122520 For some time I have been interested in the idea that human behavior can often be predicted mathematically, and that this is a current field of study. My background in math is limited. But, today, my attention has been directed to two examples in this field. The Nash Equilibrium was set forth by John Nash who received a Nobel Prize in 1994, and was the subject of the 2001 movie, A Beautiful Mind. My listed link is an easy explanation of this. Nash Equilibrium https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/knowledge/economics/nash-equilibrium-game-theory/ The Braes s‘ Paradox I consider to be more complicated. It was proposed by Dietrich Braess in 1968. My understanding of it is limited. Greetings again stinsonmarri and B/W Photodude, I appreciate your thoughts on elections. For my part I consider that if we have espoused Jesus as Lord and that His Kingdom is to replace the present kingdoms of men (although SDAs do not agree with my view of Daniel 2:35,44 and Acts 3:19-21), then we are pilgrims as it were passing through our present country. If we were visiting another country for a vacation we would not be concerned as to what party was then in power unless it affected our pilgrimage in some major way. I find the circumstances concerning the peoples’ choice of Saul and the Divine selection and raising up of David as a pattern or example of man’s choice in present failing governments and God’s selection and purpose revealed in our Lord Jesus Christ. I reject the concept that the majority view and decisions are important and relevant as God’s will and purpose is what will prevail. The majority are often wrong and also the minority may be worse in their thinking and decisions. I prefer a no guns environment, and even where I live in a semi-rural area I have only ever heard one or two gunshots in many years. I keep a healthy distance from a few venomous snakes and mow the grass of most of my tracks. In rural areas where guns are sometimes needed, guns are licensed and must be dismantled and safely locked away. There are many factors that contribute to the outcome of a war, but I consider the same principle applies as with elections. God is in control and the events and outcome are the result of His purpose and plan for the individual nations. War is used by God to judge and punish the nations and some of the individuals that participate. On a personal level, my Dad was fostered at the age of 5 as a result of a war and lost contact completely with his parents by the age of 8. I have only recently traced my grandfather, and he died relatively young, possibly of his war wounds a few years after the war. He is buried in a RC cemetery. My Dad was eventually fostered onto a farm with an old couple, and his foster father after some years taught him the faith that I now espouse and also introduced him to the fellowship that I now share. "Biden said his first wife was killed by a drunken driver," one post says. "Fact check: Wife ran a stop sign and driver that hit her was NOT Drunk." "Biden said his first wife was killed by a drunken driver," one post says. "Fact check: Wife ran a stop sign and driver that hit her was NOT Drunk." In 2007, Biden, then the vice-presidential nominee, said that a "guy who allegedly … drank his lunch" drove the truck that collided with Neilia Biden’s car. A clip from 2001 showed Biden describing the incident and saying the driver "stopped to drink instead of drive." Dunn’s family disputed the characterization and a spokesman for Biden said in 2008 that Biden "fully accepts the Dunn family’s word that these rumors were false." We haven’t found any instances since then of Biden suggesting that Dunn was drunk. Poynter Institute 2020, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Politifact); THE FACTS NEWSLETTER As, I have said: Biden has made mistakes but he owns up to them. He just like Obama are human beings. There are things I disagree with Bibden especially how he treated Anita Hill. He apologized and he is a man of integrity. He is a true humble loving man of faith. Yes, there are many Catholic just like Biden. There are Protestants and people of all denomination that have faith and show it by their character. What I condemn is a man who has cheated on all of his wives, and he cheated with two of his wives while being married before marrying them! He stole from his brother's children their heritage. He cheats on his taxes, he said he hated to touch the Republican people, he disdain the military, he cheated on his test, he does not pay people back and he is suckering money from the Republicans for his own gain! He is the biggest liar, he is racist, a whoremonger (cheating and sleeping with playboy bunnies and porno stars. There is so much more that I could run on for quite some time.1 point -

If anyone have read my comments about EGW and racism, they know what I have said. EGW had racist views coming out of the Methodist church. However, she changed over the years just like she did with the Sabbath, pork and many other thing. The Bible does say by beholden you do change and she did! If you want to celebrate Christmas, you have that right. It is your choice! I have the right not to celebrate it and my reason is that the Bible said to celebrate YAHSHUA'S death. The Bible also said to celebrate HIS resurrection, also. Now, I never read anywhere the Bible the word Christmas, nor did I read that the disciples or the apostles celebrated his birth or called it Christmas. Now, Joe said this: "Any half-educated person knows that Jesus was not born on Dec. 25." Now, I would go as far and say anything about someone's education, but I do agree that if you know the truth about Dec 25th, that it is a lie. I do not get it! The Bible says clearly not to bear false witness. That is to lie or to spread a lie. If it is a known lie how can you keep it? That's is what puzzle me and that's where I choose to follow the Bible. Let YAHWEH be THE JUDGE! Happy Sabbath and Blessings!1 point -

You don't just a humble suggestion. Here is some and there some of you conservative papers coming clean after being sued. Trump's campaign and his allies have presented no real evidence of widespread voter fraud or other impropriety in any of these cities, and they have faced multiple defeats in court. But the persistence of the president and loyal Republicans has alarmed Black leaders, civil rights activists and historians who see an unprecedented attempt to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters, many of them Black. Npr Singling out Detroit reflects a broader legal strategy by the Trump campaign to challenge votes in heavily Democratic cities with large concentrations of Black voters, like Detroit, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia. Though the Trump campaign has produced no evidence of voter fraud, it is clearly signaling through its strategy that such fraud can only be committed in Democratic areas with large numbers of Black voters. Mother Jones and the Foundation for National Progress Newsmax’s John Tabacco read a statement on air Monday clarifying that the conservative commentary network’s hosts “never reported as true certain claims” about Smartmatic and Dominion voting machines. The walk-back comes after Smartmatic sent a letter to Newsmax, One America News Network and Fox News threatening a lawsuit over on-air claims that the company is linked to the voter fraud that outgoing president Donald Trump has baselessly insisted took place during the 2020 election. He further noted that “neither Dominion nor Smartmatic has any relationship with George Soros,” the billionaire philanthropist, or late Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez, both of whom have been at the center of many recent right-wing conspiracies. On Friday, Fox Business Network ran a fact-checking segment on “Lou Dobbs Tonight” that was rebroadcasted on Fox News Channel’s “Justice with Judge Jeanine” and “Sunday Morning Futures” through the weekend. Reached for comment, a Fox News spokesperson pointed TheWrap to the fact-check and did not elaborate beyond it. Newsmax Fox News host Tucker Carlson apologized on Friday after a Georgia news station let him know that he had falsely claimed that a dead man voted illegally in the state. Even “Fox & Friends,” a warm venue for the president, sounded doubts about his talk of a stolen election. CNN and MSNBC dismissed the claims. The Trump campaign circulated claims of voter fraud on its social media accounts. Local officials have debunked several of the claims. Senator Kelly Loeffler’s fervid campaign against her Democratic challenger in Georgia, the Rev. Raphael Warnock, has employed a new deceptive tactic, casting Mr. Warnock, a Baptist preacher, as un-American by falsely attributing a controversial comment to him that was made by the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.In a news release distributed on Friday, Ms. Loeffler’s campaign linked to a 2014 flyer showing that Mr. Warnock’s church, Ebenezer Baptist in Atlanta, had hosted Mr. Wright, a controversial Chicago pastor known for his fiery rhetoric. Fox News If you are suspicious of Biden you have that right. But it would be nice to show why! Happy Sabbath and Blessings!1 point -

Now, you know I can put down a lot of stuff about Trump and his cronies abusing taxpayers dollars! Bidden is the President elect he has that right, get over it! Now, I do love Obama, but you have never heard me say everything he's done is okay. If so show me in my comments. Obama is a man, and he make mistakes and I can own up to them. See, that the problem with you Bonnie, you did not have to name a country. You could have simple said third world countries that included all ethnic groups. Why Haiti, you knew the country was Black, please give me a break! You know, I am so glad that you give to Haiti but you again, could have said I send my money or givings to a country in the Carribeans, simple. Let, me make this very clear if I say anything that is wrong, all here on this forum knows I will apologized with humbleness. But, they also knows I do not run or just make up things as well. They know I stand up for myself and I do not mince my words period! What I said, I will own up to it. I have great respect for the moderator and the owner of this forum and they both know it. When, I am pull to the side and being corrected, I am not ashamed to apologize. True prejudice is hard to deal with and accept and it goes back to the Bible. The lie about Ham being an homosexual and the word enlarge in Gen Chapter 9. I dare anyone to go look up the word and does not mean to enlarge. Ham went into the ten because his son was in there. He saw his father was naked and called out to his brothers who were standing right outside the tent entrance. They were told their father did not have any clothes inside of the tent. They came backwards and brought a robe and cover their father. Then the lie that Noah curse Ham, he did not, he curse Canaan and said the he would be servants of servants to his brothers. That's a fact! Only servants to his uncle. Servant and slaves are not the same meaning! Guilty of what? I don't think so! White woman, why can't just be a woman. It is not important about your color. What's important should be your giving! Like I said, I respect you for the giving and not because you are White! Giving that any of us do should be from the heart. My giving is known and YAHWEH knows. I am not in competition base on skin color! What I said is Trump is a racist and those who follow him accept what he does and acts like him. Brown children in cages at the border, separated from their parents. Keeping people from SA as immigrants from coming here. This country is base on Immigrants and it's wrong. Your leader wants to put down the votes only in the Black areas. That's what is wrong with Trump and more!1 point -

I think we are squabbling over frames of reference. And Piaget's ideas live on into adulthood psychology! Piaget was a child psychologist who discussed how children think the moon is following them when they are riding along in a car and the moon stays right there. So, while we usually refer to the sun setting and rising, really it is the rotation of the earth, but people commonly think of the earth as their reference point. We can argue over whether the sun stood still and how that occurred, but then try and explain the sun actually backing up in Hezekiah's day! For me, I just take the Bible at it's Word and assume that is exactly what happened. The earth stopped, rotated backwards, then resumed it's normal course. Apparently, this was enough to arouse the interest of astronomers all the way over in Babylon. Just for interest, everything in the universe is moving including the moon, the earth, the sun, the galaxy. Infact, the galaxy itself is moving thru space at over 1 million miles an hour! https://nightsky.jpl.nasa.gov/docs/HowFast.pdf Previously, I mentioned "frames of reference." This is an important point. I recall being in astronomy class and some in astronomy really struck me as possible being very different in the way it was presented. This was a frame of reference issue. I went over it in detail with the instructor and he agreed that it was very possible, but we would continue to think of it as we have been doing! One of these days I will have to really write it down and present it to some other astronomers. Interesting video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tO-Bq_VOAk1 point -

This truly shows, that you know nothing about history. Every kingdom that ever existed had a belief system. Even the heathen knew who YAHWEH IS! When the children IsraEL sent spies Rahab had already hear the fame of YAHWEH. The Philistine who took the Ark of the Covenant knew about YAHWEH and when their deity Dagon was constantly abused; they sent the Ark back in a wagon pull with oxens. When Hezekiah ask YAHWEH to let the sun go backwards 10 degrees, the Babylonians knew who did this! Cyrus was shown that his name and what he would do. Satan tried to interfere and MICHAEL stopped him. There are many stories in the Bible of heathen nations knew who THE NAME of YAHWEH! Now therefore, what have I here, saith YAHWEH, that MY people is taken away for nought? They that rule over them make them to howl, saith YAHWEH; and MY NAME continually every day is blasphemed. But I wrought for MY NAME’S SAKE, that IT should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made MYSELF KNOWN unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt. Eze 20:9 Therefore, MY people shall know MY NAME: therefore, they shall know in that day that I AM HE that doth Speak: behold, it is I. Isa 52:5, 6 For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same MY NAME shall be GREAT among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto MY NAME, and a pure offering: for MY NAME shall be GREAT among the heathen, saith YAHWEH of hosts. Mal 1:11 And ye shall be hated of all men for MY NAME’S SAKE: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. Mat 10:22 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept MY WORD, and hast not denied MY NAME. Trevor: I truly respected your perspective of USA. I just want to say, I have mention the prophecy of the Middle East and role Trump played. Check it out! YAHSHUA said to render to Caesar the things for Caesar and most of those to ELOHIYM. Both Canaan and IsraEL was people who worship YAHWEH and accepted HIM as their RULER. But, they both fail! IsraEL ask for an earthly king and YAHWEH granted it. When YAHSHUA was on this earth, HE obey the Roman king and gave taxes. If we keep the Commandments of YAHWEH and put them first, then as long as the law of the land do not oppose the Commandment of YAHWEH, we should abide those laws as well. Voting is a right to choose in a Democratic society. Australia votes and the party that wins pick the Prime Minister. That is democracy and we here vote to choose our president. That is also democracy but unfortunately one tries to becomes a dictator and that is Trump! Blessings!1 point -

I certainly do condemn them because people are dying because of him. He has lied, cheated, stolen continually. He plays golf and had immigrants working in his golfs and hotel; until they came forward. I will continue to condemn him and those who see the racist things that he does. I did not condemn you personally about your family. Don't entwine the two. This site had to do with Christmas and not Trump. I have right to give my subtle reminders as you give yours, I am a SDA and I can go over this forum and show how many have given their subtle reminders concerning the church. Let's be frank, shall we! It because I spoke up against Christmas and then here come the fangs. I am not happy that those who say they love THE SAVIOUR have to become angry. If it is you belief and feel you are doing what your Jesus want to do, then you should be happy! I will never deny the contempt I have for Trump because he gave plenty of money to the Democratic party. He was tight with Epstein and I know you will bring up Clinton that they friends as well. Like I said I am not a fan of Clinton either. But, Trump and Epstein were tight and they came to each other parties a lot. He is making a mockery out of the Republican party. The COVID is not just killing Democrat! It is killing Republicans too! Republicans are unemployed and are losing their homes. I know they are crying over the phone because their unemployment benefits are ending tomorrow. I have to listen to people period and tried not to lose it and to comfort them. They tell me they voted for him and I just tell I am sorry about the divisions between the parties. They cry because they don't have money or things for Christmas and in my heart, I cry with them. It makes no difference to me about party or ethnic background. They all are YAHWEH'S created beings! You know, you would say Haiti! Because it is a Black poor country which started due to slavery. I certainly do place a lot importance on systematic racism. It's not important to you, but it is certainly important to YAHWEH. Miriam found that out! Bonnie it just shows where you stand when it comes to love. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. 1Jn_2:9 If a man says, I love ELOHIYM, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love ELOHIYM whom he hath not seen? 1Jn_4:20 You and your family have a blessed Sabbath!1 point -

Photodude, you are so funny! I just love it about the grinch! You see that does not bother me. It bothers you! Now, do you really know the actually history behind the symbol? Now, the belief that the Christians believes comes from the Catholic Church, which goes back to Constantine. Here are some facts from the wannabe historian: “Labarum is the name by which the military standard adopted by Constantine the Great after his celebrated vision (Lactantius, "De mortibus persecutorum", 44), was known in antiquity. … In form, the labarum of Constantine was an adaptation of the already existing cavalry standard of the Roman army; the pagan emblems were merely replaced by Christian symbols.” (Catholic Encyclopedia (1913)/Labarum (Chi-Rho)) "Rx is not, as is frequently supposed, an abbreviation of a Latin word meaning recipe or compound, but is an invocation to Jupiter, a prayer for his aid to make the treatment effective . . . sometimes in old medical manuscripts all the R's occurring in the text were crossed." Devils, Drugs, and Doctors: The Story of the Science of Healing from Medicine-Man to Doctor; by Haggard “The Latin ‘recipe,’ take,’ provides the R in the symbol Rx used by pharmacists for centuries, while the slant across the R’s leg is the sign of the Roman god Jupiter, patron of medicine.” The Facts on File Encyclopedia of Word and Phrase Origins Egyptian legend holds that Horus had two eyes, the sun and the moon. Set, the god of darkness and evil, stole the sun eye. The deity Thoth attempted to end the conflict, but Set kept battling and cut off pieces of Horus’ remaining moon eye, which Thoth renewed each month—tidily explaining the lunar phases. Because of the theme of miraculous restoration, "the eye of Horus became a potent symbol of good fortune and healing, later adopted by the Greeks, Arabs, and others," according to Aronson (BMJ 1999;318:1543). When Constantine's father died in 306, Constantine was proclaimed Emperor by his Dacian/Sarmation elite cavalry. Constantine adopted the Chi-Rho insignia while he was in Britain as it represented the Pendragon kings well known in the pagan world. Rho stood for 'Pater' (the Egyptian god Ptah), which is 'Father.' Together they consequently make 'Shining Father' (Dyaus Pitar) - which later became the Roman 'Jupiter' (Hu Ptah=father sun) - the Roman version of the Greek father-god Zeus. According to Sir Flinders Petrie - the Egyptologist - the monogram Chi-Rho was the emblem of the Egyptian god, Horus, thousands of years before Christ and is therefore a link between Horus the savior, and Christ the savior. You really need to study up on ancient this history, it will help you. Don't take my word the Catholic Encyclopedia speaks for itself! Happy Sabbath!1 point -

The End of the Age: The Alarm that Never Sounded
phkrause reacted to TrevorL for a topic
Greetings stinsonmarri and bonnie, I have been surprised at the strength of feeling expressed in this thread, mainly concerning the voting for and the election of Biden or Trump. Possibly what is stated on this thread is a reflection of the strong feeling that still persists in the US after the elections. I would like to make a few comments and observations from a religious perspective, and also from the perspective of living here in Australia by comparison to the US. 1. The Election: 1a. I have never seen such excessive news coverage and other detail given by comparison to any previous election in the US or in any other country for that matter. There seems to have been unprecedented polarisation, not just the normal two groups supporting their normal preferred party and then those in between who change allegiance according to the individual candidate, his present policies and his past performance or record. Even here in Australia there was what I consider far too much news coverage of the US election. 1b. By comparison here in Australia, we have elections that run for about four weeks, and the party that obtains the majority of the seats in the House of Representatives forms the government, and the party decides the Prime Minister. As a result we have also had a change of Prime Minister a number of timers mid-term. The elections are soon forgotten and the politicians get down to running the country, supported by a very large public sector. 1c. From a religious perspective, both personal and with those of my fellowship, we do not partake in voting. In Australia voting is compulsory and we are fined if we do not vote. We are usually given exemption on the basis of our conscience, but we have to answer the electoral commission on each occasion stating the reason. My basis is that I believe that God rules in the kingdoms of men and God decides who will be given authority, sometimes good rulers and other times bad rulers according to His Purpose. God could well have used Trump to alter the situation in the Middle East, but possibly his work there may be complete, and there is now need for a different perspective and activity. I imagine that SDAs have a different perspective on both of these items, as it appears from this thread that SDAs vote, and feel strongly about THEIR choice, and the SDAs are not particularly looking for the fulfilment of Bible prophecy concerning the Middle East. They seem to be only looking for the national Sunday Law. 2. The Virus: I can only commiserate with you for the problems that you have in the US. We have had a few outbreaks in Australia, but it seems to be under reasonable control. Possibly we will not fare as well in winter. I could relate a few personal examples of my experiences of successful isolation, both very early, January-February and also March-April. These steps were taken on the basis of minimal information and warning, but taken very seriously at the time. I also live next door to one of the chief medical officers in the lung and chest department in our large regional hospital and could mention a few things. A simple comparison between the number of cases and percentages in the US and Australia is revealing, but we are all usually wiser after the event. 3. Guns, Violence and Demonstrations: We have much less guns here in Australia, part of a more recent deliberate policy. We cannot carry guns in public. We seem to have less violence and demonstrations. I hope what remains of the transition period will not be chaotic, but if feelings are still running high among sedate SDAs, I do not know what it is like in other segments. Kind regards Trevor1 point -

The Hebrew for this text can be understood in two possible readings. the word "Still" makes a good translation. It can either be read that the sun stood "still" as in not moving, or it can mean "still" in the sense of "Being quiet" or that for some reason the sun did not shine over the battle. From the text itself you cannot tell which way to interpret. We have to look at other things for support in which one of these two possibilities has the most evidence. The word for the moon not moving is a military term for a military field commander to hold his ground and not retreat to an oncoming enemy. Joshua asked the sun to be still on the eastern horizon and for the moon to stand fast at the western horizon. Why would Joshua pray with them in those locations instead of them being switched? Looking at the battle field, the road is stepped and the fields are not that easy to run over without light. Joshua arrived early in the morning as the enemy was getting ready to attack. The darkness worked for Israel's advantage. They could shoot at the burning torches and hit something. The enemy could not throw away their torches since they needed it to see where it was clear to run and that also gave light to the Hebrews for where to run. The sun shining would have given both armies equal advantage on the battle field. The Bible describes in answer to Joshua's prayer a huge hail storm with huge balls of hail. To have hail stones that big would require thick heavy clouds that would block out the sunlight and keep it as dark as night. The Gibionites, who had just stopped worshiping Baal and started worshiping YAHWEH, and those who came to attack them were currently worshiping Baal. Now Baal was the god of the storm. To the people involved it would be that Baal showed up to fight. But instead of him pouring forth his wrath on the Gibionites who had just stopped worshiping him, and attacking the Hebrews who worshiped a different God and who caused the Gibionites to turn against him. Baal shows himself as a tool for YAHWEH, showing that he does not mind the Gibionites to change from worshiping him and to start worshiping his boss, YAHWEH, and it was an encouragement to those who were planning to attack that maybe they should follow the path of the Gibionites and to turn from worshiping Baal to worshiping Ball's boss, the God most High, YAHWEH. As we look at the text and battlefield, I understand the evidence pointing to the sun being "still" as being quiet or not shining that day. In addition, usually we find Jesus either repeating or giving a parallel activity. We find Jesus calming a storm at night. If we should understand the sun standing "still" as being quiet, we have that parallel activity, Joshua storming a calm morning and Jesus calming a stormy night. But even if the popular interpretation is correct, who says that God can only do one miracle at a time? Surely, he is big enough to control all of nature.1 point -

Bonnie you have that right, that is call the power of choice! I have the right to not accept a lie, or to follow the world. I have the choice to remember YAHSHUA'S death and that HE has risen and standing before HIS FATHER! I have the right to believe in keeping all of THE FATHER'S Commands like Abraham did. I have the right to obey what the Bible says. I never condemn you because I do not have that right! THE FATHER IS THE JUDGE and if I obey the Bible, then that is what obey. That is simple to me. I never said anything about you or your family. What gets me you can say what demeaning which is insulting. I never said that to you neither did I demean you at all. I said that I feel that given out things only at Christmas does serve the purpose. Why because people need help year round. Now, you express what you did for Christmas and never said a word about that at all. But, when I express my giving its demeaning. Bonnie you know what, my cousin who is close to me, we do everything together has COPD too. I know how you feel about his health during the COVID and I have worked with her too! I don't know if you give him ginger and lemon tea it is very good for COPD. Also, have you heard of Mulling and Boneset it excellent for all lung diseases. I also use honey with orange blossom or clover. If you get it, get in the bulk and you can grow these herbs as well. You boil the lemon, the two tea and honey together. Mullin is a pleasant tasting tea and can be drunk anytime. Boneset is bitter tasting. If you make the tea for your husband take double mullin to a handful of boneset. I suggest you read up on them first and then you can make your choice about using them. Oh one other thing I don't recommend if you husband eat beef, not to. It is full of mucus that goes to the lung and it is toxic and hard to digest. You should read up on that as well. Finally, all who know me on this forum knows I do not personally condemn anyone. I will tell you what the Bible says and it is of no private interpretation. We as SDA use to preach that a lot! I do not like when people don't like what the Bible says and try to make me self righteous above others. I provide what is says and that is what we all once did as we spread the truth. It appears that has changed! Do, I put down the church, yes because it has wander away from what we first stood for Biblically. The church has always had a problem with systematic racism going back to the days of the pioneers. We have never address it! It has made a difference. It is time to seriously face it. That include all people of color! When we do many who cannot deal with the truth, I feel will leave!!!!! Happy Sabbath!1 point -

Bonnie: You know since you want to state that President Obama release crooks like your man Trump; let's see, shall we. By the end of his second and final term on January 20, 2017, United States President Barack Obama had exercised his constitutional power to grant the executive clemency—that is, "pardon, commutation of sentence, remission of fine or restitution, and reprieve—to 1,927 individuals convicted of federal crimes. Of the acts of clemency, 1,715 were commutations (including 504 life sentences) and 212 were pardons. Most individuals granted executive clemency by Obama had been convicted on drug charges and had received lengthy and sometimes mandatory sentences at the height of the war on drugs. Obama holds the record for the largest single-day use of the clemency power, granting 330 commutations on January 19, 2017, his last full day in office. He also issued more commutations than the past 13 presidents combined. 1. Office of the Pardon Attorney". United States Department of Justice. 2. Neil Eggelston, White House (January 2017). 3. "President Obama commutes prison sentences for 330 before leaving office" President Trump on Wednesday granted pardons or other clemency to another 29 people, including real estate developer Charles Kushner, his son-in-law’s father, and two former advisers who were convicted as part of the FBI’s probe of Russian interference in the 2016 election — once again using his executive power to benefit his allies and undermine an investigation that dogged his presidency. Former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who was convicted in 2018 of committing financial fraud and conspiring to obstruct the investigation of his crimes, and he upgraded to a full pardon the sentence commutation he provided earlier to longtime friend Roger Stone. The father of Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, who pleaded guilty in 2004 to having made false statements to the Federal Election Commission, and he subsequently pleaded guilty to witness tampering, and tax evasion stemming from $6 million in political contributions and gifts mischaracterized as business expenses. The president has now used his powers to personally intervene and grant clemency in multiple cases that special counsel Robert S. Mueller III brought against Trump’s former advisers. Among those pardoned were three former Republican congressmen, each of them convicted of federal offenses during the Trump administration. Two had been early and avid supporters of Trump’s campaign. By Washington Post Staff December 23 Two men sentenced to prison as part of the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, two former Republican lawmakers, and four security contractors convicted in the massacre of 14 Iraqi civilians were among 15 people granted full pardons by U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday. WASHINGTON (Reuters) As he enters the home stretch of his White House tenure, Donald Trump has used his clemency power less often than any president in modern history, according to data from the U.S. Department of Justice. Trump’s sparse use of pardons, commutations and other forms of official leniency stands in sharp contrast to his predecessor, Barack Obama, who used the clemency power more frequently than any chief executive since Harry Truman. Pew Research Center But some of the Trump pardons and commutations are no laughing matter. Unlike President Obama’s pardons of many individuals who were serving long sentences for nonviolent drug crimes, two themes seem to run through the Trump pardons: disdain for white collar prosecutions generally and strange links to campaign finance donors and campaign finance violators. Brennan Center for Justice at NYU Law Knowing you Trump lovers; I made sure I added that President Obama did more than other Presidents and Trump pardon less. Just check out the smirking Trump as these Evangelical so call preachers are praying over him. This is the man you thank is sincere. He is showing a sucker is born everyday and boy I have a bunch of them and their money! It is fruitless to get you to believe that are duped to believe that Biden and his son have done nothing wrong. You state all of this but you cannot produce any facts. Only hear say that is nonsense. You Paul say, that ELOHIYM will cause people to become delusional and to believe a lie. Here you stand! Trump faithful Attorney General could not find anything. Crazy Geovonni working with a Russian spy, who cannot return to his own country of Ukraine, could not produce the dirt! If so where is it, bring it out! All of the people associating with Trump are crooks. It is going to come out about money favors for these pardon. You know what makes it so sad, is all the SDA caught up in Trump. The problem is just like Israel of old who followed Baal during the time of Elijah, the time for the POWER that he had is coming to those who follow the Bible and not a man. The sealing is getting ready to take place and I just would like ask, where is the suppose to be Sunday Blue law vs the Sabbath? We certainly do not hear about that lately. Oh, the other one is the papacy! Evangelical preachers have fallen out with the pope, he washes gay people feet! How many of you are ready to be thrown into jail because the Sunday keeping folks were going to go against the SDA. What happen to that old sermon, I have heard during the Trump era. Oh, yeah SDA are evangelicals too, right? You see, I cannot tell the difference between the two! Will the true SDA stand up! Well Bonnie I care who you vote for because it let's me know where your heart is at about me. I am Black and I know where all of those who pretend to love me, don't! I care because I voted for justice, peace and honesty. I don't holler but I do shout it out whom I serve, where I stand, and to say very clear, THERE IS NO JUSTICE IN THE LAND!1 point -

☧ The grinches will always be out to get the folks having any cheer on Christmas! One thing that always gets me are the ones who think because it is not mentioned in the Bible, then it is not a valid celebration to remember the birth of Jesus. Many things are not in the Bible, but then the Bible also tells us to reason together and put the evidence together to come up with beliefs. However, actually the birth of Jesus was celebrated in the Bible. The wise men came from very far off guided by heaven to worship the newborn King. The angels sang for the shepherd in the fields and sent them on their way to see Him. The ones who didn't get to see Him were the religious grinches of the day. The fact that we celebrate on December 25 is not really relevant. In other places they have different days. But what is relevant is that much of the whole world gets on the same "page" every year to remember the birth of Jesus. In its own way, this is also the spreading of the gospel. “Do you know what hurts so very much? It's love. Love is the strongest force in the world, and when it is blocked that means pain. There are two things we can do when this happens. We can kill that love so that it stops hurting. But then of course part of us dies, too. Or we can ask God to open up another route for that love to travel.” -Corrie ten Boom1 point -
