Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted September 10, 2009 Members Posted September 10, 2009 What parable illustrates the principle that no man can serve two masters? was this a parable? Don't store up your treasures on earth; store up your treasures in heaven. I found the story in Matthew 6:19-24 Quote Pam      Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Administrators Gail Posted September 10, 2009 Author Administrators Posted September 10, 2009 Good answer, Pam. Yes, the principle is a parable found in the story of the unjust steward in Luke 16. The master commends the steward for dealing shrewdly. Actually, I personally think that the steward dealt crummily with the master and THEN dealt shrewdly with those who owed his master money just to save his own skin. I would call that expediency or something like that... In any case, verse 13 carries the principle that one cannot serve both God and mammon (worldliness). It just doesn't work. Let's go on to the next one: In what parable did Jesus tell the chief priests and elders that publicans and harlots would enter the kingdom of God before they did?
