Why are so Many Women Unhappy?

We know that while man's inhumanity toward men is great, the degredation of women is also great. That is why Paul attempted to create order by having the women just plain shut up in church...They are more prone for gossip...although men are less prone, they are still subject to the temptation.

hmmmm, i find men quite gossipy. it appears to have nothing to do with race, either. each of the street corners have their groups, just talking up a storm about so-and-so.

Hummm, just wondering what in the world most women are preceived to be unhappy about.

My unhappiness comes from folks not living up to what they portray themselves to be.

Yada yada, they are only human. But isn't that just an excuse for not acting truthfully? It really is irrating & disappointing when people try to pull the wool over your eyes.

I think there are a lot of reasons women may be unhappy. Being tired from trying to do too much is part of it, but there are other parts. The erosion of moral standards in society, and even, sadly, the church, is another part. Having to choose between following the right standards and a significant other is not a pleasant choice. And EGW said man's (or woman's) inhumanity to man is among the greatest sins.

Them women might be unhappy because they thought that feminist hoopla would be just the thing. But they were pushing against a wall that God Himself erected, and that can be a tiring thing I spose.

When men are men and women are women everybody's happy except Satan, but we don't care what he thinks anyhow.

That's right, Aldona -- you're saying, as I was trying to say, that if the part of the verse that says "he shall rule over thee" is an injunction, so would be the verses directed towards Adam. God wasn't saying, "You must work the ground with painful toil," He was saying, "You will," because the ground was cursed. Therefore, He wasn't saying to Eve, "Your husband must rule over you," but that "he will," because of the whole painful part of life that makes women what we are, that part of the curse. Modern developments and medicine have done much to erase that, and women are able to ignore much of the physical symptoms, in addition to childbirth, that kept them subservient in the past.

The trouble is, men need women just as much as they always have, but women need men less, at least in the being-taken-care-of realm. Maybe that's what makes women unhappy. We need to need someone, and we're being talked out of that need, made to look old-fashioned and silly if we say we need a man for anything but the basics.
