Not to think himself the only one capable of doing certain jobs....but to set up rulers over 10's, 100's, 1000's etc to

sort out disputes so that only the major cases were brought to

Moses' attention.

Thanks, Nan! That was very good advice, indeed. You can read about it in Exodus 18.

Sammy's away AGAIN? Well, I'm glad you're keeping yourself out of trouble by coming HERE to play the quiz!! :)

Joab was actually David's nephew, for the was the son of David's sister. David was one of the youngest of the family, we know that he was the youngest son, so Joab might well have been around his age. You will find that reference in 1 Chron. 2:12-16 or 1 Samuel 26:6)

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Yes I should go read it and not rely on an obviously fading memory.

Sammy is in Indonesia, visiting family and of course will do some preaching along the way.

Well, even if Sammy was at home, it's always a joy to see you with us, Nan! :)

Pam found the correct answer- yes, it was Naomi, who wanted to be called, "Mara (bitterness)" because of the sorrow of losing her husband and two sons. Ruth must have been such a comfort to her.

was this a parable? Don't store up your treasures on earth; store up your treasures in heaven.

I found the story in Matthew 6:19-24

Good answer, Pam. Yes, the principle is a parable found in the story of the unjust steward in Luke 16. The master commends the steward for dealing shrewdly. Actually, I personally think that the steward dealt crummily with the master and THEN dealt shrewdly with those who owed his master money just to save his own skin. I would call that expediency or something like that... :)

In any case, verse 13 carries the principle that one cannot serve both God and mammon (worldliness). It just doesn't work.

Let's go on to the next one:
