HopefulOne Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 The interests of the cause of present truth demand that those who profess to stand on the Lord's side shall bring into exercise all their powers to vindicate the advent message, the most important message that will ever come to the world. For those who stand as representatives of present truth to use time and energy now in attempting to answer the questions of the doubting ones, will be an unwise use of their time....It will not remove the doubts. The burden of our work now is not to labor for those who, although they have had abundant light and evidence, still continue on the unbelieving side. God bids us give our time and strength to the work of preaching to the people the messages that stirred men and women in 1843 and 1844. {MR760 30.1} Quote Sunday, a child of the Papacy, has taken the place of God's holy Sabbath. As Nebuchadnezzar made a golden image, and set it up to be worshiped by all, so Sunday is placed before the people to be regarded as sacred. This day bears not a vestige of sanctity, yet it is held up to be honored by all. {RH, April 27, 1911 par. 6}
Gibs Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 The True Gospel of salvation, saved of your past sins and saved from committing sin. Sin has no remedy and at repentance your sin is covered with His imputed righeousness. His merits if you will, we have no merits to present. Then Christ in you and you can be a victor over committing sin as He showed us taking our place from where we are and He in us is the same power He had. We can do it, know it, have that wonderful faith that will revove the mountain of doubt that it cannot be done! 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Blessings, Ted, I'm a little confused by your first sentence. Could you explain what you mean by that a little further? Sure. The Son of God has vilified in every way possible since the Great Controversy began. The fallen one now called Satan has heaped upon the Son of God every conceivable evil trait imaginable. He then created such sinful conditions in the Old Testament times which required God to take extraordinary measures to keep the plan of salvation on track - and Satan has successfully turned them into the "wrathful, severe God" which needs to be appeased to be approached. After the cross, Satan successfully subverted the church as he did Israel/Judah, and again has portrayed Christ in Satan's own character through false doctrines and false Christians. That all said, Daniel 7 & 8 both point to the time when Christ is vindicated. Christ's people will be vindicated. The books are opened; the evidence is reviewed. Judgment is made in favor of our Redeemer (Daniel 7:13, 14)...and the saints (21, 27). Remember - persecution in full bloom necessarily involves character assassination. I see your point of view now. I've always seen it, your sentence about Christ and His people being vindicated, from a slightly different perspective. The main argument Satan has always made against God is that He is the one that is selfish, and because of that God's law cannot be kept. Thus, during the time of trouble when the righteous live without a mediator and do not sin, his lie is shown to be completely false. Thus both Christ and God are vindicated by His people living God's law here on earth, and living it through extremely trying circumstances. Gibs Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 The time is at hand, get ready, get ready! "Says the prophet: “Who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers’ soap; and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.” [Malachi 3:2, 3.] Those who are living upon the earth when the intercession of Christ shall cease in the sanctuary above, are to stand in the sight of a holy God without a mediator. Their robes must be spotless, their characters must be purified from sin by the blood of sprinkling. Through the grace of God and their own diligent effort, they must be conquerors in the battle with evil. While the investigative Judgment is going forward in Heaven, while the sins of penitent believers are being removed from the sanctuary, there is to be a special work of purification, of putting away of sin, among God's people upon earth. This work is more clearly presented in the messages of Revelation 14. {GC88 425.1} When this work shall have been accomplished, the followers of Christ will be ready for his appearing. “Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years.” [Malachi 3:4.] Then the church which our Lord at his coming is to receive to himself will be “a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing.” [Ephesians 5:27.] Then she will look forth “as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners.” [song of Solomon 6:10.] {GC88 425.2} 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Gibs Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 All of the 1 Johns are very good council and I love 1 John 3: very much, it gets to the core of it! On getting ready dear folks it is high time we got very serious. I want to point out a prophecy to you. Re 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. Ok,now we know the deadly wound was inflicted in 1798 and so now notice verse 3 above it is finally healed. So it is quite some time after 1798 that will happen and may just be happening. Now notice the next verses, that now that it is healed the beast is given 42 mos to continue, period, that is it!. Re 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? Re 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. ( THAT IS TO MAKE WAR ) OK, now what most don't notice is the fact these 42 months have to be literal time as it is way past 1844 the longest reaching prophetic time reckoning, yr for a day! This is even not occourred yet, it does when Martyrdom occours again without recompense as before the wound put a stop to Martydom. Is Martydom beginning in some places again? I am not sure it is with the true ones of God is all. But what does this tell you? It tells me we are close, very close to the finish line. No, no exact time can be had as it will be hard to pinpoint the time true Martyrdom of the Saints begins again. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. HopefulOne Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I saw that many were neglecting the preparation so needful, and were looking to the time of the “refreshing” and “latter rain” to fit them to stand in the day of the Lord, and to live in his sight. O, how many I saw in the time of trouble without a shelter! They had neglected the needful preparation, therefore they could not receive the refreshing that all must have to fit them to live in the sight of a holy God. Those who refuse to be hewed by the prophets, and do not purify their souls in obeying the whole truth, and are willing to believe that their condition is far better than it really is, will come up to the time of the falling of the plagues, and then see that they needed to be hewed and squared for the building... {ExV 58.3} Quote Sunday, a child of the Papacy, has taken the place of God's holy Sabbath. Johnnboy Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 We really appreciate all the good quotes from the Spirit of Prophecy that have been posted. The most important message that can be given is the message of God's love through His plan of salvation. The old sanctuary system given to Moses has the details of the plan in process in the Heavenly sanctuary at this time. The ceremonies of the old sanctuary really were prophecies of the events in the plan of salvation and these give an anchor point to all the prophecies of Daniel and the Revelation. Jesus always began His teaching on every point, including prophecy, by beginning at Moses, and then the other prophets. Of necessity, we must begin at the same point or we cannot give the other prophecies their true placement in time as they relate to future events. Quote
