Moderators lazarus Posted April 10, 2007 Moderators Posted April 10, 2007 As a fan of Imus i really think its a travesty that he's been suspended for 2 weeks. He made a mistake, he admitted he was wrong. Give him a break....and I'm not kidding. NEW YORK - Radio host Don Imus, suspended for two weeks for calling the Rutgers female basketball players "nappy-headed hos," called the punishment appropriate Tuesday but stressed, "I am not a racist." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070410/ap_on_en_ot/imus_protests Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. Woody Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Everyone feels they are sorry when caught. He did not make a mistake. It was consistent and natural for him. Saying "I am not a racist" does not mean a whole lot. Just listen to all his previous broadcasts. He is full of hate for many kinds of groups of people and readily makes fun of them. Woody Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Laz ... Would you say that when Rush lost his job for saying that a black player was over rated because he was Black ... that he was also mistreated? I personally believe that what Rush said was true. Yet ... I am not a racist. This black quarterback was HIGHLY over rated. His stats were at the bottom of the quarterback rating stats. Yet he was praised. WHY? He was Black. The NFL is mostly black. But since that particular position has only recently seen blacks ... this was the reason for the praise. I would be interested in how you spoke out when Rush Limbaugh was so severely attacked. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators lazarus Posted April 10, 2007 Author Moderators Posted April 10, 2007 Rush Limbaugh is a racist and not funny. He shouldn't have resigned. Alot of people like you like the stuff he says. He's very popular which says alot about Americans. Imus says racist stuff all the time! He's funny. Again he's popular. This says alot about America too! Alot of American white people love the stuff these guys say or else their ratings wouldn't be so high. Don't get me wrong. What Imus said made me sick and angry but this is America, y'all. Hey I just heard that Imus said he's going to have a black person on his staff. This just gets better and better. LOL Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. David Koot Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Alot of people like you like the stuff he says. But I thought Redwood is African-American, from what he had said previously. Quote
Moderators lazarus Posted April 10, 2007 Author Moderators Posted April 10, 2007 "like you" - didn't necessarily mean white, more political perpective....but my guess that those of the "caucasian persuasion" make up the vast majority of his audience. I knew Redwood was a brother but I didn't realise it was like that! Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. olger Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Hah. Our local post office listens to the "Baugh." That don't happen much in Frisco . I think he's funny (the `Baugh). Were you calling for Jesse's head when he made/makes anti-semitic remarks? Imus should be ashamed.................for his hair, too. as you were, men olger Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Moderators lazarus Posted April 10, 2007 Author Moderators Posted April 10, 2007 .Were you calling for Jesse's head when he made/makes anti-semitic remarks? Who me? I'm not calling for anybody's head....quite the opposite. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. Woody Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 ME ???? I'm Swiss n' Swedish !!!! Say that five times at Fifty miles per hour. And don't forget ... Obama is White. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I do like that mix. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
David Koot Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I do like that mix. Good! I'm glad to know you're comfortable with who you are! Quote
olger Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 This whole incident is defining, as one liberal is sitting in judgement over a liberal. Peculiar.. And Al Sharpton? Al Sharpton has catapulted himself into public awareness by using racism as a springboard. Laz, I agree that you were not calling for Imus' head. However, your comments regarding Limbaugh indicate that you tend to "pardon" those whom you agree with. I would bet that if Limbaugh was a liberal person (whatever that means) he would have received similar charity. all the best, olger Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Woody Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Another racist is Jesse Jackson. Although I am sure he tries to tell people that he isn't a racist also. But he goes around calling people Hymies. Woody Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Quote: That would be a good mix David ... I was just trying to reach out to you and find common ground with what you said in the above quote. Personally as you know ... I am many things but do not refrain from calling things the way I see it. I am conservative but I criticize conservatism. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
David Koot Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Hey, no prob. I do recognize that in answering some of those ethnicity questions, sometimes a person has to choose. If you select your African-American heritage rather than your Swiss or Swedish background, I think that is perfectly fine! No problem here! Dave Quote
Dr. Shane Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Quote: Rush Limbaugh is a racist and not funny. I have listened to Rush Limbaugh off and on for the last 15 years. I disagree with him more than I agree with him and think he is quite arrogant but have never heard anything that would make him a racist and find him very funny - much like Al Franken is on the left (who I enjoy too). Imus??? I never heard of him before this controversy. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't some kind of stunt to draw a larger audience. The black people criticizing him are being quite hypocritical since black rap artists say much worse and get a pass. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Woody Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Quote: Rush Limbaugh is a racist and not funny. Making accusations is one thing. Backing it up is another. I called Jesse Jackson a racist and backed up my belief with the proof. I would ask the same of you. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Dr. Shane Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Does Bravus describe women has hos? Just for the record: I do not describe women as hos. Even when talking about actual prostitutes I do not use the word "ho". But I do use it when I chuckle around Christmas time. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Parade Orange Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I couldnt stand Imus years ago. Howard Stern and him were at odds years ago. on this sinful earth sinners do find hate and evil funny violence is entertaining killing is an artform sex in all its forms(outside God's plan) dazzles our senses I listen to conservatives alot. Savage Nation Sean Hannity Dr. Laura and a few others and they all have a few things in common egotystical, self absorbed, self rightouse, arrogant, and smart. and very entertaining! thats why they have their own shows. Out of all the people I mentioned I like Dr. Laura most. Dr. Laura is a ultra conservative That I admire most but hasnt met JESUS and the Grace that He gives. If she did she would be a powerful voice for healing. And the Savage guy ... well I will hold my tongue. now Don Imus will lose his job? I hope he does and find God's mercy in the process. His face and voice shows the unforgiveness and bitterness that rules his mind. Praise GOD I found a few other radio stations that my old car gets so I can listen to something other than enertaining opinions of conservatives who dont acknowledge JESUS CHRIST. some find it easy to life moral good lives without JESUS and put down others intents and hearts where they walk. but that has never been the case for me. They day I found out who God was the day I found out how depraved I am. Quote All progress in the Spiritual Life is knowing and Loving GOD"there is non upon earth that I desire besides YOU" PS 73:25That perspective changes EVERYTHING-suffering and adversity are the means that makes us hungry for GOD. Disapointments will wean us away wordly occupations. Even sin(when repented of) becomes a mechanism to push us closer to HIM as we experience His Love and Forgiveness.
Moderators Bravus Posted April 10, 2007 Moderators Posted April 10, 2007 Sorry, I was not saying the people I listed use that word, I was saying that all of us speak out of what is in our hearts Quote Truth is important
