Gustave has made a very important point, which I have previously stated: Many of the early SDAs had a false understanding of the doctrine Trinity. It was that false doctrine that they rejected. Those who criticize us today for accepting the doctrine of the Trinity often do so because they also have a false understanding of the Trinity. While there are several versions of a false doctrine of the Trinity, a common one is often Tritheism (three individual gods). That should be rejected. It is not what the doctrine of the Trinity teaches.
