    "God did not do that"

Perhaps our increased hygiene will help with regular flu, too. It surely can’t hurt. I realise the numbers that we see are way understated. The truth is that pandemics have been a part of recorded history so it was only a matter of time until it was our turn. My daughter is a caregiver and her attitude is that she will fight until she falls. I am praying, “Thy kingdom come.”

Even before Cuomo said this, I was wondering why people were patting themselves on the back for keeping numbers so low, while I was thanking God for keeping the numbers low. I have no doubt that - but for the grace of God - this virus would have been much worse. Without God's wings of protection, this virus could have killed millions - even tens of millions. While the earthly "powers that be" are praising each other, I praise God for the mercy and kindness He has shown us. I would go so far as to say God's mercy in this is calling people back to God. I have two siblings who have rarely if ever gone to church for several years who have returned to faith (albeit Catholicism - which they inherited from our parents).

I have read reports that state the number of healthcare workers who have contracted Covid numbers into the thousands. Reminds me of the rescuers who ran into the twin towers and never came out alive on 9/11.

Who knows, maybe we will just get used to coronavirus infections like we have gotten used to influenza. Some viruses seem to wear themselves out after a while.

    "God did not do that"

Granted that there is a lot of misinformation going on in "fake news," but still people are dying. Sadly it is often churches that get hard hit. I have lost track of the churches that insisted, or were meeting before the lockdown started, where many members of the congregation got sick and many dying. Even one pastor that insisted on carrying on with meetings himself became ill with Covid and died. Many are complaining that it is not right that you can go into a store and buy liquor but you can't go to church. Obviously, these people never took a class in communicable diseases. You can be in and out of a liquor store in a very short time. In a church meeting you go in and sit, often in the midst of a lot of people for an extended amount of time. Which will make you more likely to get sick if a Covid carrying individual is there? And when you add singing into the midst of the situation you have magnified the problem as singing will result in more airborne virus. Unfortunately, the politicians are putting out unreasonable demands. Governor of Michigan is case in point. Banning the sale of seeds?! Seriously?! Probably many live by the produce of their gardens, it is spring, and now is when you plant. Understandably, Michigan has a covid problem, but you have to be sensible. There are other situations unfortunate such as the drive in church in Mississippi. Police showed up and ticketed all the people sitting in the cars for drive in church. Again, unreasonable. Part of the problem is that the government has not done enough. My daughter, who has all the symptoms of Covid (now improving), was denied a test for Covid. So, she will be back at work next week. You should be isolated for 14 days if positive for Covid. Her government agency she works for refuses to protect the workers and demands that they do in person interviews with clients seeking food stamps and other public assistance. The rational is that they (management) does not want the clients to get their feelings hurt!

    COVID-19

How I am surviving the "lockdown". Been doing this social isolation at home for slightly over a month now. It is getting old. Not that I haven't found many things to do, but you do want to get out now and then. Who knew there would be a time when you get 30 days to a gallon of gas? Or that you could walk into a bank with a bandana over your face and the tellers would feel more comfortable? So, I have been reading a lot. I have a NKJV Chronological Study Bible by Nelsen publishers and the notes are heavily archeological and cultural explanations of the surrounding nations as understood from the many cuneiform tablets and other archeological findings. Totally brings a new understanding in what was going on in the ancients cultures and how the surrounding nations saw their gods. Times get a bit screwy when you get very early in the Bible as they do not completely subscribe to Usshers 6000 year timeline. Totally recommend this version as a to do list item. I am now into the books of Samuel. This should be my fastest Bible read ever! Also reading into several other books. Working thru the 6th volume of testimonies. Got Chicken Soup for the Soul: Random Acts of Kindness nearly done as its followup is waiting. Also reading a book on how to write books - "The Art and Craft of Storytelling". This is my second book on how to write books! If you have the old fashion country mailbox, you know that if you want to mail something, you put it in your mailbox and put up the red flag. Seems my mail lady is picking up something everyday, most often another Netflix movie. Yeah, I know, you can stream them, but so many all over including Europe are nearly shutting down the internet due to the bandwidth. They have been asking Netlix and Youtube to throttle their sppeds so the internet doesn't get overloaded. Our district of three churches has been doing Zoom sabbath schools and prayers meetings. So we have people joining in from all over the Appalachian area. If anyone is following the It Is Writtens series that started last nite, they seem to have had over 40,000 viewers, so I have heard for the 7pm session. This series has come at a very timely moment. Many things will be different this year in church activities. Our conference camp meeting has been canceled and they apparently will do the virtual camp meeting online. Also been reading as much as I can find on Covid. There seems to be a number of different meds with potential for curing this disease. In spite of the trashing the president is getting over his enthusiasm for hydrochloriquine, some doctors have been reporting remarkable success with this medication especially when paired with zinc. Another article, and I have to find it again, classed hydrochloriquine into a class of substances that assist zinc in entering into cells where it disables the Covid virus. Another substance which is in this same class is quercetin. Quercetin is in a large number of different fruits and vegetable especially in the berries. So, if you are feeling ill in a covid way, consider zinc and berry juices. Normally, a max daily dose of zinc would be 40 mg. The doctor with zinc success in curing his patients was giving 200 mg day. Note that this would only be for a short period of time. So, I suspect the country will start opening up soon. However, during the flu pandemic of 1918, people of Philadelphia tiring of being "locked up" went out and celebrated too soon at a large city parade and celebration. Shortly thereafter, the cities hospitals were full and before it was over 4500 people had lost their lives. So, it will be interesting to see how this nations and the world recovers from this pandemic. Unfortunately, still a lot of political hate out there and not likely to get any better anytime soon or ever. While the president has been praised by many for his decisions to close the country, it is not enough for some as they have accused him of being racist among many other less than polite terms. This occurs when even some in the opposing party agree that his actions has saved 10s of thousands of lives. Stay safe out there!

I think that they are more often being way over-stated. From what I have been reading, but regardless of under or over stating, its just wrong to misstate such info at all. Its not hard to notice how this has all turned into propaganda. "Pandemics" being interpreted as such have been happening from near the beginning. The tragedy is that a lot less people would die every year from "seasonal" or any other flu if we did the right things; instead of what we are doing now.

    Trivia

5 Things You Might Not Know About The Ford Mustang On this day in 1964, the Ford Mustang was officially unveiled by Henry Ford II at the World’s Fair in Flushing Meadows, New York. That same day, the new car also debuted in Ford showrooms across America. Here are 5 things you probably didn't know about the Ford Mustang. 22,000 Were Sold on The First Day To say people were excited about the Ford Mustang would be an understatement, as 22,000 units were sold on the first day. When the pony car made its debut on April 17, 1964, the base price was just $2,368. Ford’s original sales forecast for the Mustang in the first year was about 100,000. Instead, Ford sold 400,000 within the first 12 months of production and more than 1 million units were sold by March 1966. Since its debut, this iconic car has sold more than 9 million. The Mustang Wasn’t Named After a Horse Although many people started calling the Mustang “Pony,” it might have actually been named after the P-51 Mustang, which was a World War II fighter plane. Lee Iacocca, who helped design the Mustang, said it was popular to name vehicles after animals, but John Najjar, the designer, said he was the one who suggested the new Ford car be named for the fighter plane. Other names that were under consideration for the car were Torino, Avventura, Allegro, and Cougar. The First Mustang Off the Production Line Ended Up in Canada The Mustang designated with serial number 1 was a convertible in Wimbledon White that was never intended to be for sale. However, Stanley Tucker, a pilot for Eastern Airlines, talked a Newfoundland car dealer into selling him the car. It took two years before Ford talked Tucker into selling them the car with a promise of the 1 millionth Mustang to roll off the assembly line in exchange, which was produced in 1966. Today, that first Mustang is prominently displayed in the Henry Ford Museum. It still has Tucker’s license plate on it, too. The Most Expensive Mustang Sold for $1.3 Million The most expensive Mustang ever sold went for a whopping $1.3 million in 2013 at the Mecum Auction in Indianapolis. It was the rare 1967 Shelby GT500 Super Snake. Not only was it the first Mustang to be called a Super Snake, but it was the only one of its kind. Originally, only 50 were supposed to be made, but its $8,000 price tag didn’t sit well with potential buyers and thus only one was made. In addition to its one-of-a-kind status, this pony car also had a 427-cubic-inch V8 engine from a Ford GT40 race car under its hood. Ford Put a Mustang on Top of The Empire State Building In 2014, Ford put a Mustang GT convertible on the observation deck of the Empire State Building. It was in commemoration of the pony car’s 50th anniversary and its public debut at the New York World’s Fair in 1964. It took a team of engineers weeks to figure out how to take apart the Mustang GT and take it up in pieces on service elevators, since cranes and even a helicopter wouldn’t work with the building’s design. They even practiced taking the car apart and reassembling it in the early morning, so everything would be ready and presentable on time. Ford took full advantage of the press surrounding the event, splashing photos of the gleaming vehicle with the Big Apple spread out behind it.
