Liberty Magazine goes off the rails!

There are a lot of languages that don't Yeshua, Yahshua, Jesus, or whatever name is offered as the "correct name". Hope those who use a name unlike any Hebrew, English, or Greek come out OK in the end! Some of them don't even use Roman letters, or Greek, or Hebrew. Some other language usage is as follows: Language Name/variant Afrikaans Jesus Albanian Jezui Arabic `Isà عيسى‎ (Islamic or classical arabic) / Yasū` يسوع‎ (Christian or latter Arabic) Amharic ኢየሱስ Aragonese Chesús Aramaic/Syriac ܝܫܘܥ (Isho) Arberesh Isuthi Armenian Հիսուս (Eastern Armenian) Յիսուս (Western Armenian) (Hisus) Azerbaijani İsa Belarusian Ісус (Isus) (Orthodox) / Езус (Yezus) (Catholic) Bengali যীশু (Jeeshu/Zeeshu) (Christian) 'ঈসা ('Eesa) (General) Breton Jezuz Bulgarian Исус (Isus) Catalan Jesús Chinese simplified Chinese: 耶稣; traditional Chinese: 耶穌; pinyin: Yēsū Coptic Ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ Cornish Yesu Croatian Isus Czech Ježíš Dutch Jezus Estonian Jeesus Filipino Jesús (Christian and secular) / Hesús or Hesukristo (religious) Fijian Jisu Finnish Jeesus French Jésus Galician Xesús Garo Jisu Georgian იესო (Ieso) Ewe Yesu Greek Ιησούς (Iisús modern Greek pronunciation) Haitian Creole Jezi Hausa Yesu Hawaiian Jesu Hebrew Yeshua/Y'shua יֵשׁוּעַ‎ Hindustani ईसा / عيسى (īsā) Hmong Daw Yexus Hungarian Jézus Icelandic Jesús Igbo Jisos Indonesia Yesus (Christian) / Isa (Islamic) Irish Íosa Italian Gesù Japanese イエス (Iesu)/イエズス (Iezusu)(Catholic)/ゼス(zesu) ゼズス(zezusu)(Kirishitan)イイスス(Iisusu)(Eastern Orthodox) Jinghpaw Yesu Kannada ಯೇಸು (Yesu) Kazakh Иса (Isa) Khasi Jisu Khmer យេស៑ូវ (Yesu) Kisii Yeso Korean 예수 (Yesu) Kurdish Îsa Latvian Jēzus Ligurian Gesû Limburgish Zjezus Lithuanian Jėzus Lombard Gesü Luganda Yesu मराठी-Marathi येशू - Yeshu Malagasy Jeso, Jesoa, Jesosy Malayalam ഈശോ (Īsho), യേശു (Yēshu), കർത്താവ് (Kartāvŭ) Mirandese Jasus Maltese Ġesù Mongolian Есүс Neapolitan Giesù Norman Jésus Occitan Jèsus Piedmontese Gesù Polish Jezus Portuguese Jesus Romanian Isus (almost all) / Iisus (Eastern Orthodox) Russian Иисус (Iisus) Sardinian Gesùs Serbian Isus / Исус Sicilian Gesù Sinhala ජේසුස් වහන්සේ - Jesus Wahanse (Catholic Church), යේසුස් වහන්සේ - Yesus Wahanse (Protestantism) Shona Jesu Slovak Ježiš Slovenian Jezus Spanish Jesús Swahili Yesu Tajik Исо (Iso) Tamil Yesu (இயேசு) Telugu యేసు - ఏసు - Yesu Thai เยซู - "Yesu" Turkish İsa Turkmen Isa Ukrainian Ісус (Isus) Urdu عیسیٰ Uzbek Iso Venetian Jesu Vietnamese Giêsu, Dêsu Welsh Iesu Yoruba Jesu Zulu uJesu

Liberty Magazine goes off the rails!

Then your salvation may be at risk. The Magi worshipped Yeshua. The Apostles worshipped Yeshua. Gentiles worshipped Him. Early Christians prayed to Him. Yeshua is God. The Bible says to worship God. Frankly, I don't care where the Hebrew language originated. Most of the OT was written in Hebrew. That Bible tells me to worship God and Yeshua. Early Christians prayed to Him. It would have been idolatry to do so if Yeshua wan't God. If you refuse to worship Yeshua, you do so at your own peril. Just my strong opinion and belief.

    Pie in the Sky

Rabbi and Rebbetzin Jacobson invited their new neighbors, the Applebaums, for Shabbos dinner. Not wanting to go empty handed Mrs. Applebaum baked an apple pie and brought it over. Rebbetzin Jacobson appreciated the gesture and happily served it at the Shabbos table. But when dessert came and she took a bite, it was clear from the first moment that the pie was terrible. She looked over at her husband the Rabbi and he too could hardly conceal his disgust. As soon as the Applebaums left, the Jacobsons threw the pie out immediately. Now Rebbetzin Jacobson had a tradition of writing thank you notes to anyone who brought over a gift. As the same time she was a very honest person and couldn’t say anything that was untrue. So she sent a note to Mrs. Applebaum which read: "Thank you very much for the apple pie. Something like that doesn't last very long in our house."

    The Unflappable Salesman

Moishe Himmelfarb was famous among traveling salesmen for being completely unflappable, always remaining cool. Today, Moishe was in the department store demonstrating the new “unbreakable combs” as they were called. He was impressing shoppers who stopped by to look by putting the comb through all sorts of torture and stress. Finally to impress even the skeptics in the crowd, Moishe bent the comb completely in half, and it snapped with a loud crack. Without missing a beat, Moishe bravely held up both halves of the 'unbreakable' comb for everyone to see and said, "And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what an unbreakable comb looks like on the inside..."

It is not one exclusive of thee other. A literal reading of the text will recognize all of the literary styles present in the writing. Metaphor is one literary style occasionally present in the Bible.

The Rabbi and the Egged Driver

A rabbi and an Egged bus driver from Jerusalem both passed away at the same time and both entered heaven together. God welcomed both the rabbi and the Egged bus driver in and took them to a place overlooking a serene valley with beautiful soft rolling hills just beyond. To the rabbi God said, "My son, do you see that little cottage with the white gate and all the flowers down there in the valley? The one over there just beyond the creek?" The rabbi said he did. God then told him that this was now his heavenly home and this is where he would be spending eternity. God then turned to the Egged bus driver and said, "My son, do you see that big stately mansion up there in the hills? The one just to the right of the waterfall where the golden path leads up to it?" The Egged bus driver said he did. God then told him that this was now him heavenly home and this is where he would be spending eternity. With this the rabbi turned to God and with amazement exclaimed that there must be some mistake. "I have been your loyal servant all of my life." He went on to explain to God that he was truly a man of God. The rabbi said, "Hashem, I followed all of the commandments, even to the finest nuances. I never missed a daily prayer. I learned your holy Torah day and night just as you commanded. How can it be that I am to spend eternity in this small cottage when the Egged bus driver gets the mansion in the hills?" God replied. My son, it is true that you have been my loyal servant. And, both of you have been in a position to influence my children. However, while you gave your sermons, my children slept. It was while he was driving that they prayed!

    So Kool

It was Friday afternoon and Moishe came home from work to get ready for Shabbat. He noticed that much of the food had yet to be cooked so instead of waiting for Miriam, he decided to take the initiative and roll up his sleeves and get to work. First, he was going to make the salad. He searched high and low for the big bowl for making the salad and finally found it in the refrigerator, but it was half full of Kool Aid. "Who on earth put Kool Aid in a bowl?" wondered Moishe. He looked around and found some empty pop bottles, rinsed them out and using a funnel, transferred the Kool Aid to the pop bottles and returned them to the fridge. He then made the salad and started the rest of the dinner. Later, Miriam came home. She had been to the store to get some last minute groceries and was putting some things in the fridge, when suddenly she asked Moishe, "Who on earth put my Jello in pop bottles?"
