    Vegetarianism & Adventism

The SDA Chruch does not forbid people from eating meat. On an International basis, probably the majority of SDA members do eat meat. The SDA Chruch does ask the people note eat pork products. However, it does not send police into homes to read labels on their food products.

What Of The Seventh Day Adventists in Afghanistan

How You Can Respond to the Afghan Refugee Crisis – Arrive Ministries On Sunday, August 15, 2021, the Taliban gained control over of the Afghan capital of Kabul. Chaos has erupted as families are unsure of their future and thousands of lives are at stake. Some of those facing the greatest danger are men and women whose association with the U.S. is now threatening their lives and the lives of their families. Many former Afghan interpreters, security personnel, and their families will be arriving in the Twin Cities as refugees over the next few weeks. Arrive Ministries will be providing apartments, jobs, and basic household items for an estimated 35 Afghan refugees by the end of next month. Here’s how you can support Afghan families that have already been evacuated from Afghanistan and welcome those arriving: Volunteer with us – Arrive Ministries is a Christian non-profit, that partners with volunteers from local churches who share our mission of seeing refugees welcomed with the love of Christ. Good Neighbor – Walk alongside an Afghan family for one year. Action Step: Attend a volunteer interest meeting or host an interest meeting at your church. Tutor an Afghan woman – Teach conversational English to Afghan women in the context of relationship. Action Step: Attend a volunteer interest meeting. Host Homes – Open up your home and welcome these newly-arriving Afghan families for a short-term stay. Action Step: Attend a volunteer interest meeting or email us. Housing – Help us find safe, sanitary, affordable apartments near bus lines. Action Step: If you know of any landlords or property owners, fill out this housing form or email us. Donate Household Goods – Help us welcome our refugee neighbors with the basic supplies they’ll need to set-up an apartment. Action Step: Check our registry for a list of household items or donate gift cards to Target, Walmart, Ikea, Cub Foods, Amazon. Donate – These dollars will help us welcome Afghan and other refugees to Minnesota. Action Step: Go to our giving page and select the Afghan Resettlement Fund. Pray – Pray for families in Afghanistan and pray for those who are here, helplessly watching what is unfolding in their homeland. Action Step: Click here for a list of prayer points for Afghanistan. Advocate – Call on Congress to do everything in their power to evacuate as many as possible and resettle Afghan refugees. Action Step: Email your congressperson

    When Was Jesus Crucified?

I was told by a leading rabbi in Los Angeles that Herman Wouk's "This is my God" is an excellent resource that describes just what a "Jew" is or believes. "The King of Schnorrers" by Israel Zangwill offers a humorous point of view [certainly the funniest book I have ever read]. That same rabbi suggested in a public meeting that the Jewish community should ask itself what roll they played in bringing about the Holocaust. Elderly Poles with whom I spoke said that the Jewish communities in Poland's countryside abhorred the presence of non Jews, that a Gentile couldn't get even a drink of water while passing through. Basically, Polish Jews hated non Jews in the WW2 era; apparently, the feeling was mutual. Perhaps these folks were simply trying to excuse or justify their behavior. A Polish Jew I knew in the San Fernando Valley escaped during transport to a camp. He was saved by a Nazi physician who performed a bilateral transmetatarsal amputation i.e., he cut off the frozen front part of both feet. The survivor couldn't walk very well but married a Polish Gentile lady and was still alive in the 1990s. The only place I miss more than the Jewish area of L.A. is the beach.

    When Was Jesus Crucified?

Stinsonmarri has multiple times commented on how someone has used the word "Jew" in a post. The basis for that comment can probably be found in the following post: http://esau.today/origin-of-the-word-jew/ However, current meanings of words in any language are not limited to their etymology, as she would like to tell us. Rather they tell us how a word is currently used in the language. In actual fact, words often have multiple meanings. The following is a current use of the word "Jew." She may not agree, but it is a fact.
