jasd Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only." Okay, I am not so far removed from being obnoxious. But more to the point - you're not, and your posting benefits me. Stick around. Quote

GreatLakesGramma Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 See Aubrey, there's a positive reason for you to stay. Your posting benefits other people. If you feel that negativity and combativeness are rubbing off on you from the forum, maybe you could just avoid the forums where that is the worst. I do. I also drop out of threads on Townhall if they turn nasty. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. Woody Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Quote: The only board where one might find any spritz. How refreshing! Where else might one be called a “crazy woman” for outpointing the competition? Hoo-ah! Are you allowed to make a quote such as "crazy woman" here in TownHall? Well ... I guess it was done and not deleted. Hmmm. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Woody Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Nothing fake at all. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators Bravus Posted May 6, 2009 Moderators Posted May 6, 2009 Meh, let's not fight about it. I could object to 'out-pointed' above as well, and suggest that opening old wounds is perhaps the least appropriate thing of all in this thread, but what's the point? Quote Truth is important
Woody Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Whatever. But it would be refreshing if someone just admitted to what they did instead of trying to sidestep. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators Bravus Posted May 6, 2009 Moderators Posted May 6, 2009 OK. I used the words 'crazy' and 'woman' in the same sentence, but not together. I've admitted it, and I've apologised for it already, and withdrawn the statement. Not sure what more I can do before people will be willing to let it go. Now if I had a time machine... Dr. Shane Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 what sailor guy? I don't remember him...hmmmm. The captain of some ship or someone like that. Pretty ugly dude. Outta Here Posted May 6, 2009 Author Posted May 6, 2009 Thank you, everyone for taking time out to wish me well in this thread. I have a lot of things to think about right now and am uncertain whether or not I'll be staying. I am reading threads; I do have opinions on many things; I will share when I feel I can do it in a positive, uplifting manner. Quote

Redwood, I do appreciate the fact that you did not condone certain behaviors and felt some things were out of line. It is not worth you being called to account if this continues. Aubrey was the focus of this thread and should remain so Maybe I am getting mellow in my old age but I really am not upset over what was said. If I would have have considered the ones doing so as friends or if I held respect for their opinion it probably would have bothered me. That is not the case concerning the participants. In fact I am quite content at the place I am in life,I have more than most to be thankful for. Bonnie Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
