(Obviously) not generalising to all Christians or all porn addicts or even all Christian porn addicts, but just noting that the *fact* that desire is considered sinful can in itself contribute to the development of an addiction, since it enhances the emotional roller coaster experienced by the addict. Acting on "desire" for someone not your spouse is still sinful in my world. Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. Healthier attitude to sexuality is healthier. Well thats just it. You can't generalize all porn addicts. The guy wanting the violent movies obviously has some serious issues as well, but the root of that is from a whole different plant so to speak. The greasy little creepy men are usually just guys that have been lonely far to long and do not have the confidence to ever try and find a real woman. They are even to scared to get a prostitute. But it is the one that is caught in the cycle of I want it, need it, oh man I have sinned and someone has to pay the price for it that is the most concerning to me. Sexual desire is normal. In the right circumstance it is healthy and beautiful. But if one has been taught that it is sinful, that it is dirty and destructive, it can get very confusing for that person. So porn is great outlet for them. They can disappear into this "beautiful" world where sex is celebrated and generally nothing is "bad" or "taboo". But once it is done they come up against that wall of feeling that feeling good is a SIN. In the end though, I think I would rather have all three groups sitting in front of their TV or PC watching porn than stalking down innocent women and sexually assaulting them.

That is probably how a lot of "christians" feel when they are the first or only group singled out as the cause that is what is wrong in the world. I am sure there are as many causes contributing to porn addiction. Of the two that I have known over the years,one was not a "christian" one was of the belief that once saved always saved and generally very liberal in his religious views. It might work as well to blame the lack of a firm (strict)religious belief or a lack of faith in God that contributed to their addiction Everything you do is based on the choices you make.
