Read what the person Washington post and huffington post had to say about this.

http://spectrummagazine.org/blog/2012/10...-women-mistakes

That is a spectrum link.

Probably better to go to an actual news source -

I have heard many students in our universities say they do not want to be part of a church that is biased aginst women to be ordained simply out of bias and have NO scriptural backing for their position.

This story was also published by the Huffington Post. The wording of the vote is not the best PR for the Silver Spring, Maryland-based leaders, especially in light of their plans to hold a massive evangelism campaign in major cosmopolitan centers.

It is precisely because both sides seem to have scriptural backing that we have problems, otherwise there would be no arguments.

Hey PH,

OK, I concede your point - Each person has their walk with their Lord and Savior and are all at different places with that walk. My thought here is that Woody tends to bring me back to earth when I go off the deep end.

Could the same thing be said about people's feelings towards WO? Indeed, people strongly disagree with each other over this issue. Some go off the deep end, with threats of violence against those who disagree with them. They need to be brought back to earth. I'm all for WO. My church has a female pastor who is totally amazing - a truly anointed person. I find no biblical evidence for or against WO; therefore (to me, at least), it is a matter of preference. IMO if a person doesn't appreciate the attributes of a woman pastor, they shouldn't go to her church. To me, it is not an issue of church unity; it is a matter of church uniformity. The GC is not the head of the church - Christ is (Eph. 5:23).

The God who is speaking through you or me?

I repeat.....> I trust in God, and that means His people will preserve, not always in unity of opinions and interpretations, but in the Goal of eternal life.<

Your question is a human one, who is right and who is wrong? Only time will tell and I am comfortable that God will be the decider, not humans thankfully!

Why are humans so concerned with WHO is right or wrong?

It's the wrong question to ask which side God is on. Better we ask ourselves if we are on God's side.

But, as I have said before, the Holy Spirit is working on both sides of this very human debate. Keeping this issue before us to solve is important. To not do anything is worse than doing the wrong thing. And we have been in a do nothing about it mode for far too long.

"Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

*Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth.

(And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

We have actually been doing it right for many decades - it is the liberals who are clamoring for change so we can be more fully aligned with western "culture."

The Apostolic church of the New Testament was inaugurated by the Son of God and motivated by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is to this era that all Christians look for their example—when truth lived in the hearts of believers. This was the Golden Age of the church.

It should not be taken to imply that there was ever a time of “perfection” in the church, yet the faith and practice of the Apostolic church that Jesus started was on the right course historically and dynamically. It is the standard by which the church in all historical periods is to be measured.

This Apostolic era is the setting in which the much-maligned Paul wrote his instructions to the Church regarding the selection of male elders. The language is clear and specific.

Sure seems to blow a huge hole in the logic that WO is about alignment with Western culture.

What does this scripture mean?

"for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, NOR IS THERE MALE OR FEMALE, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise." (Gal. 3:27-29)

I dunno, it kinda tells me that we are all equal whether pastors evangelists, lay people, or whatever. Just my thought...

Tis interesting that in reading through out all of the postings on WO, that the anti group put so much time into quoting EGW who was a spiritual leader of the church, preached and taught, yet some would deny women of today the same leadijng by the H*S. They will say, "but she didn't rule over or she wasn't ordained", doubtful, as if that is of significance! What is a leader? Why is she still the 'go to' person when there is theological doubt on some issue if she is not considered an authority or leader? Are men and some women of today saying God has left women out of this role when obviously He put EGW into that role?

I like what TW keeps saying, It is not about if God is on our side but are we on God's side?

We keep circling back to the same questions and suppositions with out answers to that, so once again I need to step out of all the back and forth!

Carry on!!!!

Sorry Olger - that's in error of what Ellen White actually said. Here is what she actually stated: 'a lie will go around the world while truth is putting on his boots.' 1 T 463

Please do not pass on erroneous quotes. LOL

What did I miss ... I did not see where Olger's post was a quote of Sis White's.

Woody, it's not knowing the difference in pants and boots that is in question ... the question is whether it was written as a direct quote or just as a statement. Moreover, I am aware of Sis. White's quote, however have also heard many secular (perhaps) people make the statement as was used in this post.

Why be on the attack when there is no reason to argue or attack?
