I was just looking at the ESV which comes right out and calls it "the regular burnt offering". So it can be confusing, even to the translators and they are smart. But it is the "daily" and it is the "continual". And I think that it is the place of His Sanctuary that will be cast down because of transgression. But there's two alters in the Sanctuary: the alter of burnt offerings and the alter of incense. Remember that the earthly temple was an exact copy of the one in Heaven. I'd say that the "daily" is taken away at the alter of incense because that is the alter used for corporate atonement, for the sins of all humanity. So this "daily" is the only thing that is keeping God's wrath from breaking out since the very day that Adam fell. Jesus stepped in between us and the wrath of God on that day 6000 years ago. The censer is used at the alter of incense. When the golden censer is cast down to earth the daily service in Heaven's Temple is taken away, our Restrainer is taken out of the way and the place of HIS Sanctuary was cast down. This will probably sound like a strange note to post and I'm not sure if it's right so just consider it as a hypothesis. The reason why I post it here is because without any background knowledge of the Adventist historicist interpretation of apocalyptic prophecy, it won't have a chance of making any sense to anyone. But a word of caution before proceeding is in order. I understand that the SDA view of the USA is that it's the second beast that rises from the "earth" in Revelation 13. I'm going to say here instead that the USA is actually the "earth" who helped the woman from Revelation 12. I also think that Revelation 12:7 to 14:5 is one long prophecy that doesn't stop until chronological order is broken so that the "earth" who helped the woman in chapter 12 is also the same "earth" where the second beast rises from and unfortunately he is our end time antichrist. I'm also going to say here that the abomination of desolation is now currently standing in the holy place. And if that isn't enough I think this all might be confirmed by the possibility that Jesus is talking about a solar and a lunar eclipse in Matthew 24 that will occur immediately after the tribulation. So if these celestial events can be found we should be able to count backwards 1290 days and find our end time AofD. Because isn't Daniel 12:11 also another answer to the question “How long shall it be till the end of these wonders?” "And from the time that the daily is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be 1,290 days. 1290 days "Till the end of these wonders?” “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, Daily/AoD<-------1290Days------->Sun/Moon The first location on the planet to witness this darkening of the sun begins on a Sabbath at 11:34 PM. The last location on planet earth to see this eclipse end will culminate on Sunday at 3:48 AM. This would make it impossible for any man to know the day or the hour. The Bible warned that the wheat and the tares would grow up together but the wheat will know the truth. They are the five wise virgins, they kept their lamps with extra oil. And HE (THE MESSIAH) shall confirm the covenant (YAHWEH'S Laws and Statutes) with many for one week: and in the midst of the week HE shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Interesting though is other versions writing about the overspreading of abominations make more sense to the Paleo Hebrew Text. 1. the temple shall be the abomination of desolations; and at the end of time an end shall be put to the desolation.
