Dr. Shane Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 This has nothing to do with getting drunk and sleeping without his underwear. My children insist that Noah was a vegetarian and never ate meat. So what is all this talk about Noah eating meat? It's a rumor! Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Guest Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 If Noah had been a meat eater, the animals wouldn't have felt safe to go in the ark. Quote
Neil D Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 What IS the matter with you, Shane...??? If your children say that Noah was a vegetarian, what's the problem? Just because YOU eat meat, and see a pepperoni pizza around every corner and a chicken pot pie around all the others is no reason for you to insist that Noah was like you.... Besides, if he had taken his ground up flak seed on a daily basis, he would have never gotten depressed and got drunk....He would have been regular...and not constipated...[i am sure it's a common ale-ment with those who eat meat!] Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. Moderators Bravus Posted August 13, 2009 Moderators Posted August 13, 2009 ale-ment: love it! There was a reason for taking 7 of the things he could eat and only 2 of the things he couldn't, IMO... and unless he had some fairly serious gardens on the ark it'd be tough to keep veggies fresh for a year without a fridge... oh, that's right, I forgot, the ark was actually hi-tech! Moderators John317 Posted August 13, 2009 Moderators Posted August 13, 2009 Good thinking. I believe it. God gave Adam charge of the garden of Eden, to dress it and to keep it, and of the trees and herbs bearing seed, He said, "They shall be for meat" (see Genesis 1:29; 3:18). Afterward the eating of flesh meat was permitted as one of the consequences of the fall. Before the flood, no provision was made for the use of animal food. . . . This Day With God (1979), page 210, paragraph 6 PP 92-- But after the Fall, men chose to follow their own sinful desires; and as the result, crime and wretchedness rapidly increased.... They delighted in destroying the life of animals; and the use of flesh for food rendered them still more cruel and bloodthirsty, until they came to regard human life with astonishing indifference. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Dr. Shane Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 I guess pickles wouldn't require solar-powered refrigerators. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

Neil D Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Not really. I think they had pickles. Proof positive that Noah had sin with him as he transitioned into the new earth...We all know that sin kills....my daughter did a study on 19th century people who ate pickles.... ...AND EVERYONE OF THEM DIED. Dr. Rich Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 It says Noah got drunk. He probably wet his pants and took em off and laid down to sleep it off. Isn't this reasonable? I mean, if you didn't have anyone to chat and argue with, wouldn't you too want to get drunk? What Ham's mistake was to make fun and then tell others of this. It is clear that his brothers didn't make fun--for they probably had to deal with this many times before. Making fun of your parents was a big no-no. It is one of the commandments too, to honer your parents (and therefore don't make fun of them). I think this whole issue is as simple as this. Quote
Guest Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 As long as you're around Dr. Rich, I won't have to get drunk. We can argue. Quote
Dr. Shane Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 Wait a minute! Wait a minute! Wait one minute! The Ten Commandments didn't exist until Moses. That honoring the parents thing is just a Jewish law. Don't go laying that legalistic burden on us now. There were no Commandments in Noah's day. Anyway, Noah found grace in the eyes of God. That is like a license to sin. Noah had grace so he could get drunk and naked all he wanted to. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

Musicman1228 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God. Gen.6:9. 6662 tsaddiyq tsad-deek'; just:--just, lawful, righteous 8549 tamiym-integrity, truth:--without blemish, complete, full, perfect, sincerely (-ity), sound, without spot, undefiled, upright(-ly), whole. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. Gen.6:8.KJV But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. Gen.6:8 ESV 2580 chen khane; graciousness, i.e. subjective (kindness, favor) or objective (beauty):--favour, grace(-ious), pleasant, precious, (well-)favoured. It is obvious that the word 'grace' in v.8 is not used in the New Testament Paul-ine context. The word 'chen'in Hebrew merely means what is shown above - favor. Noah did not need the grace defined by Paul because he was just, lawful, and righteous (Strong's 2580), and for that reason God found him to have integrity, full of truth, without blemish or spot, upright and undefiled (Strong's 8549). According to Paul grace operates only in someone that is not all those things that Noah was. If you are righteous what need have you for grace? Did Jesus Christ, the sinless, blameless Son of God, need grace to become sanctified? If "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" then whoever penned that sentence forgot about Noah. This disproves the idea that it is impossible to become righteous. If God found Noah righteous without grace then why not you and me? Quote
