I remember yrs ago when in Hawai'i, an under 18'ner could drink alcohol in restaurants/clubs when accompanied by a parent. I suggest swapping "alcoholic beverage" for "adult beverage" to lessen confusion. Since children can purchase any kind of caffenated beverage, I would not list those as "adult beverages". As to the question... use to alot. Today, very rarely. Only because they trigger my migraines. I used to enjoy straight vodka and Southern Comfort, etc., but I stopped after reading Samuel Bacchiocchi's book about wine in the bible. He shows that the Bible doesn't give any evidence in support of it, I believe his arguments. My wife uses sometimes uses a little wine when cooking turkey, but the alcohol dissipates in the oven. Many, many years ago, I tried beer and wine, but they tasted vile. One taste was enough for me - more than enough. I never could stand the taste of coffee or tea either, even though I did try to get used to the taste of coffee enough to drink it, since all the adults I knew drank it. I just couldn't force it down. Then I became an Adventist, and was glad I wasn't going to be the only non-coffee drinker in my social circle any more. I just couldn't force it down. Then I became an Adventist, and was glad I wasn't going to be the only non-coffee drinker in my social circle any more. My parents drank alcohol and coffee before becoming SDAs. I tried drinking coffee once, while in the army. I spit it out as soon as it hit my taste buds. Still don't see what people like about it. I guess they started drinking it so they could stay awake. If I wanted or needed to stay awake I'd just stay awake, no problem. Also tried beer and spit it out because it tasted like piss (sorry if that offends anyone). I doubt very many people like the taste of those things the first time they drink them. It's an acquired taste. I remember the first time I drank it, in the army. I hated the taste. I drink green tea and some other herb teas, which I don't believe are harmful. Tea is made to taste better when you add lemon, but I like the taste of green tea by itself. Before anyone asks how I know, in high school advanced biology class we did urinalysis lab work for several days running, using the same urine samples the entire time. I call it adult because I am not sure how many juveniles can stand the taste . I have tasted deacoholised wine (different from sparkling grape juice) and I was distinctly unimpressed with the taste so I do not think I am in any danger of becoming alcoholic. Which is not accounted unto me a virtue, it is just something that has no appeal. Quote
