DR PEPPER

Answer: Pepsi was first introduced as "Brad's Drink" in New Bern, North Carolina, United States, in 1893 by Caleb Bradham, who made it at his drugstore where the drink was sold. It was later labeled Pepsi Cola, named after the digestive enzyme pepsin and kola nuts used in the recipe. Bradham sought to create a fountain drink that was delicious and would aid in digestion and boost energy. The original trademark application for Pepsi-Cola was filed on September 23, 1902 with registration approved on June 16, 1903.

PHILADELPHIA

Answer: On this day in 1927, the Harlem Globetrotters played their first basketball game in Hinckley, Illinois. The Globetrotters originated on the south side of Chicago, where all the original players were raised. They decided to pick Harlem as their home city, since Harlem was considered the center of African-American culture at the time and an out-of-town team name would give the team more of a mystique. The Globetrotters didn’t actually play a game in Harlem until 1968. Over the years they have played more than 26,000 exhibition games in 123 countries and territories.

Answer: Automobili Lamborghini was founded in 1963 by manufacturing magnate Ferruccio Lamborghini. A former mechanic during World War II, Lamborghini built a tractor business using leftover military hardware. By 1955, his tractor company was one of Italy's largest farming equipment manufacturers. Finding himself in a position to indulge his passion for luxury cars, Lamborghini began buying Alfa Romeo’s, Maserati’s, and Ferrari’s. He decided to build the perfect grand touring car, and after several years of working with top designers, the Lamborghini 350GTV was unveiled at the 1963 Turin Motor Show.

Answer: On this day in 1971, the sitcom "All in the Family" premiered on CBS. The opening theme song "Those Were the Days", was presented in a unique way for a 1970s series: Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton seated at a piano and singing the tune on-camera at the start of every episode, concluding with live-audience applause. The LaSalle automobile is mentioned in the famous theme song with the lyrics..."Gee our old LaSalle ran great.” LaSalle was an American brand of luxury automobiles manufactured by General Motors' Cadillac division from 1927 through 1940.

Answer: Drew Barrymore achieved fame as a child actress with her role as Gertie in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982). E.T. was the highest-grossing film of the 1980s and made her one of the most famous child actors of the time. After her much-publicized battle with alcohol and drugs as a youth, the 43-year-old actress has bounced back, with films including The Wedding Singer (1998), Never Been Kissed (1999), Charlie’s Angels (2000), 50 First Dates (2004), and He’s Just Not That Into You (2009). Barrymore has also found success behind the screen as a director, screenwriter, and producer.
