Umfundize Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 People are not judged according to how good or bad their "background" is. The BIBLE says JESUS and HE ALONE is the truth and the life and NO ONE comes to God except through HIM. So you believe there are other "ways" to get saved? No, THAT is what the Earthly Millennium is for. People will then be JUDGED according to their reaction to the gospel. Forget about the E G White story about "the vindication of God's character". Is God accountable to His creatures? Must He defend Himself before SATAN? That is ABSURD and only EGW schemed this out as part of the excuse for Miller's failed prediction in which she also believed! Let's be honest about it Gail. Take your time and read SLOWLY through Adventist Alternative with your BIBLE next to you and CHECK up on everything. Thousands of ministers and members are doing that every day...and ARE SET FREE! Quote
Administrators Gail Posted July 17, 2012 Administrators Posted July 17, 2012 People are not judged according to how good or bad their "background" is. I didn't say that. I said that God takes into account where a person comes from. He KNOWS the circumstances that have shaped the heart. A man raised in paganism may be seeking the true God, a woman victimized by incest may result in her becoming a harlot. Quote: Forget about the E G White story about "the vindication of God's character". Is God accountable to His creatures? Must He defend Himself before SATAN? That is ABSURD and only EGW schemed this out as part of the excuse for Miller's failed prediction in which she also believed! I LIKE that explanation! Even though God is not accountable to His creatures (He doesn't HAVE to prove anything), it would be a loving gesture to show the redeemed the reasons for the outcome. I also loved my study of the sanctuary. If anything it did 2 things for me: 1) I saw Jesus all through it, and 2) I saw sanctuary language all through the Bible. It gave me an even higher love for God and for my Redeemer. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Umfundize Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 There is no question that the OT Sanctuary teaches a wonderful message: it is a kindergarten-level effort to explain in simple terms what Jesus would do for sinners. Most Christian churches teach the Sanctuary-message. The problem with the SDA version of "THE SANCTUARY MESSAGE" is that it introduces heresy by calling it an "Investigative Judgment" that commenced on Oct 22.1844. It involves the judgment of sinner's WORKS as playing a meritorial role in salvation history. So much so, that it is regarded as the "Central Pillar of Adventist Faith". And THAT is wrong. Quote

Overaged Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I believe in the Investigative Judgment. The nonsence you just discribed is not what I believe. It makes a lot of sense to a lot of people and to them it is not "nonsense." Umfundize has agreed with us that "There is no question that the OT Sanctuary teaches a wonderful message:" and I say praise the Lord that we have this in common. Tell us Kevin; just how is the "Investigative Judgment;" a "wonderful message?" Let's build on what we have in common with our friend.
