Q.E.D. Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Also since I am fairly sure BibleOnly has never read EGW the letters GC would not mean a lot. Tis only fair to be clear to that person where you are quoting from. Quote Satanic Verses-Salman Rushdie.
Woody Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Quote: "Why not throw out EGW stuff at a non Adventist?". WHY? Because our prophet herself instructed us NOT to. If one respects her and accepts her counsel - then you should not do this. She also stated we should not do things because Mrs.White says this or Mrs. White says that. It would be a worthless religion if we did that. No. She even states that she should not be quoted from the pulpit. So - now you know - Go forth and bless others with the Bible and the Bible ONLY. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Q.E.D. Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Well. I hate to burst the bubble but no. I was not 100% sure Quote Satanic Verses-Salman Rushdie.

Methinks if BibleOnly wanted to know where the quote was from they would be man enough to ask straight out without the aid of the "Source Quote Police" here. I was not trying to hide the source of the quote in case you were thinking that, otherwise I would have left of the "GC" and then a few like BibleOnly MIGHT have thought it was my opinion. "Tis only fair"??? What do you think this is? A game of volley ball? Originally Posted By: EmptyCross People could say it is just EGW's opinion just as much as they could say it was your opinion. OK you win. Game match point. I was actually trying to suggest a way you could get your point across in a more effective manner. Sorry. I have to say however its nice to see you actually posting your own thoughts rather than quotes from different sources. Good on ya. Quote
BobRyan Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Jesus died before AD 34, however John wrote about it well after AD 34. If John believed as you do about the nation being rejected in AD 34, why would he go out of his way to point out Caiaphas made a true prediction about Jesus dying for the nation, if that nation was already no longer relevant at the time of the writing? When he wrote (after AD 34) John still believed that the nation was significant in the regathering prophesied by the Old Testament prophets. John had no need to lie about what the high priest said and also had no need to pretend that the nation of Israel was already ended before the cross. I don't see how your argument above holds up. Jesus' death was given to save not only the nation -- but all of mankind, the whole world. Overaged Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Depending on the context, GC can also mean "General Conference of Seventh Day Adventists". It could also mean "Gone Camping" or "Gone Crazy" Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." BibleOnly Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 "...the second she is used to bolster a point,..." She is a profound author, a serious student of the bible, she has excellent counsel to offer on many and varied subjects. *sigh* naturally, I do read books apart from the bible. The answer to the question 'how much study have I done' is really irrelevant, but it's not the answer you imply. Nevertheless, you SHOULD think 'who is this person', when you read me or EW, or anyone else. you should never assume that anyone can trump the Bible and always refer to scripture as your primary source. whatisthis Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 We were ALL predestined to be saved. Our Savior made the plan for us. ALL we have to do is accept it. Well, I don't know how to use these posting icons but this is great, Woody, and I'd like to give you a thumbs up! The controversy is that there are all kinds of earthly plans to take away this hope from us. We get to trust in the dark, when we can't see. What a gift to give God. It doesn't make me a pawn to get to trust in HIM, it means I get to do this wonderful thing by His grace and because I can see only His love shines in this dark world, and when the darkness is gone, the love will stand, still. Quote more later
BibleOnly Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 I really don't need any suggestions at all in getting my "point across in a more effective manner". I beg to differ Quote

ClubV12 Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Woody says, "We were ALL predestined to be saved." Talk about not being able to get your point across.... Some will without a doubt take that to confirm their theology of predestination and theres not a thing you can do to change it. Some will see the "accept it" part and understand that most folks WON'T accept it because they will decided it's to hard to follow God. That "sin" in inevitable and there lost, no matter what. The more I read that statement, the more confusing it becomes. Whatever anyone THINKS it means, know this: We each need to WORK OUT our own salvation with fear and trembling. There IS a heaven to win and a hell to loose, and "predistination" is just another lie. Quote
