"Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die."

"The office of a messenger whom God has chosen to send with reproofs and warnings, is strangely misunderstood at the present time. When reproof is given, the church members feel humiliated, as their real situation is revealed to them, which they were not able to discern. God in mercy sent them warnings and reproof because he loved them. He says, 'As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous therefore and repent' (Revelation 3:19). Those who need reproof bring sorrow and grief upon the soul of him who must correct their errors; but though his message be painful to him, he dare not neglect his work. Those who deserve reproofs feel hurt under personal admonition. Pride is wounded, and Satan suggests that their mistakes and errors will be reported to others, and remarks will be made in reference to their mistaken course of action. It would be well for these individuals to realize that their defects are manifest to all, and the world measures them by that which they do. Not only this world beholds their course, but they are a spectacle to the angels of heaven. The heavenly host are looking upon every man, woman, and child, and they see the defects of their characters. Reminds me of 1John 3, Romans 6, Malachi 3:1-6, Titus 2, Romans 2:6-16 etc.

A lot of the Bible reads that way.

The first 6 verses of 1John 2 read like Rev 14:12.

e.white was, and given this terrible agonizing burden of giving reproof. and there are books and books of her's giving reproofs and talking about the reactions of those so reproved. this office no human being would ever choose to do. those who feel free to "reprove" and feel important doing it, have no clue what they are doing.

Isaiah was another prophet who reproved god's people, and he identified with the sin's of God's people and felt them as if they were his own. now that is the right Spirit, and that is as e. white describes she felt.

she very very seldom would write reproving more then once and never write over and over daily laying into someone.

these were written down so that people can now read and take to heart whatever reproof they may be able to benefit from from what has already been written. we can now go to what she wrote and receive the full benefit from it as we choose to.

what i learned the most from what she wrote was a realization of how vulnerable we all are to error, and to be much more humble.

each individual she reproved was generally just once, and it was the voice of love and mercy in Jesus that e. white spoke in. she suffered much, and much more then those she reproved.

now if you have open public adultery going on, and a church elder on meth, or a member child molester that everyone is protecting... and the church is ignoring it. Then we have a problem Houston.

someone would need to speak up.

God disciplines his own directly. Hebrews 12, "God disciples those he loves."

"endure hardship as discipline, God is treating you as son's"

know anyone who does not have hardship in their lives?
