Which animal brings Easter eggs in Switzerland?

Cuckoo

CUCKOO

Answer: Like the rest of the Northern Hemisphere, Easter arrives at the beginning of Spring in Switzerland. Easter and Spring are wrapped up together, but that country’s symbol of growth and rebirth isn’t the bunny—it’s the cuckoo bird. (It makes more sense for eggs to come from birds than bunnies, right?) Swiss children fill their baskets on Easter morning by hunting for colored eggs and chocolate eggs left by the Easter Cuckoo. Cuckoos are much more prevalent in Switzerland anyhow—it’s the origin place of the cuckoo clock, after all.

Answer: Happy Earth Day folks! The average person uses 101.5 gallons of water per day. It’s easy to forget that we use water in ways we don't realize every day. On average, toilets are flushed 5 times a day per person and represent the single highest use of water in the average home. Toilet flushing makes up about 24% of overall household water consumption. In an average home, showering is the second largest water use. The average shower uses 15.8 gallons and lasts for 7.7 minutes at an average flow rate of 2.1 gallons per minute. Water flowing through opened faucets ranks third, and accounts for 19% of total water use.

Lithium

Answer: The original recipe for 7-Up contained lithium as an ingredient. In fact, 7-Up was originally called "Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda" when it was created in 1929. The drink contained lithium citrate, a mood-stabilizing drug, in its formula until 1948, when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration outlawed usage of the chemical in soda drinks. They eventually abandoned the original name of the popular soft drink and called it 7-Up. It has been theorized that the “7" actually refers to the atomic mass of lithium.

What did Shakespeare name his only son?

Answer: Historians believe Shakespeare was born on this day in 1564, the same day he died in 1616. At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway, with whom he had three children: Susanna and twins Hamnet and Judith. Hamnet Shakespeare, William Shakespeare’s only son, died at age 11. Some Shakespearean scholars speculate on the relationship between Hamnet and his father's later play Hamlet, as well as on possible connections between Hamnet's death and the writing of King John, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, and Twelfth Night.

MANDARIN  CHINESE

Answer: Mandarin Chinese is by far the most spoken language in the world. It's an official language in the People's Republic of China, the Republic of China (Taiwan), and Singapore. So it’s not surprising that there are approximately 955 million native speakers worldwide. If you wish to learn a language that one in six people in the world speak, this is the one for you. With a set of about 50,000 characters, it is probably one of the most complex languages to learn. Mandarin is by far the largest of all Chinese dialect groups, spoken by 70 percent of all Chinese speakers.

Greece

Answer: Only Greek feta can be labelled feta under EU law, which defines it as a brined cheese made in Greece from sheep milk, sometime mixed with up to 30 percent of goat’s milk. Feta cheese is considered the “white gold” of Greece’s economy. The country produces about 120,000 tons of feta every year, while the total domestic production of sheep and goat milk is about 1.1 million tons annually. In 2013, the EU struck a deal with Canada in which feta made in Canada would be called "feta-style" cheese, and would not depict on the label anything evoking Greece.

Which legendary actress has lost the Best Actress Oscar a whopping 18 times?

Meryl Streep

Answer: Over the past four decades Meryl Streep has amassed 21 Oscar nominations, more than any performer in Academy Awards history. She won three of those races, making her a member of the exclusive three-timers club. However, there’s a unique downside to Meryl’s Oscar reign. Streep also has 18 Oscar failures on her hands, and holds the record as the biggest acting loser of all time. Streep’s losses straddle 39 years, including 15 as Best Actress and 3 as Best Supporting Actress. Her first loss for “The Deer Hunter” (1978) happened four decades ago, setting the stage for a remarkable Oscar trajectory full of ups and many, many downs.

Answer: Glossophobia is the technical term given to a severe fear of public speaking. The term comes from the Greek words “glossa” and “phobos.” “Glossa” means “tongue or language,” and “phobos” is the personification of fear in Greek mythology. Glossophobia is a very common phobia and one that is believed to affect up to 75% of the population. Some individuals may feel a slight nervousness at the very thought of public speaking, while others experience full-on panic and fear. The fear is not necessarily limited to bigger stage experiences, but may happen even in front of mere few people.

MARRIED  WITH CHILDREN

Answer: Married... with Children is a sitcom that aired for 11 seasons. The show follows the dysfunctional family of Al Bundy, a once glorious high school football player turned hard-luck women's shoe salesman; his wife, Peggy; their attractive, dumb, and popular daughter, Kelly; and their smart, and unpopular son, Bud. Its theme song is "Love and Marriage" performed by Frank Sinatra from the 1955 television production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town. Originally broadcast from April 5, 1987 to June 9, 1997, it is the longest-lasting live-action sitcom on Fox and the first to be broadcast in the network's primetime programming slot.

ICE CREAM

Answer: Baskin-Robbins was founded in 1945 by brothers-in-law Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins from merging their respective ice cream parlors. Baskin-Robins claims to be the world's largest chain of ice cream shops, with 7,500 locations around the world. The Baskin-Robbins ice cream parlors started as separate ventures of Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins, who owned Burton's Ice Cream Shop and Snowbird Ice Cream respectively. When the companies merged, they named their new venture Baskin-Robins. The company is known for its "31 flavors" slogan, with the idea that a customer could have a different flavor every day of any month.
