Vicious Rumor About Noah

I am not sure that is completely true regarding abortion, there was a news release done in the past, they do not do walk in abortions and most, if not all, do not do non-life threatening abortions on demand, that you can get in other hospitals.

I respectfully disagree. My mother works in the OB/GYN deparment at SMMC and she says otherwise. Abortion on demand unfortunately legal here in KS, into the 3rd trimester.

But either way always go to the Word!!” Billye Brim

My children insist that Noah was a vegetarian and never ate meat.

I believe since none of us were there, we should just consider that is a very real possibility.

Only 5 or so decades along, so I am not 500+ years old like Noah, but I could not deliberately sit down and eat a dead animal. He had 5 or so centuries to get set in his ways.

...I can walk into my local SDA hospital (SMMC) and get an abortion for my wife or girlfriend...

Does your wife know about your girlfriend?

I was wondering the same thing. I am looking forward to the answer.

Good point dgrimm, without plants around, one would have to eat the clean animals that went into the ark.

What? There wasnt room for canned goods? We know that there were, in that he died....He must have eaten pickles.....

Yeah, but no-one has answered my 'what would EGW say?' question: I'm sure she had some very harsh words for eaters of pickles... And yet those who roundly condemn meat eaters have also loudly proclaimed their love of pickles!

Well, what can they say? I think that eating pickles is a slow and insidious process and will take a lifetime to kill you.....However long that may be...

573. In this fast age, the less exciting the food, the better. Condiments are injurious in their nature. Mustard, pepper, spices, pickles, and other things of a like character irritate the stomach and make the blood feverish and impure. {CD 345.1}

[C.T.B.H. 61, 62] (1890) F.E. 150, 151

574. I was seated once at the table with several children under twelve years of age. Meat was plentifully served, and then a delicate, nervous girl called for pickles. A bottle of chowchow, fiery with mustard and pungent with spices, was handed her, from which she helped herself freely. The child was proverbial for her nervousness and irritability of temper, and these fiery condiments were well calculated to produce such a condition. {CD 345.2}

Pa's Pickles... Many years ago, I worked for the guy that used to own the company... At that time he was basically doing it all in his garage. He had just bought the recipe and equipment from the man who started Pa's Pickles.

How about some deep fried pickles?

I am not aware of any statement coming from Ellen White stating that it is wrong to deep fry pickles. It's just the pickles that she is opposed to. Once you have sinned though ... a double sin is no different.

Which only goes to show that two wrongs don't make a right, but two wrights did make an airplane....and that shows how far we've come from that vicious rumor about Noah....and what was it again....?

Back in the days when there were no refrigerators or freezers, and people couldn't go to the store and buy fruit and vegetables during the winter, they had to use every means possible to preserve what they could grow during the summer, to last them until the next year's garden began yielding its produce. Nobody let any garden produce go to waste back in those days, because they might go hungry if they did. I wonder if there was some other way to preserve cucumbers than pickling them. They don't keep very long otherwise, even in the refrigerator.

ale-ment: love it!

There was a reason for taking 7 of the things he could eat and only 2 of the things he couldn't, IMO... and unless he had some fairly serious gardens on the ark it'd be tough to keep veggies fresh for a year without a fridge... oh, that's right, I forgot, the ark was actually hi-tech!

:) You guys...

Genesis 9 (post flood)

3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

Why would God say that if Noah was already a meat eater? There are plenty of ways to preserve veggies for a year. You can dry them, you can pickle them, and don't forget about the grains and nuts... which can hold for a while. But of course, it's hard for us to grasp with "The power's out, the food rots" mindset bwink.

Evidently Noah was a vegetarian before the flood as was, presumably , the rest of mankind. I wonder what Noah's reaction was to eating his first piece of animal flesh?

Posted

Maybe that is why he guzzled the fermented grape juice?? He ate his first piece of animal flesh and thought "Yuck!!" and grabbed for the nearest thing to wash it down with and well the rest as they say is "History". He was just having a bad day all way 'round.

When animal sacrifices were made, they ate the animals. That began when Adam and eve were expelled from Eden. They sacrificed animals at the gate of Eden.

Wow, I thought that they burned up the animal sacrifices. So, do you think Cain was a vegetarian then?

P.S. what I said about Noah, was meant to be taken light-heartedly, but not everyone gets my sense of humor.

They ate some of the sacrifices that were presented at the tabernacle, and later the temple, but the Bible does not describe any the way sacrifices were offered before the flood. If they only offered sin offerings, they would not have eaten any part of them.
