I guess we disagree on this. Apparently Romans chapter five has no Truth for you in this regard.

Miz3, What is it in Romans 5 that you think is true? NONE of it is truth. No one can be justified by faith as their faith can cause them to believe in lies without feeling guilty for not seeking and practicing the truth.

Verse 6 and 12 and 13 is totally a lie! The common law has no beginning and no end--as it is God's law. Satan knew what these laws were about long before Adam failed to obey.

Verses 8&9 is also a total lie! Christ NEVER died for those who are sinners, His death made it possible for those who practice the truth to overcome sin!

So why is it that people refuse to follow Jesus? He said His yoke is easy didn't He? He never said that there isn't any yoke at all!

Quote:
And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brothers! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Matt 12:49,50

You must be kidding! Jesus did NOT say anthing at all about adoption, your ASSUMPTION just got you into trouble again! Jesus said that you MUST be BORN again of the Holy Spirit, and to do that you MUST DO the will of the Father, which are the words of Jesus. Do NOT twist the words of Jesus my friend!

You're the one twisting scripture my friend. You are adding words that don't go there. You can't do the will of the Father without the Holy Spirit, but of course you wouldn't know that.

To find out how much you can do on your own, without God's help, look up John 15:5

If you do the will of the Father, and it causes you to become the brother or sister of Jesus, then what is that, if not adoption? Just because Jesus didn't use that particular word doesn't change the fact that what He described is the same thing as adoption. Look up the definition! You can quibble over semantics all you want, but it doesn't change anything.

What do you think needs to happen in order for you to be able to understand plain scripture? (I know the answer)

Also Jesus said "and mother". How does that fit into your strange theory that the Holy Spirit is a woman, and Jesus' real mother? In fact the only time ANY scripture refers to Jesus' mother is when it is referring to Mary, or when Jesus used it in this text that we're talking about.

All through the gospels Jesus talked about His Father. My Father this, my Father that. Father, Father, Father. Not once does he mention that the HS is his mother. In fact the only time he uses the word mother at all, referring to himself, is in this text.

The Holy Spirit is responsible for doing many wonderful things, both in the past, and in the future. But not once does Jesus say, "My Mother, the Holy Spirit, did/does such and such". Why do you think that is? You'd think that He would at least once, mention "HER". If for no other reason than to let us know that's who she is, instead of us having to hear it ONLY from YOU!

Excellent points RLH. We'd rather see exact words than actually understand what the passage is saying. I definitely agree that we are adopted into the family.

Good luck with that PK and RLH. I will stick with the words found in Rev. 12:17. I would much rather be with that group as a child of God the Mother, the Woman of Rev. 12.

Thanks for the "good luck" Dr Rich, but I wont be needing it, I have the words of the whole Bible to give me what I need.

My text book is the same one that my Teacher used so I will keep using that AND the words of my Teacher. (Matt. 23:8-10)

If you only understood Rev 12:17. Now THAT would be progress!

God the Mother.. reyes

That phrase is nowhere to be found in scripture my poor confused, misled friend. Neither is the idea that the HS is a woman.

Who else could the Woman of Rev. 12 be IF not the Holy Spirit? Mary was never in heaven. Neither was the 'church' and the church can't give birth to itself. Jesus said one MUST be born of the Holy Spirit to enter the KOH, so this woman can only be the Holy Spirit. And just who is 'it' that gives birth--A MOTHER!

There are two symbolic women in Revelation – one is the harlot Babylon and the other is the woman of Rev. 12.

Both women are identified as Jerusalem. If you read thru the symbology of the old testament – Jerusalem was often compared to the beautiful woman when she was faithful to God and a whore or harlot when she fell into idolatry. Isa. 54, Jer. 3, Eze. 16, Hos. 2.

Paul also has a good verse that identifies Jerusalem as our mother – ‘But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.’ Gal 4:26. Do you believe what Paul has to say?

So the woman of Rev. 12 is spiritual Jerusalem who brings forth the two anointed ones (both are caught up to heaven) and finally the 144K (which keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus).

Babylon of Rev. 17 is the great city that Satan will establish when he comes in the last days and guess what – it’s going to be in Jerusalem. Gustave had an excellent thread a while back showing that Babylon is identified as Jerusalem – ‘why the Catholic is not the great whore of babylon’.

Cheddar, while I appreaciate your effort, Revelation does not support either of your theories. Rev. 12 is an outline of the spiritual world from the beginning to the end. ONLY the Holy Spirit was in Heaven as Jerusalem was NEVER in heaven (see verse one).

There is a big difference between the woman in scarlet and the Holy Spirit. Also notice the woman in Gen 3:15 is NOT Eve, but the Holy Spirit as this war is a war fought over truth vs. lies (see verse 17). The 'male child' was Jesus as the real Mother of Jesus is the Holy Spirit--the same Mother who gives birth to those truely born again--not the same as what Paul preached.
