Gustave Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 It was commented to me on another topic that the going green movements we see developing everywhere are "spiritual idolatry." I would like to hear from both sides on this. Do you agree? Disagree? Why? I have not got an opinion yet on this except to say I think the idea sounds a little far-fetched. But I am open to correction on that. It's historical DNA is absolutely Satanic - it is part of the system of Bayblon... ...I'm not talking about people not dumping waste in water. ...People, that's NOT what "Green" is all about - it goes much deeper. I would urge anyone here to find an error in the following report. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=uMFAhW_ZmV8 Thanks for watching. Quote

Gustave Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 The Green Movement IS "spiritual idolatry" - it's three separate fully identified groups... ...Working to push their respective agendas that dove-tail perfectly together. ...When one looks at their Ultimate Charter and realizes that HITLER used their exact talking points. ...To waste the Jews it becomes very clear what's going on. doug yowell Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 The Green Dragon...... Ya know, that video reek, just reeks, of a bunch of money hungery, power mad, zealots that have found a way to exagerate the downfall of their counterparts. Yes there are enviromental extremists. Just as there are Christian extremists, Muslim extremists, political extremists etc. But they are, almost without fail the minority. Quote: malevolent pagan innerworkings of the environmentalist movement You sir, obviously know zip about the pagan community. I have yet to meet one single pagan that puts enviromental concerns over human life. I am sure there are some out there, but they most certainly do NOT represent the community in all it variations as a whole. The fact that environmental extremists are a minority (which should be self-evident)does not argue against the disproportionate influence that they have on the policies and thinking of either the government or the public perception of the issue. 2% (at best)of the population is non-heterosexual but has managed to convince a large portion of the country to believe that they are normal. Radical environmental beliefs result in radical and self destructive environmental policies. ANWR drilling is prohibited, oil pipelines are nixed on one hand in the name of "the environment" while thousands of jobs, millions of $'s saved in energy costs are lost. These "no matter what" beliefs can easily be equated with the moral convictions of the religious. The underlying belief that man is about to destroy the earth because of his misuse of it's limited natural resources is no different than the belief that man's moral degradition is the real cause of this earth's demise. Quote
M. T. Cross Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Doug I am not saying at all that extremists are not dangerous. I am as enviromentally concious as I can possibly be. There are solutions to help reduce or even do away with problems such as emmisions, deforestation, energy usage etc. But I know they will and can not happen overnight. I agree that we have to take into account the millions of jobs dependant on these industries. It is insane to think we should just do away with them and leave families without incomes. But the hypocrisy and witch hunting I am seeing from some in this thread is just as disturbing as any other extremists. The attitude of "its bad cause there are pagans involved" the videos where prosperity and wealth are amongst the first thing brought up in the argument against the Green movement. There has been a great deal of damage dealt by Christian extremists over the years too, and I find those arguing the loudest against this movement to be of that type of mindset. In the end I don't think we should put the planet above ourselves. Nor do I think we should put ourselves above taking care of our home. Balance is the key, and doing what can be done to begin reversing some of the damage we have done, in a reasonable manner. Quote

Thank you EC. The operative word here is "reasonable" I am licensed by the Dept of Environmental Quality, as is my daughter. I can truthfully say that there is a lot being done, but responsible positive change takes time and a whole lot of money! The hypocrisy and witch hunting by 'christianity' is one of the reasons for it, organized religion, being looked at with a frown. It reminds me of a text in the Bible...'many will come in my name', which certain persons of christians persuasion like to throw at others who disagree with them and a closed mind disease sets in. doug yowell Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 The fact that you specifically target "christianity" as the witchhunter demonstrates who's really doing the witchhunting here. When conservatives and scientists of all persuasions, Jews, Christians, atheists, agnostics, all reach the same conclusions about the fanaticism of the green movement leadership, and all agree that the philosophy that they employ to reach their goals are akin to a religious dogma, then how does this make Christianity the bad guy? Conservative talk show host Dennis Prager, a practicing Jew,has made this very same point for over 20 years!! Mark Steyn, the conservative agnostic, arrives at the same conclusion. Witchhunt? Hypocrisy? Who exactly on this thread qualifies,CoA? Have you ever read the political platform of the Green Party? Do they get your vote for open mindedness? Quote
doug yowell Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 The attitude of "its bad cause there are pagans involved" the videos where prosperity and wealth are amongst the first thing brought up in the argument against the Green movement. Pagans are involved in everything in this life so that's not what the complaint here. Somebody correct me if I misrepresent them but involvment is not the issue, it's the philosophy that leads to so many of the fundamentally flawed excesses that is the focus here. Where do they come from? Certainly not from a balanced Christian perspective. When Green leaders like Al Gore make doomsday predictions about man made global warning, and so many of the leaders of the movement make "save our earth" allusions, it's hard not to see that as a secular version of apocolyptic fervor. And,coincidently, IS directly contrary to what the Bible has taught for the past 3000+ years. Quote
Gibs Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Well the world was fairly pristine 300 years ago and in the USA and Canada and Alaska and a few other places down to 50 to 200 yrs. ago. It has been the last generations that have been the destroyers of the earth, polluting land, air water and genetic engineering, GMO junk. So now we are at this time, Re 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
CoAspen Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 ...flawed excesses... Christianity has many of those also! So do we advocate getting rid of it? No, Christians get quit indignant when those 'excesses' in philosopy are pointed out. Quote: When Green leaders like Al Gore make doomsday predictions about man made global warning, and so many of the leaders of the movement make "save our earth" allusions, it's hard not to see that as a secular version of apocolyptic fervor. But as for doomsday predictions, religion has always been into that as a 'persuader', even on this forum. Is man destroying the earth, yes, are we to protect it, yes, both Biblical. Christianity does itself no favor by looking for the negative, in what ever it expounds on. AS has been pointed out, anything that comes between a person and their relationship with God is considered 'idolatry'. Can I judge enviromentalism as being 'pagan'? Nope!! Quote
