Fundamential Questions.

I don't dispute that miracles do happen but the fact is that in a million or billion acts of evil there might be perhaps just 1 or 2 examples of miracles... that is indisputable.

Would you go to a doctor who says that his success rate is 1% or let's make it more 10% of course not yet you would believe in a god that will answer perhaps less then 1% of the time?

Stephen Hawking was suppose to have a life expectancy of 2 years after his disease was discovered yet 40 years later he is sill alive and kicking. By all accounts his gift should be considered a miracle yet he is one of the strongest proponents against the existence of god, why is this so?

To say that god is a mystery is an understatement. In fact the most important person in the bible jesus has almost nothing written about him except excerpts of his childhood and perhaps the last 3-4 years of his life. The bible is rife with stories of lessons, teachings yet little is there to explain the origins of the stories and or situations in context. It seems to give just enough to that one is persuaded to believe yet when we probe deeper, little else is revealed.

In 2Cor 4:4 we are told that Satan is "the god of this world".

In Matt 4 Satan offers to "give Christ the kingdoms of this world" -- he says "the world is mine - I give it to whom I will".

I am not disputing that fact. Christ said at his own trial "My kingdom is not of this world -- if it were then would my servants fight".

Satan says this is not Christ's kingdom.

Christ said this world is not Christ's kingdom.

But in Daniel 7 (and in Rev 11) - we are told of a day when this world DOES become part of Christ's kingdom.

Until then - it makes not sense to blame God for what Satan does in his kingdom of darkness. Better to seek God with the prayer "Thy Kingdom come - Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven".

Each of us must choose to either be a part of the kingdom of darkness or the kingdom of light. There is no middle ground.

The parent that loses a child in this life -- has one shot and one shot only to regain that child - in perfect health at the exact moment that they lost the child. And that is to be prepared to be reunited with that Child at the 2nd coming. If they ALSO choose to blow that option -- then they have no one else to blame for their needless loss.

As my illustrations point out - pretty hard to deny that God exists or that He answers prayers or that undeniable miracles take place. What is left though is for each person to "choose" whether to run with the Lemmings off the cliff at the end of the world or to take the escape of the ark and survive the flood.

Only 8 people chose to survive the flood in the days of Noah.

Popular vote is not a good indicator of the right path for survival when you are among Lemmings.

Now let's go back to my story about that boy that was run down by a drunk driver. Suppose for a second that the child died. Then at the second coming of Christ (which is perceived as a mere instant of time to the child who died) the child is awakened in bodily resurrection and is informed that he has just died and is now in perfect health thanks the resurrection. And then he hears "oh - but we have some bad news for you. Your parents will not be joining you - see they got so mad about your accident that seems to you like just a few seconds ago - that they decided not to spend all of eternity with you".

What grief. What sadness for that child.
