Which God did they follow? Or are you suggesting that they followed Satan?

So you can't refute what I said? If the first four are written on the heart/mind then why aren't all Christians keeping the Sabbath?

Because every one who claims to be a christian, or thinks they are a Christian, does not neccessarily make it so. This is plainly taught by Jesus himself.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Luk 6:46 And why call me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

The ones who truly are seeking to do God's will, and are genuine in their faith. When they discover the Sabbath truth, they start keeping the Sabbath.

It is not neccessary for all of His sheep from other folds to be convicted of the Sabbath truth at the same time. But the time will come when they will have to make a choice concerning the Sabbath.

Some He draws quickly, and some slowly. God does not work with everyone the same way.

Moses and David were not Christians

Yes they were. They had faith in the Savior that was to come. We have faith in the risen Savior. It's the same Savior.

So all Sunday-keepers are not Christian? Hmmm?

You should read the whole post before you stick your foot in your mouth. I never said Sunday keepers weren't Christians.

Now wait just a minute. All Christians conscientiously know that it's wrong to kill, steal, etc....Then why don't all know about the Sabbath since, according to you, it is written into one's conscientiousness?

Do all who claim to be Christians, refrain from stealing etc. ?

This was my whole point, which you obviously ignored. All who claim to be Christians are not. It would appear that the majority of those who make the claim, are not.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Woody, The commandment is NOT: "Thou shall not kill" The real commandment is "Thou shall NOT commit murder". Big difference here and just one of the reasons I don't like the King James Version.

Why? Because they don't keep the Sabbath?

Doesn't matter...the result is the same, death. If you shoot me, but you don't hate me I guess you would call that killing me...but if you hate me then I guess to you that would be murder. Either way I don't care because if I get shot I'll be dead....

No, not at all. You're so short sighted, it is a waste of time trying to explain anything to you.

Then help me understand....If the Sabbath is written on the heart why don't other Christians keep the Sabbath?

In their heart ... they do.

In their heart ... they do.

But they keep Sunday....

My understanding is that the Sabbath isn't written in the heart. Let me give you a verse:

1 John 3:23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son [faith], Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us [reflected in the last 6 commandments].

What then is the function of the Sabbath? First of all it is a sign...a symbol. Like any symbol it must point to a truth.

The way I see it the Sabbath is not a "test of faith" now. Neither is Sunday "the mark of beast" now. These signs will one day come into play, but for now when one believes God then He begins to write the principle of the last 6 commandments in the believer's heart.

The reasons that 'Christians' keep Sunday is nothing more than they believe that Jesus Christ was resurrected on Sunday morning. And if this was actually the true then they would have a case for a day of Sunday rest. But this is not the case. Jesus Christ was resurrected on Sabbath just before sunset. This confirms the authenticity of the Sabbath as the 'day of rest' that God instituted on the 7th day of creation.

I also agree with the fact that according to the 4th Commandment the Sabbath is a 'day of rest' not a day of worship. This is not to say you cannot worship on the Sabbath if you choose. This is the same as choosing to worship on Sunday if you choose, as long as you keep the 7th day Sabbath rest.

What do you think of this?

Doesn't matter, if the Sabbath law is written in the heart all would be keeping the 7th day.

Robert, you have a real good point. When God said what He did to Jeremiah, don't you believe that this was for the group that was prophesied about in Dan. 9:24? If so, then this 'second chance group of Jews' (as I call them) never did complete or comply with this prophecy, did they? We read in Matthew 21:43 that the KOH was taken away from them, so I suppose they never did have the ten commandments written in their hearts.

The writing of the law on the heart has not to do with the letter of the law, but the spirit of the law.

A tithe is a tenth of our earnings, given as recognition that all that we have comes from the Lord, and as an expression that all monetary goods we have are the Lord's. Similarly the Sabbath is one seventh of our time, dedicated to Him, as an expression that all that we have is His. If we are the Lord's, all our monetary good, and all our time, is His.

This is what it means to have the Sabbath written in the heart.

Christ exalted the character of God, attributing to him the praise, and giving to him the credit, of the whole purpose of his own mission on earth,--to set men right through the revelation of God.

that made me think of:

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

What is written on the heart is the desire to do God's will. "Yea, I delight to do thy will O God." There will be different interpretations of what God's will is, but the desire to seek and serve Him is the critical difference. If we desire to do His will, we shall know of the doctrine. (By the way, for those who teach that obedience is optional - obedience IS the doctrine. We might be mistaken about what day to keep, but we certainly better be sold out to obeying God's will in whatever we understand that to be.)

The spirit of the law includes the letter of the law, but I think God winks at ignorant observation of the wrong day as Sabbath. Other commandments have less wiggle room for ignorance. Stealing is stealing. Killing is killing.

What we are told about God winking at Wm Miller's inability to see the reality of the Sabbath truth is a great encouragement to me. God is not out to fry us.

But, again, there wouldn't be any ignorance if the Sabbath law was written on the heart.

Wherever there is an impulse of love [agape] and sympathy, wherever the heart reaches out to bless and uplift others, there is revealed the working of God’s Holy Spirit. In the depths of heathenism, men who have had no knowledge of the written law of God, who have never even heard the name of Christ, have been kind to His servants, protecting them at the risk of their own lives. Their acts show the working of a divine power. The Holy Spirit has implanted the grace of Christ in the heart of the savage, quickening his sympathies contrary to his nature, contrary to his education. The “Light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world” (John 1:9), is shining in his soul; and this light, if heeded, will guide his feet to the kingdom of God.

[EGW]

Note, agape is written in the heart. I bet the savage is eating unclean meats...not keeping the Sabbath, even has idols around.

I agree with you on this Robert. Tithe is not a part of the 'marriage contract' or covenant God has with His Bride. Many who don't understand or have not been told about the importance of the 'marriage contract' but practice agape love will probably be saved. Clearly, the sabbath was given to man in order for him to REMEMBER just who created him and to provide a day where man does not have to feel guilty for not doing all of the chores on the list his wife gave to him. (Ha Ha) As one grows older, the more he will find that this is true!

Quote:

What is written on the heart is the desire to do God's will.

Can you prove that from Scripture?

Is it about "desire" to do God's will? Or actually doing it?

Quote:
"Yea, I delight to do thy will O God." There will be different interpretations of what God's will is,

Do you think that "God's will" is subject to "interpretation" by us?

Quote:

Scripture?

Quote:

So "God's will" is subject to "whatever we understand" it to be?

I find this most confusing, and quite convenient for all those who wish to think they are, in fact, doing the will of God.
