It comes from the father of lies himself. It is a twisting of God's word calculated to devalue human life at its source. This can't be of God! If it is not of God, why are you not able to support your doctrine from the Bible? You, instead, make emotional appeals, and resort to sarcasm. Where is your "thus saith the LORD"? Please answer just one question for me: How does the Bible define "soul"? I have supported this from scripture. You have disagreed. But your disagreement did not address the scripture-supported points I had made. I have stated that the Bible defines the soul by its breath. You said life is in the blood. Both are correct. But you have failed to address the fact that "life" is not "soul." If it were, then you commit "murder" by eating a carrot, right? Because it is specifically the killing of a "soul" that is defined as "murder" in the Bible. If I kill a sheep, that is not murder, is it? If it is, why did God command such? Your theology forces God to contradict Himself. As Mrs. White states, "It is impossible to honor God with an erroneous opinion." One of us is not honoring God, for our opinions cannot agree. I will humbly suggest that you should take a closer look at where the theological views you espouse have come from, and compare them to each other to see if they can line up to what the Bible says. I believe you will begin to find the contradictions if you will look closely at them with less of a self-justifying spirit. Truth is precious enough to obtain, even if it must be by eating humble pie. Quote

LifeHiscost Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 In the off chance that no one is so overheated in the attempt to make sure all medical personnel are seen to be guilty of murder by providing abortions, it might be enlightening to know that physical self control was the biblical advice to solve the problem before it could become a problem. Something like, don't eat the fruit of that tree. …8Then Judah said to Onan, "Go in to your brother's wife, and perform your duty as a brother-in-law to her, and raise up offspring for your brother." 9Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so when he went in to his brother's wife, he wasted his seed on the ground in order not to give offspring to his brother. 10But what he did was displeasing in the sight of the LORD; so He took his life also.…Genesis 38 But of course, self control is not seen as a logical virtue in the world we live in. If it is true that abortion is not prohibited in the Bible, then it would follow that Mary, the mother of Jesus, could have opted for an abortion. She was young, unmarried, and poor. I challenged a young Adventist physician some years ago with this question and he responded with "I would have not hesitated in performing and abortion for her." This prompted a long exchange of views that lasted several months, but we failed to reach an agreement. This convinced me that we have no power to convict any one of sin. Sin pays it wage, and when it is full grown, brings death, not execution by God. EGW who Green claims to believe in, says, Nature recoils from the thought of dissolution, which is the consequence of sin. {5Red 81.2} The sacrificial offerings were ordained by God to be to man a perpetual reminder and a penitential acknowledgment of his sin and a confession of his faith in the promised Redeemer. Which commandment prohibits me from marrying several women besides my wife, and where can I find a commandment condemning smoking marijuana? Nic, The Bible has areas that are black and white, and it has areas of gray as well. The gray areas are shown in the Bible to be inferior, but permissible. For example, eating meat. That is one of the gray areas. Other gray areas include polygamy, drinking wine, killing in war, being wealthy, wearing jewelry, slavery, and abortion, the topic of this thread. Because these are gray areas in the Bible, much wasted time and lots of heat are generated over these topics. Not once in all of the Bible is polygamy forbidden. Please keep in mind that the Bible speaks of Jacob's four wives, not one wife plus three paramours (or whatever epithet one might give such ladies). When you are married to someone, and she is your wife, it is not adultery to be with her. One does not commit adultery with one's own wife. The ten commandments prohibit adultery, not marriage. Adultery is defined in scripture as stealing someone else's spouse. The commandment condemning smoking marijuana is in Ezekiel 8:17 coupled with 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 10:31. That text in Ezekiel says: "Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose." 10 hours ago, Nic Samojluk said: I believe that your understanding of the passage found in Exodus is erroneous. Hatred would convert that killing into the crime of murder, which was to be punished with death. Killing had to be without hatred in order to comply with God's law. I'm quite sure most people who choose to get an abortion do not do so out of hatred for their unborn.
