Moderators John317 Posted February 21, 2009 Moderators Posted February 21, 2009 Soros sees no bottom for world financial "collapse" 49 mins ago NEW YORK (Reuters) – Renowned investor George Soros said on Friday the world financial system has effectively disintegrated, adding that there is yet no prospect of a near-term resolution to the crisis. Soros said the turbulence is actually more severe than during the Great Depression, comparing the current situation to the demise of the Soviet Union. He said the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers in September marked a turning point in the functioning of the market system. "We witnessed the collapse of the financial system," Soros said at a Columbia University dinner. "It was placed on life support, and it's still on life support. There's no sign that we are anywhere near a bottom." His comments echoed those made earlier at the same conference by Paul Volcker, a former Federal Reserve chairman who is now a top adviser to President Barack Obama. Volcker said industrial production around the world was declining even more rapidly than in the United States, which is itself under severe strain. "I don't remember any time, maybe even in the Great Depression, when things went down quite so fast, quite so uniformly around the world," Volcker said. LifeHiscost Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Soros sees no bottom for world financial "collapse" Nothing strikes so much fear in man's heart like the inability to acquire funds for necessary livelihood. Do I hear a rapidly approaching event of prophetic importance. " For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? "Matthew 6:24 NASB "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love."1 John 4:18 NASB "...no one may be able to buy, or to sell, except he who is having the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." Revelation 13:17 YLT "...and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name."Rev 13:17 NASB Blessings! BSW Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 The form of money that is presently available must be extinguished if there is to be a form of total control. The dollar is currently being used as the global currency for the most part, so it must crash. Out of the ashes will be a new form of control (which in actuality will be a credit\debit system of governance)that will oppress all people not willing to go along with the law makers. Through this control the beast power will raise it's ugly head and oppress God's true church (which is formed through many, many different denominated peoples). The United States will be the leader in this ideology, which of course is very flawed, nonetheless, they will try to harbor control. There will be much suffering and death. He who rules the money will rule the world, except for an elect few. I hear the word revolution being thrown around. The states seem to be fighting for the 10 ammendment to be reinstated, however it may be too late. When the Scriptures tell us that the time of the end will be worst than we can even imagine, I imagine it will be really bad. We are not to fear for the future however, just make sure our hearts are pure and our garments are clean. Preparation is going to essential to those that wish to spread God's truth to a dying world during this little time of trouble. We need to stock up on supplies of food and water (we are working on about a 3 month supply that we can rotate in and out). When we cannot buy or sell we have to be able to still give the everlasting gospel to those that Jesus puts in our path. Some of us will be martyred, some of us will be imprisioned, and some of us will escape to the mountains at the very end. This is not going to be fun, but it will not last. Jesus will be our only shield at this time, and we will be living by faith alone. Is my faith strong enough for such a catastrophe? This is the question we all must ask ourselves. go to infowars.com to see some of the interesting things preparing for an ignorant dumbed down society. (non SDA site) Peace Quote

We are not to fear for the future however, just make sure our hearts are pure and our garments are clean. It's true. If you can imagine the Jewish holocaust on a world wide scale, that is about the way it will be, only worse, because it will be accompanied by natural catastrophes the likes of which the world has never seen before. Most people don't realize that the only reason we do anything good for other people and the only reason for loving, unselfish acts, is due completely to the presence of the Holy Spirit. But at the time we are talking about, the Holy Spirit will be completely withdrawn and God will allow Satan total control over those who are not sealed with the seal of God. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Actually, I was talking of the time just prior to that time. During the little time of trouble. We will see oppression in the likes we have never before witnessed, even in Africa. This is the reason we are not to live in the cities, but in the country. When marshal law is enforced because of anarchy, we need to be safe in the confines of the country. Notwithstanding, we can still reach the city via walk, bike or however, because Jesus may still have His own there. Our mission is to try and save the lost, at any cost. It will not be pleasant, but how happy can we make one that is saved in that day only eternity will estimate. However, once probation is closed all bets then are off, then he that is holy will be holy still, ect... Peace Quote

Yes but America is the country of prophecy. It is America that will speak as a dragon. When the "way of doing business" is so set up for oppression, and our heavenly Father is sending judgments, the image to the beast will be set up as sure as I am writing this. It is then that we shall see who are the real God fearing Christians and those who just profess (have a "form of Godliness, but deny the power"). Again preparation and mission is the call we need to heed. Peace Quote

Robert Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Robert I'm guessing your talking about the Pope? pk Yes...Don't care for him at all! He is a "holy Joe" because he is self-righteous. Any so-called Christian who would let himself be addressed as "his holiness" or "holy father" is utterly deceived. Hence 1 John 1:8 Maybe folks should call him "wholly father" as in "wholly deceived"? Rob Quote

Members phkrause Posted February 21, 2009 Members Posted February 21, 2009 Interesting title! I know what you mean. I know that there are other names, like Father, Reverent, etc. Doesn't Jesus say that we should not allow others to call us by these titles? I guess they've never really read the Bible! I try not to judge, all I know is that God only knows what's in the hearts. I can have an opinion on the matter but I shouldn't judge, this is God's work. pk Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Robert Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Here’s the scenario I see happening in the future: 1] Humanism will continue to gain popularity in the US. 2] Because mankind is by nature selfish (bent-to-self – meaning he does nothing selflessly) the less God is “in the mix” the more we will see corruption at the highest level. 3] Because the masses depend upon the system and because the system is corrupt and becoming more so every day, you will see a total breakdown of all worldly systems. 4] This is where “his holiness” steps in. He has the solution for the global markets. These solutions will be backed by “signs and wonders” proving that God is on the side of the Papacy. 5] When the US fully accepts his requirements and in good faith bridges the gap between church and state, God will remove His Spirit from those whom have rejected the third angel’s message (justification by faith alone) 6] This will sink the whole world into utter despair and anarchy. “The world” will then turn on those who reject the Papacy’s claims and thereby turn its back on the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the beginning of the time of trouble. Rob Quote

It will not be pleasant, but how happy can we make one that is saved in that day only eternity will estimate. However, once probation is closed all bets then are off, then he that is holy will be holy still, ect... I agree. Something I've been thinking about lately is that Ellen White says the time will come before the close of probation when SDAs will be scattered all over because it will be God's way of spreading the truth all around the world. She mentions that faithful SDAs will go into many foreign countries. It makes it sound like we will have trouble in the USA and will therefore go to other countries. I'll have to find that exact quote. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. There will be many martyred for the truth right here in the USA (as well as everywhere else) before the end of probation, but none will be martyred after the end of probation, although it will look like they may all be killed. Robert Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 "The bride" (Christ's people) will be treated as He was treated. Why? Because Christ is in heaven where no one can touch Him, but "the bride" is on earth where she can be touched. Luke 22:52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and the elders who had come to Him, "Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs? 53 When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not try to seize Me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness." Quote

Moderators John317 Posted February 21, 2009 Author Moderators Posted February 21, 2009 I agree with you. I don't think it's too far off when we will begin to see some of those things happening. In fact, I think we're seeing some of them now. Things are shaping up just the way we've been told in both Bible prophecy and the Spirit of Prophecy that it would happen. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
