Woody Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 We were told that this one from Amelia was for "everyone and all forums". Well ... it seems that those in the political one ... seemed to feel they had an exemption: Quote: Houston we have a problem... 1.If anyone is replying to a thread in general and not to a specific post; please begin your post by saying or in someway indicating it is a general thought and to no one person. 2. If anyone replies to a specific post; please reply to the topic of that post and NOT to the poster. Replying to the poster can be seen (and often is) a personal attack. 3. If anyone makes a personal attack on a poster than that person will be asked to ammend their post or if it's too late to ammend, then a public apology will be made Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
True-believer Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Rules are all very well, but they require moderators to enforce them. And quite simply, no-one is willing to put their head in the hornet's nest by moderating the Politics forum. Impasse. TB's 2cents... Luckily we have our great moderator--Jesus Christ--to keep us in tact with His Law--The Ten Commandments--as a delight and a joy--and not as a burden. What we need is a moderator like that but for the politics forum... Any takers??? Quote Luke 4:19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Planey Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Come on, Luke. One minute you're talking about religion, then you shift to talking about real life (ie posting). Make up your mind, mate! Surely everybody knows that we need to keep those two well separated? /tic mode off... Liz Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Ya'll are a peice of cake. Cricket stated: Aubrey/Cricket no longer sees a valid, positive, uplifting reason for posting at Adventist Forums/Club Adventist. Thank you for spending time with me over the past 6 years, but it's time for me to move on. Blessings to you all. Fare well. She did not mention that it was the politics forum that made her leave. She said this in TOWNHALL. Ya'll have taken her "goodbye" thread where we ALL should have wished her well and hoped that she would return in the future and turned it into ya'll's personal agenda. Ya'll have proved her point, and nicely too I might add. Quote For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Key Guy Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Liz, They are "no longer see(ing) a valid, positive, uplifting reason for posting at Adventist Forums/Club Adventist", so we are drawing a conclusion regarding the Politics forum as no other area seems to be fitting the conditions mentioned above. What other areas of CA are not v,p,u? What do you see that I don't? Quote
Moderators lazarus Posted May 5, 2009 Moderators Posted May 5, 2009 Cricket, I also would like to say that I'm sorry to see you go. Do what you have to do to preserve your sanity/humanity I too have an announcement. I want to thank everyone for their friendship and the fun times we've had posting on various topics. This may come as a disappointment to some but I plan to keep posting and to remain a part of this forum! Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. Liz Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 KeyGuy, I have no idea what other areas are not p, u and v seeing as how I am not Cricket. However, if they wanted to discuss this, it should have been on a different and new thread. Quote For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Woody Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Politics have been banned from this forum. So to post a picture of Obama as your avatar is in stark contrast to the rules and in violation of the separation of Forum and Politics. I object. This is Townhall and no political promotions such as a pic of Obama are allowed. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

jasd Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 QR frame: First, let me say that I’ve enjoyed and gained from many of Cricket’s posts. That said, I’m surprised that a ‘maven’ feels it necessary to leave our company upon the ‘F’ chord of a swan(?) song. It has been my observation that Cricket gave as good as she got – and as far as ‘p’, ‘v’, and uplifting..., why not simply light a candle and gild the lily*, as it were – rather than seemingly dissing the postings of the list. I thought better of her and urge her to change her mind as – unlikely as it may seem – I’ll miss her input. Re: the Political Forum... The only board where one might find any spritz. How refreshing! Where else might one be called a “crazy woman” for outpointing the competition? Hoo-ah! *mixed metaphor? you tell me... _____________________ “I would that you were cold or hot...” –the Big Sky Chief Quote
Outta Here Posted May 6, 2009 Author Posted May 6, 2009 Point well taken, jasd. Still, I don't want to be that person who "[gives] as good as she got." And with that, It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known. - Sidney Carton from A Tale Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens Quote
