6 Surprising Things You Didn't Know About Seinfeld On the evening of May 14, 1998, an estimated 76 million TV viewers tuned in to watch the final episode of Seinfeld. Think you're a Seinfeld trivia expert? Here are six surprising facts you probably didn't know about about the show... Kramer Was Originally Kessler The names for both Kramer and George Costanza were based on the names of people who Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld knew in real life. In the pilot episode, Kramer was called Kessler, as the real Kramer—Larry David’s former neighbor, Kenny Kramer—was hesitant to let his name be used for the show. The real-life Kramer eventually agreed. Though he says he was paid just $1,000 for the use of his name in the series, Kramer has since profited in other ways, namely with his Kramer’s Reality Tour bus tour. The Diner in the Show Has Another Claim to Fame The diner that you see in most of the episodes has one of the most famous facades in New York City -- but that fame isn't due solely to Seinfeld. The diner, named "Monk's" in the show, is really named Tom's Restaurant. If a diner-style restaurant named Tom's sounds familiar, it's because Seinfeld was not the only piece of popular culture to mention it. The diner was also the inspiration for the song Tom's Diner by Suzanne Vega. Vega used to frequent the restaurant in the early 1980s and changed "restaurant" to "diner" for rhyming reasons. Every Single Episode Contains Unique Opening Music Listen closely to each episode and you might catch the subtle changes in the theme song, executed by composer Jonathan Wolff. The very brief intro music to each episode uses the same instruments and the same style of music, but the actual tune is slightly different each time. Wolf made each one individually and would base the tune on the opening monologue each week. "I would build each monologue based on this list, this computer printout of his voice and what he was saying, how long it was,” Wolff told Vice in 2015. “It was a little bit more labor-intensive than most other shows because I had to re-do that opening every time. But it was worth it. He was creating new material. As long as he’s creating new material, I’ll do the same thing, and I will create along with him.” Elaine Benes Almost Wasn't in The Show Elaine was not a character in the original concept of the show. In the show's pilot, another female character named Claire was intended to be a part of the supporting cast. Claire was a waitress at the diner who would verbally spar with Jerry and George, but Seinfeld said they wanted a female character who would be more of a core character in the show. There are rumors that the actress who played Claire was let go after rewriting lines, although Seinfeld said that wasn't the case. Once the series was picked up for a full season, Claire’s character was replaced with Elaine. As strange as it may seem, Julia Louis Dreyfus was not the original choice to play Elaine. Other actresses considered for the role included Rosie O'Donnell and Megan Mullally. The Real George Costanza Sued for $100 Million Like Kramer, George Costanza was named after a real person. Michael Costanza was a friend of Jerry Seinfeld and sued the show's creators along with NBC, claiming that they used more than just his last name for the character. Costanza wanted $100 million for supposed violations of privacy and said there were several similarities between the TV character and him. Courts sided with Seinfeld's creators.

5 Things You Didn’t Know About The Mexican-American War On May 13, 1846, President Polk declared war on Mexico following a border dispute over Texas. Some viewed the war as a blatant land grab by the Americans and President Polk's reputation suffered as a result. Here are five things you probably didn’t know about the Mexican-American War... Polk Wanted to Buy the Land, But Mexico Refused Diplomat John Slidell was sent to Mexico in 1845 by President James Polk to settle a border dispute with Mexico or buy their territories in California and New Mexico for up to $25 million. The Mexicans refused to sell, so Polk sent Zachary Taylor, along with 4,000 troops to occupy land between the Rio Grande and Nueces River, which Mexico claimed as theirs. Mexico responded by sending their own troops, which attacked an American patrol. On May 13, 1846, Congress voted to declare war on Mexico by an overwhelming margin. The Conflict Was Nicknamed “Mr. Polk’s War” An anti-war movement arose as a result of the Mexican-American War as some viewed it as a land grab and referred to it as “Mr. Polk’s War,” and others saw it as a way to add additional slave states. Abraham Lincoln was a freshman in congress at the time and said the original skirmish was provoked because it occurred on land belonging to Mexico. His resolutions against the Mexican-American War brought him to the public’s attention but harmed his reputation with those who were pro-war. The War Marked The Debut of Several Future Civil War Generals Along with future presidents Zachary Taylor and Franklin Pierce, the U.S. force in Mexico included many officers who later made their name on the battlefields of the Civil War. Union Generals Ulysses S. Grant, George Meade and George McClellan all served, as did many of their Confederate adversaries such as Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson and George Pickett. Lee, then a captain in the Army Corps of Engineers, emerged from the war a hero at the Battles of Cerro Gordo and Contreras. The Casualty Rate Was Enormous The U.S. never a lost a major battle during the Mexican-American War, but the victory still proved costly. Of the 79,000 American troops who took part, 13,200 died. The vast majority were victims of diseases such as dysentery, yellow fever, malaria and smallpox. According to scholar V.J. Cirillo, a higher percentage of U.S. troops died from sickness during the Mexican invasion than any war in American history. Mexican casualties were also high, with most historians estimating as many as 25,000 dead troops and civilians. The War Reduced The Size of Mexico by More Than Half Mexico relinquished its claim to Texas under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and was forced to accept $15 million for an enormous part of their territory. The lands that Mexico ceded all became future states. They included the areas that encompass California, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

When will Iran attack our (US) fleet?

You, see you did not read nor understand the post. It wasn't a slam it was a point! Again, I do not hate him, I hate what he does! There is a difference. I hate to see you are so taken by this man that will allow people to die. I hate that he and Pence did not wear a mask and order his people around him not to wear one either and it has endanger their lives and also their families lives. I hate that their are people with guns, confederate flags, Nazi swastika who believe the CORVID-19 is a hoax and this was politically done! He wasn't joking and we all saw him and heard him. Yes, it was only a few people, but as you say they still were disgruntled and that doesn't change no matter what you say! The main point they were Republicans and that is the fact no matter how small the group may be! I did not like Reagan's views but he is nothing like this evil man! Many Democrats voted for Reagan and many voted for this one too. But many of them have regretted voting for this person. Those record lows were because of Obama but you want to hide the truth just like him. That is the problem right there, prejudice, and then denying it and yes lying about it; but the facts speak for themselves. So we can disagree but the growth had already taken place. The Bible says the blind leading the blind! Many believe he is from what god too right or he is suppose to be the messiah? I guess I am lying about that too since you claim that I hate him! Even with all the testing at the Whitehouse people caught the virus! You are so delusional that you cannot see what he is doing or you just refuse to see. Over and over he is doing evil things and lying putting people lives in danger and all you do is accuse me of something that is not true! Sad! Do you know my heart? You cannot read it at all. Republicans are dying to Photodue the virus does not pick or choose you based on party lines. It is also killing babies. He is the one that hates a man that was the former President and his skin was brown! Is it hatred what 2000 former prosecutors both Republicans and Democrats wrote to the Attorney General? Many people criticized Obama and I don't agree with them, but I never accuse them of hating him! We can never say anything about this fake president who puts down all people of color and blames everyone for his errors and outright mistakes. I truly pray for you because if you don't see that people are dying because of him. Then you will never see him for what he is. That will be between you and THE MOST HIGH! The Bible teaches us to hate the sin, but to love the sinner. You should learn how to understand that before you accuse anyone of hate. Telling people to inject themselves with cleaning fluid is awful and then lying about it is even worst! Some people did and some died listening to him. He calls people names, he is rude, disrespectful, dishonest and more. If you refuse to see what he is doing, that is on you! That is all I have to say to you with a deep and emotional grieved heart! Peace!

When will Iran attack our (US) fleet?

Not sure why you want to start off at another hateful slam at the president. Your video is also worthless. It is easy to find a couple of disgruntled people to say what ever you want them to say and it is easier to find large groups of people who would traditionally be Democrat voters who are Trump followers much like the Democrats for Reagan in the 80s. Perhaps you are unaware of the large groups of black, latinos, and others who are bolting from the Democrat party to support Trump. All indicators (up until Covid messed things up) were that economically blacks, latinos, and women had never had it so good with record low unemployment. Personally, I believe Trump to be the one to get it all back together better than anyone else, unlike the lefties who just want to raise your taxes, give your money to illegal aliens, and turn this country into a socialist state, Also amazing you can go nuts on Trump for something he may have been joking about at one time and completely ignore the presumptive nominee of the Democrats who has a history of actually assaulting women, routinely can not even manage a nice social distance from women (sniffing their hair, etc.), and has even been videotaped molesting young girls in public in front of groups of people.

When will Iran attack our (US) fleet?

Joe: If you notice that is THE LAMB that takes the Book from HIS FATHER'S HAND in Chapter 5! And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the Throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood A LAMB as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of ELOHIYM sent forth into all the earth. And they sung a new song, saying, THOU ART WORTHY to take the Book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to ELOHIYM by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; Rev 5:6, 9 Why would HE take the Book and have a false person riding the horse? If you would kindly notice that there was only four horses. Four in the Bible always stands for the earth. People being seal are those who are saved. The first riders were the Adam's (both male and female who married and became one flesh). And I saw when THE LAMB opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. Rev 6:1, 2 The Greek word, "autos," means both him and her, but male ego always wants everything to be just him! YAHWEH is no respect of person, which includes female. We need to stop this prejudice belief as well. Male and Female were equal in the Garden and the wife only was curse to be submissive to her husband. That happen after they sin and not before. The Bible was showing that both was ruler over the earth and the white horse represented the earth when it was pure or perfect before they sin. Both are sealed in the Book of THE LAMB, which is the Book of Life. The other three riders were not sealed Cain, Nimrod, the Papacy but people they persecuted were during each period of time. The final martyrs asked when will YAHWEH avenge their death and YAHSHUA told them to rest for a little while, they too were sealed! Just want to present you another thought! Blessings!

  9. The special nature of apocalyptic prophecy raises a separate issue. A generally accepted principle of biblical interpretation is that God meets people where they are. In other words, Scripture was given in the time, place, language, and culture of specific human beings. The knowledge, experience, and background of the Biblical writers was respected. 12. In reaction to the work of Desmond Ford, an earlier generation of Seventh-day Adventist scholars sought to distinguish 1) general prophecy, represented by Isaiah, Jeremiah, Amos and others, and 2) apocalyptic prophecy, represented by Daniel and Revelation. General prophecy, sometimes called “classical prophecy,” was seen to focus primarily on the prophet’s own time and place, […] The post Interpreting Biblical Apocalyptic (3): General and Apocalyptic Prophecy appeared first on Jon Paulien's Blog.
