Not until you give me a very good reason to help subsidize your reduction.

No subsidizing is going on. The government bought my loan from the bank, refinanced and gave me better terms. Now all the interest I will be paying will go into the public treasury. So it was good for me and the tax payers. You have to give him credit where credit is due. Obama did good.

Really? Where did this government money come from? When the government takes from taxpayers to fund your education and is going to cause a loss of 5% interest to the public treasury, what LaLa land is the money coming from and where and who will make up the interest.

I know it is a tough concept but the government does not produce independent revenue. It has what it takes from one sector and hands to another.

A novel idea, pay your own expenses without Obama taking from others and giving to you

It comes from my pocket. I am paying the loan off with interest. The tax payers make money. It is a win - win -win.

In theory that is true but in actuality I think the Federal Reserve just prints a lot of it.

In actuality,Obama is playing with over a trillion dollars is student loans. The interest income reduction on over a trillion dollars is not peanuts nor is it a free lunch

As typical you can use whatever excuse you can come up with but the bottom line is you are more than willing to accept taxpayer money to help with the terms of a student loan you took out and promised to pay. Now the taxpayers can help you pick up the tab.You are able bodied and it sounds as if your wife is healthy,so why do you want others to pay?

Taxpayers are not picking up my tab. I am paying my student loans back and have been. Originally my student loans were financed on a graduated scale over 30 years. Obama refinanced them over 20 years at a flat payment. Now all the interest I was paying to the bank goes to the national treasury.

Isn't that at a reduced interest rate 5%? Less for the national treasury.

Only in the world of some can the government take taxpayer money to subsidize higher education, cause a 5% loss in interest and say it costs the taxpayer nothing.Obama refinanced NOTHING.The taxpayer is forced to refinance your loans, accept a lower interest rate and less for the national treasury. All the while taking money from the private sector to do so

8. He prevented the American auto industry from bankruptcy

.

Way to go Obama. How much more to keep this company afloat at taxpayer expense?

Detroit News:

The Treasury Department dramatically boosted its estimate of losses from its $85 billion auto industry bailout by more than $9 billion in the face of General Motors Co.’s steep stock decline.

In its monthly report to Congress, the Treasury Department now says it expects to lose $23.6 billion, up from its previous estimate of $14.33 billion.

The Treasury now pegs the cost of the bailout of GM, Chrysler Group LLC and the auto finance companies at $79.6 billion. It no longer includes $5 billion it set aside to guarantee payments to auto suppliers in 2009.

The big increase is a reflection of the sharp decline in the value of GM’s share price.

The current estimate of losses is based on GM’s Sept. 30 closing price of $20.18, down one-third over the previous quarterly price.

GM’s stock closed Monday at $22.99, up 2 percent. The government won’t reassess the estimate of the costs until Dec. 30.

The government has recovered $23.2 billion of its $49.5 billion GM bailout, and cut its stake in the company from 61 percent to 26.5 percent. But it has been forced to put on hold the sale of its remaining 500 million shares of stock.

No. The interest did not change. The reason my payments are going down is because I went from a graduated rate to a standard rate. The banks slipped in the graduated rate without me paying attention which is a trick they do to unsuspecting clients. So my payments started out low and went up every two years. Being a student loan, I was not allowed to refinance it and get better terms. So my payments started out at $153/month on a 30 year loan and would have ended with $900/month at the end of the loan. Obama allowed me to refinance so now I have one flat payment of $400/month. This is a win-win-win.

Win: for the bank. They get their cash right now as the government buys the loan from them.

Win: for taxpayers as they will receive all interest dollars that would have went to the bank.

Win: for me as I get one flat payment instead of paying on a graduated scale.

No one suggests that it didn't cost taxpayers money to bail out the auto industry. I think many would agree that Obama was pressured by the auto unions to do it has they ended up being beneficiaries of the bail out.

All of that being true doesn't change the fact that if the auto industry had went bankrupt, many of those jobs would have went overseas and never came back. Most certainly the economy would have been worse off. Bailing out the auto companies certainly saved more jobs that Obama's stimulus plan did. Auto companies failing would have had ripple effects. Companies that manufacture and supply parts would have also failed. Trucking companies that transport parts would have failed. Many local businesses like restaurants, dry cleaners, convenience stores, mechanic shops and the like would have failed. All those massive failures would have even been felt in by major national companies like the airlines, Federal Express and other support services. Ford pulled through. GM and Chrysler would not have.

What a trick' date='Shane doesn't pay attention to business and again it is someone else's fault.

If you were as efficient financially as you have professed you could have taken care of your problem in a relatively painless way.Anytime you take out a loan of any kind and pay only the minimum it costs you a great deal of money.A mere 25.00? extra a month reducing the principal should have had you in good shape. That is what we did with our home mortgage and shaved many years off our mortgage paying it off in our mid forties.Try it,it works well and you wouldn't have to worry about people tricking you.

I am assuming you knew that when you took out the loan.If you didn't you certainly should have with a college education.

For you of course, not the taxpayer.

Obama takes the right to rewrite the terms of the loan you agreed to.Not sure I would want to sign a contract with you if you could find a way to rewrite the agreed upon terms. They get their principal back without interest, interest is why they gave you the loan in the first place. The government did not buy your loan from the bank. The taxpayer did.The government cannot buy anything independent of the taxpayer they take from

No,what they will receive is government spending that money on more "entitlements"

Anytime someone takes the authority to release a party from terms he gave his word on and transfer that agreement to another party, they have overstepped their bounds.

Yes, Obama done good for those that want to be released from their legal contract.Whether it works for you or not, interest has been reduced by 5%,that is another win for those that are looking for others to help pay their way.

What a trick,Shane doesn't pay attention to business and again it is someone else's fault.

I was a young kid in college with no father and no guidance. I didn't even choose the payment plan. The bank had all the paper work filled out the way they wanted it. They took advantage of a kid that didn't know any better. That is what they do. They look for desperate and gullible people so they can take advantage of them. No one sat me down and explained different options I had available. I signed for the loans before I even graduated college.

What Obama did was good. He corrected an injustice and the fact that you cannot admit that shows your true colors. Your opinion is worthless. If you had any integrity you could admit that Obama isn't all bad and that he has done some good things. But you can't do that. I can. I can give him credit when credit is due.

They get their principal back without interest

My student loans allowed for buy-out. I have been paying on them for 12 years already and have hardly paid a dime on the interest. The bank has gotten plenty of interest. The tax-payers buying my loan from my bank is not a bad thing for the bank. It gives them cash now they can turn around and invest immediately. Banks buy and sell loans everyday. There are no losers in this deal. It is a win-win-win.

Obama done good!

Just admit it. You will feel better.

Bottom line is you are still blaming someone else.

Compassionless and cold. Banks take advantage of the gullible, ignorant, old and desperate and cold-hearted, calloused people justify it. They should hang their head down in shame.

After college and paying on this loan you were unable to see the amount of interest you were paying? Happens all the time. When I sat down and took a good look at where my mortgage payment was going

There you go again pretending to know something about something you know nothing about. If my student loans were like a home mortgage I could have refinanced them as soon as I realized how baddy they had taken advantage of me. While I was allowed to buy-out my loan, I could not refinance it. I was stuck until President Obama changed things. Now I will be able to afford to send my kids to the academy. Many kids give their hearts to Jesus while at the academy.

Perhaps they are.True of a lot of people in all walks of life as well.So what, that is life, deal with it.

The sins or lack of others is not something you will ever be accountable for. Some do expect all obstacles to be removed from their path as they go.

You are only accountable for what you do.The day will come when "many accusers" will hang their heads in shame as well.
