was happening within the workplace too. I know a very prominent Attorney who represents Transgendered and LGBT people and he had told me that Trans individuals are, as a grouping, in the highest group for suicide. Additionally, IF the individual goes through "re-assignment surgery" the suicide risk increases again past what it was prior to otherwise healthy wise body parts being amputated. What other "treatment" calls for the amputation of healthy body parts? When I looked into these things what I learned was that a woman who doesn't fit the role model society says they should fit doesn't mean that the person is suffering from mental illness. Same thing apply to a male who doesn't fit into standard gender roles for males. This isn't mental illness. Body Dysphoria IS MENTAL ILLNESS. We don't encourage people starving themselves (because they think they are fat) by telling them that they are right & maybe they should eat a salad or take the stairs. We should show the same kindness to a man who is so distraught with their body they find a Doctor willing to amputate their healthy organs. Does someone suffering from an illness such as this (that they are compelled to alter their body) have a leg up on me? I think that they do, God would judge someone with a cross like that to bear different than someone like me. I'm not saying people who don't suffer these conditions are better off salvation wise, not at all. That's why I quoted the Scripture I did. Hope that explains things better.

As Nature Made Him: The Boy Who was Raised as a Girl Brian and Bruce Reimer were born in Canada and for reasons were not subjected to circumcision until the age of about 8 months. A terrible accident happened during Bruce's circumcision with the cautery machine and his penis was destroyed. As a result, Brian was not circumcised because Bruce was done (injured) first. Obviously, the parents were at a loss for what to do to help their son, but the opinion of multiple specialists was that nothing could be done for Bruce. Enter Dr. Money. Dr. Money was a sex researcher with the umbrella of working at John Hopkins University. Dr. Money was a proponent of the idea that gender was totally a social construct and that any child could be raised as either a boy or a girl. He was doing the rounds of TV shows in the early sixties when on one fateful day, Bruce's mother was watching and was captivated by what he promoted. Could they? Should they convert their little boy into a girl? She contacted Dr. Money, and this was his dream come true to prove his theories. A pair of twins with one to be the control (Brian, the uninjured one) and Bruce to be the experiment. It was decided to do just that, raise Bruce as a girl. He was castrated, given feminine clothing, and his name was changed to Brenda. (From now on ... Bruce, Brenda, and David will be interchangable names for Bruce and pronouns may be referred to the sex of the name being used.) Dr. Money's theory of childhood sex rehearsal play was referenced thru a large number of books, papers, and speeches lasting over a quarter century. Other researchers were to note that many of the events he referenced in his theories developed thru observation of a primitive society never happened! Brenda had to endure from Dr Money repeated attempts to discuss creating a vagina, made to look at pornography, forced to disrobe and inspect each others (the twins) privates, forced to simulate sexual activity with her twin brother at the age of seven. Dr. Money even suggested the parents have sex in front of their children. Brenda ultimately began to find she had to create answers to satisfy Dr Money. Dr. Money was focused on genital surgery to further create female sexual anatomy for Brenda. Brenda would not even discuss the subject with him and he often behaved very nastily towards her in the privacy of his office while the parents thought he was doing wonders for their daughter. Brenda was the more dominant of the two children. She frequently was in fights at school and never really fit in with boys or girls. She also never felt like a girl but did not know and it was hidden from her what had happened to her. Brenda and her family lived in Winnepeg. The family made annual trips to John Hopkins to see Dr. Money. These sessions were a nightmare for Brenda. Child psychologists cooperated with Dr. Money thru the years of psychological treatment from a parade of different clinicians. The emotional toll on Brenda was immense and included problems within the family and at school. Brenda was developing severe emotional problems. Much attention was focused on Brenda's problems leaving Brian with markedly less attention. Finally when Brenda was threatening to commit suicide, at about the age of fourteen, if she ever had to go back to John Hopkins and at the advice of one of her psychologists, she was told what had happened to her. She at that moment had only one question, "what was my name?" She immediately ceased to have anything to do with female clothing, lifestyle, etc, and changed her name to David. Keep in mind that David had been castrated so he was without testosterone. He began taking testosterone. However, he would not be able to have children. Needless to say, this caused shockwaves thru the academic world as Dr. Money's reputation took a severe hit when this child that he boasted to the academic world was doing fine with her feminine identity was found to be severely disturbed and had returned to being a boy. The amazing thing of this book was how Dr Money manipulated the scientific world for decades and his influence is still felt in the world of gender studies. After this book was published, first Brian and then David killed themselves.

Man was not commanded by nature to cut the foreskin of his penis any more so than man was commanded by nature to observe the Sabbath, Day of Atonement or any other Feast on the Liturgical Calendar of the Jews. I'm not clear as to why you believed this qualified as a mitigating factor in a Medical Doctor lopping off a mans penis and testicles because the man "thinks" that there shouldn't be a penis and testicles there. Unless perhaps you are coming from the camp that believes that if an individual is unthankful than God gives them up to perverse desires and body dysphoria is some sort of "divine punishment"???? I've heard some hard liner Evangelicals make this claim using Romans 1, 21-24
