In an earlier post, the question cited below was asked. A brief statement as to my belief would be: I believe that salvation is a choice that all make as to whether or not one wants to spend eternity with God and God accepts that choice. On this basis, doctrinal understandings are only salvational to the extent that they may affect the choice that one makes. On a personal basis, If I believed that God causes sinners to be eternally burned by a fire that never burned me up, I would reject God and not want to spend eternity with a God of that nature. So, for me that doctrine would be salvational. In a similar way I could posit that some other doctrines could be salvational.

    The End of Progressive Adventism

I agree, but believe that Kevin is talking about those in the U.S. not in other countries? I don't agree with that!! I believe SDAs are very much historic!!

    The End of Progressive Adventism

Just like "conservative" and "liberal" have different meanings in different countries, "historic/traditionalist" have different meanings in different sects or denominations. Looking at Christianity as a whole, there is nothing historic or traditional about Seventh-day Adventism.

The salvation that God has provided extends far beyond the boundaries of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination. The ultimate responsibility for our spiritual nurture belongs to the Holy Spirit (HS). In guiding us spiritually the HS does not lead in a lock-step #1 followed by #2 and followed by #3 . . . .. Rather the HS develops an individual plan for each of us that is best designed to lead us on our individual pathway to God. For me that may be # 1 followed by #6 and then by #3. . . .. This results in individual SDA members being at different stages of spiritual growth. But, all are led by God in the activity of the Holy Spirit.
