As to the question of whether one can actually see Russia from Alaska, Governor Palin was correct:

I find it interesting that for all the lip service liberals give to women's rights, they sure beat up on Sarah Palin! But then I forget, it only works if you are toeing the party line. Be a person a woman, Black, or any other group, you have no individual freedom, you must walk the party line, or "we have our ways of dealing with you"!

        CLEAR LIGHT
        Mr. Blue Lyrics

Good morning Mister Blue, we've got our eyes on you.
The evidence is clear, that you've been scheming.
You like to steal away and while away the day.
You like to spend an hour dreaming.
What will it take, to whip you into line?
A broken heart? A broken head?
It can be arranged. It can be arranged.

Step softly Mister Blue, we know what's best for you.
We know where your precious dreams will take you.
You've got a slot to fill, and fill that slot you will.
You'll learn to love it, or we'll break you.
Oh, what will it take, to whip you into line?
A broken heart? A broken head?
It can be arranged. It can be arranged.

Be careful Mister Blue this phase you're going through,
Can lead you nowhere else, but to disaster.
Excuse us while we grin, you've worn our patience thin.
It's time to show you who is your master.
What will it take, to whip you into line?
A broken heart? A broken head?
It can be arranged. It can be arranged.

Don't worry Mister Blue, we'll take good care of you.
Just think of it as sense and not surrender.
But never think again, that you can think again,
Or you'll get something you'll remember.
What will it take to whip you into line?
A broken heart? A broken head?
It can be arranged. It can be arranged.

Wasn't it Ross Perot who gave the election to Bill Clinton by drawing off Republican votes from Bush 1? Perot was a buffoon, and so is Trump, although Trump seems to be a little more sophisticated, and probably richer, buffoon.

I'd like to see Trump confronting the Ayatollah, Putin, Kim Jong il, ISIS, and Hillary Clinton. That might make a good reality show, although I never watch those kind of TV programs. If Trump is miraculously elected and the confrontations actually happen, we might expect nuclear war across the globe.

You can add Chris Christy the list.

Donald Trump Escalates War With Lindsey Graham

          by Carrie Dann

Trump Bashes Graham, Reads Senator's Phone Number to Crowd 1:02

Not one to shy away from name-calling, Donald Trump again showed Tuesday what happens when he's on the receiving end of an insult from a rival.

Appearing in the home state of South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, who recently labeled Trump "a jackass," Trump claimed that Graham -- whom he called a "lightweight" and a "stiff" -- had once called him to ask for help secure appearances on FOX News.

Brandishing a piece of paper with a telephone number, Trump added: "So he gave me his number, and I found the card! I wrote the number down!"

"Let's give it a try," he suggested to the crowd, reading the number twice aloud to the audience.

Trump acknowledged that the number was several years old and might no longer be in service but added "I don't know, give it a shot."

A call to the number listed by Trump led to a voicemail recording indicating that Lindsey Graham is unavailable and that his voice mailbox is full. An aide to his campaign confirmed that the number was, in fact, the senator's.

In a statement, Graham campaign manager Christian Ferry said: "Donald Trump continues to show hourly that he is ill-prepared to be commander in chief. The two people most excited about Donald Trump's candidacy are Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Because of Trump's bombastic and ridiculous campaign, we aren't talking about Obama's horrible deal with Iran or Hillary Clinton's plans to continue Obama's failed national security agenda."

Graham also offered a tongue-in-cheek tweet:

          xTAv1FtM_bigger.jpgLindsey GrahamVerified account ‏@LindseyGrahamSC

Probably getting a new phone. iPhone or Android?

Graham, who is also seeking the GOP nomination for president and has served as a senator from South Carolina since 2002, said on CNN Monday that Trump is "becoming a jackass at a time when we need to have a serious debate about the future of the party and the country."

Graham isn't the only Republican contender who earned an insult from Trump in return for criticism.

On Tuesday, Trump also derided former Texas governor and 2016 hopeful Rick Perry, who has likened Trump's brand of politics to "a cancer."

"He put on glasses so people will think he's smart," Trump said of Perry's recent choice in eyewear. "It just doesn't work."

It's time for Donald Trump to drop out of the race for president of the United States.

People who run for public office typically perform a great public service, regardless of whether they win on Election Day. That's particularly true of presidential candidates, most of whom must devote two years of their lives to hard-fought campaigns that involve staggering personal and financial sacrifices, all in an effort to serve their country.

          And then there's Trump.

Donald Trump criticizes the Register for editorial

In the five weeks since he announced his campaign to seek the GOP nomination for president, Trump has been more focused on promoting himself, and his brand, than in addressing the problems facing the nation. If he were merely a self-absorbed, B-list celebrity, his unchecked ego could be tolerated as a source of mild amusement. But he now wants to become president, which means that he aspires to be the leader of the free world and the keeper of our nuclear launch codes.

That is problematic, because Trump, by every indication, seems wholly unqualified to sit in the White House. If he had not already disqualified himself through his attempts to demonize immigrants as rapists and drug dealers, he certainly did so by questioning the war record of John McCain, the Republican senator from Arizona.

Trump: Politicians like McCain 'have totally failed'

McCain is an American hero. During the Vietnam War, he spent more than five years being tortured as a prisoner of war, and he refused early release unless every man captured before him was released as well. Trump, on the other hand, didn't serve in the military, partly because, as he puts it, he was "not a big fan of the Vietnam War." But that didn't stop him from trashing McCain at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames on Saturday.

          USA TODAY

Trump: I don't need to be lectured

"He's not a war hero," Trump sniffed. Amid scattered booing, Trump decided to double-down: "He's a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren't captured."

Then, perhaps sensing the ground was opening up underneath him, Trump tried to back-pedal while continuing to bloviate. "I believe perhaps he is a war hero," he said, "but right now — he said some very bad things about a lot of people."

If Trump, our would-be commander in chief, doesn't like POWs, how does he feel about men and women killed in action?

His comments were not merely offensive, they were disgraceful. So much so, in fact, that they threaten to derail not just his campaign, but the manner in which we choose our nominees for president. By using his considerable wealth, his celebrity status, and his mouth to draw attention to himself, rather than to raise awareness of the issues facing America, he has coarsened our political dialogue and cheapened the electoral process.

Donald Trump's criticism of John McCain sets off a GOP firestorm

He has become "the distraction with traction" — a feckless blowhard who can generate headlines, name recognition and polling numbers not by provoking thought, but by provoking outrage.

In just five weeks, he has polluted the political waters to such an extent that serious candidates who actually have the credentials to serve as president can't get their message across to voters. In fact, some of them can't even win a spot in one of the upcoming debates, since those slots are reserved for candidates leading in the polls.

Last week, just before he decided to go after McCain, Trump was at the top of at least one national poll. But being electable is not the same as being qualified, and Trump has proven himself not only unfit to hold office, but unfit to stand on the same stage as his Republican opponents.

The best way Donald Trump can serve his country is by apologizing to McCain and terminating this ill-conceived campaign.

TV Host Graham Ledger DEFENDS Trump, says he may be what the country needs

Graham Ledger is right… Americans are starving for someone who is not politically correct and who will tell it like it is. Someone who will fight for what we actually want as Americans and someone who believes in the Constitution and that America is great. McCain disobeyed orders and was captured. Yep, he endured five years of torture and imprisonment at the hands of the North Vietnamese. Yep, when he was offered his freedom, he stayed with his men. But that does not make him a war hero. A war hero is someone like  Audey Murphy. Trump was right on McCain… he’s right on the border… he’s right on illegal immigration… he’s right on Iran… he’s right on our debt… and he’s right on arming our military. Ted Cruz likes him and has great respect for him. I don’t agree with everything Trump stands for, but at least he stands. Trump may be exactly what we need to wake us up.

            Graham Ledger
            From The Right Scoop:
Conservative TV host Graham Ledger, who hosts The Daily Ledger on OAN, said tonight that the vast majority of Americans are dying for someone who tells the unvarnished, non-politically correct, honest and sometimes painful truth.
He suggests that Trump’s comments over the weekend about McCain were inartful, but he does not believe they were inaccurate. In fact he says that being a POW does not make one a war hero, despite the fact that McCain is easily awarded that status.
He does state that he’s not diminishing McCain’s military service as a POW, being held and tortured by the N. Vietnamese for five years, and believes it should be respected and that we should thank McCain for his service.
But politically McCain is a disaster, he says, and someone like Trump may just be the political life raft that the country needs to set a new course back to a more truthful and constitutional America.
The Donald is rough around the edges. That’s Trump. Take him or leave him. I don’t like McCain. I respect what he went through for his country, but when he returned, he used his military status as a shield to get away with all kinds of [censored]. He set himself up as a Republican, wrapped himself in the flag and his military trappings and played innocent whenever he was called on the carpet for something Progressive. Which has been a lot of the time. His daughter is a raving Marxist moonbat. McCain is pro-Amnesty, pro-Progressive politics and has done nothing to help our vets. He borders on fascist at times. He’s a political embarrassment. How he keeps getting elected is a very valid question. So, yes… Ledger is right when he says Trump may be what this country needs. It can certainly do without John McCain and his labeling patriotic Americans ‘wacko birds’ and ‘crazies.’

Fortunately, the news media does not vote for the president, theoretically the people do when they have been paying attention and not swallow the tripe most of the media dishes out. I tend the think the media people are over impressed with themselves.

John McCain ... totally deserves respect for his service to the country. Unfortunately, I do not believe his past is America's future and he has tried to cash in on it too much.

Having served in war or not is being made much more than it should when choosing a leader. Libs are ready to trash Trump for not being in the war, but then neither was Clinton. He was too busy smoking weed without inhaling while off on some scholarship. Oh yeah, when and where did the current POTUS serve in the military?

It should be remembered that when it came time to build the first temple in Jerusalem, David was denied that opportunity, because of his war record. That honor went to Solomon. All respect to servicemen, but people who did not do military service are also capable people also.

Trump/Palin, I up for it. They both actually have experience running something before they got their chance to learn on the job as the current POTUS did! (BTW, Trump is not my first choice as I am still perusing the field, so don't get excited!)

As far as the Marxist moonbat daughter of McCain, better a moonbat Marxist not sitting as president as actually being a Marxist moonbat president. And I again recommend the movie "2016" for those interested in the POTUS's marxist upbringing, as in his mentors and philosophical development.

This thread is about Donald Trump!!!!

In some situations, it is proper to write: "Donald Trump"

In other situations, it is proper to write: "Trump, Donald."

politically speaking that is true as well, depending on the individual's view:

I would like to see Trump continue to run. Why?

Well, for one reason, he does not plan too ask me to contribute to his campaign.  I am getting such from others.

While I can't say I expect the same results this is eerily similar to Jessie Ventura. He was called a buffoon and the pharse " comic relief" was said many times.

Ventura tapped into some of the same issues Trump is in the same unapologetic brash manner. It as also felt Ventura would not be beholden to the "money guys".

Over 30% of democrats voted for Ventura instead of for Humphry and in Mn that was beyond anyone's imagination . I dont recall the exact amount but I think he spent less than 500,000  on his campaign and like Trump really was not beholden to special interests. The more the media piled on Ventura the more popular he became

maybe Ventura was "lesser of two evils" -- not being in Minnesota or in a neighboring state, I didn't keep up with Ventura's campaign or who his opponents were ...  I just remember thinking "you're kidding!" when I saw a professional wrestler got elected as the Gov. of Minn. !!!

If Trump is a serious candidate, is he the lesser of two evils?

The European experience that has been almost forgotten once had a bombastic candidate that blamed all of his country's trouble on "immigrants."  He rose in the polls. He was elected; then things got out of hand.

As I've read this thread I've been aghast at how many people allow the media to do their thinking for them.  Trump was correct in what he said about McCain.

            1.  The reason McCain was shot down and captured was because he disobeyed areas and went gunning for targets outside the boundaries of his mission.  This is an offense for which he should have been court-martialed.  However, his daddy was an admiral in the US navy.

            2.  Now, why did McCain choose to remain a POW when he could have gotten out?  Because he was afraid of being court-martialed?  Because it was another opportunity to seek glory?  I don't know.  Only John McCain knows for sure, but the two reasons I listed are right in line with the character of someone who disobeys orders to seek personal glory.

            3.  McCain has been in a position with the power to fight for and make sure his fellow veterans would be treated with honor.  They've earned that.  However, McCain has done little to nothing over the decades to make sure they were.  He has had the platform and power to fight for them.  He also has the name recognition with veteran's groups to make sure, if he wanted to, that they would report problems in how the government was treating them.  If's he has done that he's ignored their complaints for decades.  The VA scandal is not something new.  The revelations in the last couple of years have been very bad, but it's been known to be corrupt for a long, long, time.  McCain's actions in this regard have been anything but heroic and compassionate towards his fellow veterans.
