I would agree with that. :-) Quote The best wisdom is always second hand...

Is it okay to be "hard" on the liberals as well? Quote The best wisdom is always second hand...
Woody Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 If you want to be hard on the Truth .... that is up to you. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Guest Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Liberals with truth? What would they do with it? First they would need to dilute it, so that it would be more palatable. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2Thes 2:10-12 Quote
skyblue888 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 We know that neither the conservatives nor the liberals had the saving truths in the days of Christ. These truths had been buried underneath their false theories, doctrines, and maxims. The work of Christ was to unearth all these truths that had been kept away from the people. The conservatives and the liberals, who had heretofore been avowed enemies, finally joined hands to fight Christ who had exposed their false teachings simply by teaching and living the truths which He taught. Thus He became their common enemy. They knew that He taught nothing but the truth, but they were too proud to acknowledge it and therefore they would rather oppose His work than be sanctified by the truth. There is nothing new under the sun. We are repeating their history. Today neither the conservatives nor the liberals in the church are presenting the truth as it is in Jesus. In 1888 the Lord sent a most precious message which presented the truth as it is in Jesus but this truth was resisted by both conservatives and liberals. See 1 S.M.234,235. Since then the spiritual condition of the professed people of God has been going from bad to worse, adding sin to sin, rebellion to rebellion. "The prejudices and opinions that prevailed at Minneapolis are not dead by any means; the seeds that were sown there in some hearts are ready to spring into life and bear a like harvest. The tops have been cut down, but the roots have never been eradicated, and they still bear their unholy fruit to poison the judgment, pervert the perceptions, and blind the understanding of those with whom you connect, in regard to the message and the messengers. When, by thorough confession, you destroy the root of bitterness, you will see light in God's light. Without this thorough work you will never clear your souls." T.M.467. In the book Testimonies to Ministers, under the title, REJECTING THE LIGHT, Mrs. White tells us plainly what "the truth as it is in Jesus" is and which was resisted: "Unless he makes it his life business to behold the uplifted Saviour and to accept the merits which it is his privilege to claim, the sinner can no more be saved than Peter could walk upon the water unless he kept his eyes fixed steadily upon Jesus." T.M.93. So this is the only way the sinner can be saved. Ever looking unto Jesus and accepting His merits which it is his privilege to claim. Are we doing this? "The only faith that will benefit us is that which embraces Him as a personal Saviour: which appropriates His merits to ourselves." D.A.347. This is how Christ's righteousness is brought into the life (See F.W.65,66) and it is thus and thus only that we become new creatures in Christ Jesus and we must continue to exercise this faith, by daily hanging our helpless souls upon the merits of the crucified and risen Saviour that the work of sanctification may be going forward, from one stage to another, from grace to grace and from victory to victory. Thus the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us. This love is diffused through the whole being. This is nothing less than the hoarded love of eternity which fulfils every jot and tittle of the law of God. Rom.13:10; 5:5; 3:25. sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
