    Karen

What is in a name: Karen may be thought to be a common female name. In our society today is has assumed a rather negative connotation. From this perspective, one should be careful about using that name. For more information see: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-53588201

  2. There is a lot of unknowns in the universe out there. Space is vast and we cannot explore all that is out there. There have been movies made about astronauts, sci-fi themes, and aliens. As believers, it is important to have a viewpoint on what we believe about extraterrestrial beings. Today we will be exploring, what does the Bible say about aliens. https://www.crosswalk.com/faith/bible-study/what-does-the-bible-say-about-aliens-and-extraterrestrial-beings.html? ps:I placed this here in TT area, if, Gregory you think it should be placed elsewhere, then by all means please move it!! Thanks

    California's record rain

Photos: Justin Sullivan/Getty Images The top shot shows a 100% full Lake Oroville, on the Feather River in Northern California yesterday. Below it is the same vantage point in July 2021. Why it matters: A "historic rainy season recharged reservoirs across the state following years of drought," the L.A. Times reports.

Does Scripture Condone Female Leadership in the Church?

I take no issue with females being pastors or holding other roles of leadership. I do think that those serving in the local church should rotate positions. For example, unless no one else is available to serve, no one should hold the same position for more than five consecutive years. That is a separate issue from female ordination but somewhat related as many men do not want to give up their positions and are threatened by women.

What Does the Bible Say about Aliens and Extraterrestrial Beings?

The general understanding of the EGW statements as to intelligent life on other planets is: * That they pertain to planets outside of our solar system. * That those inhabitants could have sinned but did not. * Those inhabitants are aware to some degree as to what happened on Earth after sin began to rule. * From the perspective of that knowledge. those inhabitants will never sin and reject God's leadership. I point out that Gustave speculates as to the consequences of what might result if those inhabitants were to chose to sin. His perspective includes that idea that if they sinned God would not intervene to prevent some of the results that he suggests. Can I suggest a Biblical verse for every thing that I have stater her? Of course not. What I say may be just a speculative as what Gustave has said.

Does Scripture Condone Female Leadership in the Church?

Yes, perhaps, but a problem is that Ellen G. White was a female leader in the SDA denomination. One can debate whether or not she was ordained. But, it is unlikely that any informed person would argue that she was neither female nor a leader in this denomination. Some might say that she never held an elected office. But, it is clear that she was given, the same credentials, over a period of several years, that we give SDA pastors. If we consider SDA male clergy to be SDA leaders we must consider EGW to be a SDA female leader.

Does Scripture Condone Female Leadership in the Church?

A lot of people don't consider this matter to be a non-essential issue. The solution is simple. People who don't accept female leadership can simply move to another congregation or denomination. Southern Baptists recently broke fellowship with a congregation or two over this issue. The LCMS does not allow women into their ministerial training program. Some denominations have principles to which they adhere. Adventism does not. If the denominational position is no female pastors, congregations which defy the denomination should be eliminated. The denomination can simply close the church-- padlock it like they did to the Burbank, California church years ago.
