When George Sheets applied to place a manufactured home on his property in El Dorado County, California, he was required to pay a fee of $23,480 for what he was told would cause increased traffic on streets! On January 9, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear his argument that the charged fee was excessive. Randy Roberts, Senior Pastor of the Loma Linda University Church, in a TV sermon today (January 6, 2024) tells of a time when he needed to travel from his home to the LA Airport to pick-up his wife who was flying in from Dallas. On his way to the Airport, his phone rang: It was his wife telling him that she had boarded the airplane and would shortly be flying home. Later in his trip to the Airport, his phone rang again. It was his wife, she was on the ground at the LA Airport and would soon see him. He informed her that he was still in transit. Her response: You mean to tell me that it is taking you longer to get to the LA Airport than it took me to fly from Dallas to LA. His answer: Yes!
