Robert Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I'm glad you now believe Christ came to save humanity not from the lake of fire which is the 2nd death. The 2nd death is where God abandons the sinner because he "has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace" (Heb 10:29) In other words the 2nd death is goodbye to life forever. No hope of a resurrection. Quote
Samie Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Gerry; I highlighted IN RED below a distortion of the gospel introduced by translators of almost all 19th century editions of the Bible, a distortion swallowed hook, line and sinker, albeit unknowingly, by many. ...Ro 3:21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. ‎‎22 This righteousness from God comes through faith IN Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference,23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Man is a sinner. Not only that, he will forever be falling short of God's righteousness IN THIS LIFE. The ONLY way he can attain to righteousness is to receive the gift of righteousness that is from God by faith. Quote
Moderators Gerr Posted June 5, 2012 Moderators Posted June 5, 2012 So, Samie, how do you receive the righteousness from God? How do you come into possession of the "faith OF Jesus?" Quote

Moderators Gerr Posted June 6, 2012 Moderators Posted June 6, 2012 IOW, you receive the righteousness of God and the faith of Jesus by/through faith, i.e. trusting that God will do what He promised? Quote
Samie Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 IOW, you receive the righteousness of God and the faith of Jesus by/through faith, i.e. trusting that God will do what He promised? On the cross God fashioned humanity into the body of His Son (Eph 2:11-19). The fact that man is part of the body of Christ automatically makes available to the body the faith of the Head. It is not man's receiving, it is God's fashioning humanity into the body of His Son. Because faith is needed to trust God, the fact that a man can trust God is proof enough he has faith. Faith is already present prior to trusting or believing. Quote

Are you saying ALL men are part of the body of Christ? Quote
skyblue888 Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 IOW, you receive the righteousness of God and the faith of Jesus by/through faith, i.e. trusting that God will do what He promised? Yes. "Being fully persuaded that what He has promised He is able also to perform." Rom.4:21. "The law of ten precepts of the greatest love ever presented to man is the voice of God from Heaven speaking to the soul in promise." E.G. White, B.C. Vol.1,1105. Notice here that she is speaking of the law, not written mererly, but proceeding out of the mouth of God. In Vol.1 of the Testimonies, p.361, she is speaking of the ten commandments, as spoken by Christ at Sinai and says: "There is power in them to bring into subjection and to enforce obedience." Accepted by the will, received into the soul as the voice of God from Heaven, the ten commandments are exceedingly great and precious promises by which we may become partakers of the divine nature and thus we may become "more than conquerors" (Rom.8:37) over all our inherited and cultivated tendencies to evil and be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ until the full corn of His character is in the ear. Then He will come again to take His people home. Mark 4:26-29. sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
Samie Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 ... Are you saying ALL men are part of the body of Christ? On the cross, God fashioned humanity into the body of His Son (see Eph 2:11-19). Unless removed from being part of His body, a person remains part of the body of Christ. Detaching from the body of Christ is done by the Savior Himself, when a person's name is blotted out from the book of life. The Savior assures all overcomers will not be blotted out from the book of life (Rev 3:5). It is only when a man dies that judgment is meted out whether to blot his name or not from the book of life (Heb 9:27). Quote

Woody Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 This website is over run by wicked men. That would be technically true - as we all are wicked peoples and fall short of the Glory of God. (Yes Gibs - we fall SHORT of God's Glory not equal to it. ) Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology. Â
Gibs Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Woody we all sure do fall short of the glory of God and is not possible of the clay to be as great as the potter. That however is not the theme of what I press to get across. Overcomers is the theme. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
skyblue888 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 "Are you in Christ? Not if you do not acknowledge yourselves erring, helpless, condemned sinners." E.G White, 1893 General Conference Bulletin, p.178. This sounds like it is contradicting Rom.8:1 which says that "There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." But it is no contradiction at all, only an apparent one. Only those who, at all times, confess themselves erring, helpless, condemned sinners, are in Christ. And yet these are "more than conquerors." Rom.8:37. sky :) Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
